  1. The smallish guild I'm in ( 22 members) actually grew. We gained 4 new members who left their larger guild because they felt they were being pressured into helping their guild with conquests. I don't think small guilds will go away, you'll just see part of the player base ignoring the new content.
  2. I have to ask: why are you being hit with obliterate? As far as I can tell it has a 25m range while sage attacks like telekinetic throw are 30m. Inch forward until your attacks first light up and then send in your companion. Interrupt the extract, keep the companion healed and bubbled, and kill the tentacle when it spawns. About the only time you should be in range of obliterate is if the tentacle spawns out of range from where you started.
  3. I'm beginning to wonder if Lana, like Theron, is also a descendent of Revan.
  4. Had a Cad which I refer to as "A Mara and his bot". The group is a Mara and a Jugg tank, both from the same guild, along with an operative heals, and me on my sorc dps. We start off and on the first trash, the mara jumps first followed by the tank jumping on the same target. That sets the stage for the rest of the run: mara always goes first, jugg follows, and both always attack the same target. After a while I begin to suspect that it's actually one person with two accounts with the mara always doing something first and the jugg doing a similar move a moment later. This means of course that mob aggro always goes to the heals and I'm trying to aoe things to grab aggro and we end each fight with jugg/mara almost untouched and me and the operative taking all the damage. We make it to Ortol and heals and I have barely entered the room when twin sabers go flying at the boss, The two of us are still close together when the first shackles go out and it gets both of us. I type "s" in group chat and.....nothing. Then type "shackled" and.....nothing. By this time we're seeing smoke so I force pull our mara to me which breaks the shackles on me and the operative and both of us run for safety. Well, that got a response: "You're ranged you don't need to move" For some reason pulling the mara really messed up the jugg who just stood there while the mara was typing his response. At the last moment mara stops moving and jugg uses his leap to the heals and we finish the fight with the mara smoking on the ground. Oddly enough, neither myself nor the operative offer a combat rez to the mara. I have to say, it was an interesting run. Not one I'd want to repeat, but interesting.
  5. My guild had a lot of fun doing an ev hm where we could only use the legacy hand to hand abilities. It was a lot of fun seeing Soa surrounded by a mob punching him.
  6. Before you transfer, I would suggest making a level 1 and using /who for The Dread Fortress, the Dread Palace, and so on to get an idea of how much raiding is going on during the times you're hoping to do ops.
  7. You had to make a condescending reply to someone who posted 13 months ago? And no, you don't need a black belt in MMO's to find your interrupt ; you just have to be able to put your curser over your abilities and read the tooltip.
  8. This isn't a group finder story, but still what I feel is a weird person story that I wanted to share: I was doing dailies on Ilum on my sorcerer who has scavenging. To get to my last couple of dailies I cut through an area where the pubs have to kill some turrets which leave scavenging mats. Seeing the little star symbol I stop and harvest from a destroyed turret, then go to another until I reach a sage standing before his last turret he needs for his daily. I stop what I feel is a polite distance away and wait. The sage then runs over next to me and : Sage say: I don't want any trouble but I WILL defend myself. Me: (points at turret) Sage say: I have four guildies on Ilum and they're headed here RIGHT NOW!!! Me say: Look, will you just kill the turret, I can't do it for you. Sage: Hops on his speeder and heads toward the pub base, zig-zagging from on bunch of pub npc's to another so that I would aggro them if I followed. Me say: I just wanted some durasteel... Note this was on a pve server, and neither of us were flagged.
  9. What were you fighting? You put points into accuracy to overcome the accuracy reduction of elites (5%) or bosses (10%). If you were just fighting regular trash, then no, you don't need any accuracy at all.
  10. Inglorious Banthas on JC. Also really like Looking For Love in Alderaan Places.
  11. After reading the thread, thought I'd share my oddest fp experience. I was on my sorc dps and had foundry pop up right after HK was released. Had a group of a PT dps, assassin tank, and operative heals. Each of the first trash fights ends with my dying after pulling aggro from the tank and getting only small heals from the operative because he blew his energy doing burst dps. Finally inspect the other players and our tank had a focus instead of a shield generator and our heals is badly undergeared. The PT dps whispers me and says " We can't kick both the tank and the healer, can you off-heal this?" I say sure and the PT switches to tank stance and throws a guard on me and we proceed to roll through the FP without another single death with the PT dps taking all the aggro, the sorc dps spamming bubbles and basic heals, the operative healer rolling into cover and sniping, and the assassin tank single target dpsing from strongest to weakest. It was one of the most absurd and fun FP's I've ever had.
  12. I ended up doing that, currently downloading 12gb, and at 47-132 kb/s I might get to play this Thursday.
  13. I think there will be more boss skipping. With a weekly cap of 50, many people are going to max out their comms before the week is out anyway, so why fight a boss that won't give any useful drops? Also, since the new level 55 fp's will have a 50% chance to drop a crafting mat from the final boss, and since the final boss is one of the two bosses that will drop gear, I think after about two weeks you'll see people once again making speed runs skipping as much as they can.
