  1. Hello All, I'm a returning player looking for a PvE/PvP guild. I have two level 50's (sorc healer, bounty hunter tank) that I raided with prior to leaving and I plan on actively raiding with them again once I've gotten back into the swing of things. My play times are typically anywhere between 8-12 PM CST M-F with more availability on the weekend. If you want to invite me or want to know more just message my sorc (Dakkath) in game. Thanks, Dex
  2. I apologize if some of these are repeats: Website Logging in should not redirect you to the home page This just happened to me actually. I find this thread, hit reply and logged in when prompted. I was then taken back to the home page and had to find my way back to this thread. After logging in I should have seen the "Reply to Thread" page. Game Dual Specialization I don't need to change from a sorcerer to an assassin but what I need is a way to change between my healing PvP and my healing PvE setup. We run ops Tues./Thur. and have a PvP night on Wednesday and at some point on the weekend. So I switch specs at least 3-4 times a week and each time I have to: Pay the respec fee (increasing each time) Look up which tree I want ( I have them saved on a site so I can actually remember) Change my action bars to match the new tree I know it doesn't seem like much, but when you do it multiple times each week it just kinda takes the fun out of the game. There are some nights I don't want to do PvP or PvE just because I don't feel like changing specs. The reply system I have seen multiple people mention this one, I just wanted to add my name in there as another person that finds this broken.
  3. Current User Story: 1. Navigate to a forum, or specific thread 2. Select "New Post", or "Reply" 3. Prompted to log in, so the user logs in 4. User redirected to home page and must navigate back to the forum or specific thread they were replying to In this instance, the user should actually be redirect back to the page they logged in from. In this case that would be the forum or thread they were viewing.
  4. I use ESDF as it opens up additional keys for me to keybind to. It has made things a lot easier for me. I recently started using a layout similar to this http://taugrim.com/2011/04/07/guide-to-strafing-movement-and-keybindings/ . With this layout, I just have a strafe left/right key and use the mouse to move forward (press left and right buttons at the same time). So far I like it a lot, but it definitely takes some getting used to. Just remember, anytime you change keybindings things will seem off at first but after a few laps around fleet for movement and some practice kills on a low level planet you'll start getting used to things.
  5. Just because there are only 2 things being fixed in this weeks patch doesn't mean that they only worked on 2 things this week. It just means these 2 things are the only ones they felt confident were ready to be pushed out. They have multiple teams working on different aspects of the game. As a team finishes up a bug fix or new feature they'll send it off to be tested by QA, then it gets put in a patch. This process can take a week, to a month depending on the issue. tl;dr This is not an easy process and takes time even for an experienced dev team. So be patient.
  6. With bioware'ss implementation of story mode this is acceptable behavior. However, for those that want to do the nightmare mode the things you've listed are unacceptable. I do want to play the game and have fun, but my idea of fun is completing things on the highest difficulty offered. To that end I will look for a guild that has the same idea of fun as I do, and these things are expected. So when someone shows up to a nightmare run, with no knowledge of the fight or how to effectively play their class and we repeatedly wipe as a result then that takes the fun out of the game for me. That person has now ruined my game experience. My point is that everyone has a different idea of what is "fun" in a game. Bioware has recognized this by adding the varying difficulty to their operations. If you don't want to have to worry about all those things you mentioned then join a guild that runs ops in story mode. You have that choice, it's your preferred play style and I can respect that. For those that want to run Nightmare, they will be looking for a guild that runs nightmare mode. It is expected that this mode will be difficult and will require more of a commitment to things such as researching boss fights, builds and rotations. All I ask is that people respect that is my preferred play style, it is my idea of fun and just as I respect your play style please respect mine. To bring this around to the OP, traditional logs would help greatly in nightmare mode. Story mode, they shouldn't be considered because that is not the point of story mode. But the people who opt to run nightmare should not have helpful tools withheld just for fear of them being used negatively in the lower modes. If you find yourself in a guild that is running story modes and actively calling you out based on a combat log, then you should probably find another guild that knows what its doing.
  7. This thread has been going on for a while now, and chances are I may not say anything here that someone else already hasn't but regardless, I want to add my support for traditional combat logs and here's why.... They help more than they hurt in my experience As a raid leader in WoW I found that the easiest way to help people improve was to go over combat logs. If someone had DPS that we considered too low for a fight we'd replace for that night so that the group could advance through the raid. Afterwards, we'd review the logs and spend the next week assisting any players that we had to drop due to low performance. The following week, we'd let them try again and the majority of the time they improved. If we didn't have combat logs we would not have known why we were having difficulty on a boss and kept repeatedly hitting a wall without any idea as to why. We used the logs to make a more enjoyable experience for our members and to allow them to see more content than they would have otherwise. Enrage/Beserk Timers require them If you're killing an ops boss with a 10 minute enrage timer, you need to know if some of your members are not performing. If just one person is under-performing you could find yourself hitting that enrage timer every attempt. You can't just throw more people at it, and without a log you have no idea what needs to be changed other than just "more dps". They're coming anyway In the event that those of you who are against the traditional logs get your way, you're going to find that raid leaders will find a way around this. If all there is are personal logs, raid leaders for hard core progression raiding will most likely start requiring that anyone that wants to raid turn in their logs to a central source at the end of the night. You will see sites start popping up that will allow you to upload your log and combine it with other members from the same guild to show what you would traditionally see in a combat log. Final words I understand that many of you probably didn't read my post in its entirety which is understandable. Most of you have probably had bad experiences with people using combat logs to belittle you or ruin your game experience and for that I'm sorry. Please understand though that there are many people who use these logs to help make the game more enjoyable for others. We use them as diagnostics to help improve the team overall and offer help where it is wanted. Dex
  8. Thanks for the tip, I'm still getting used to the resolve system and how/what abilities effect it so I'll start trying that. This would still be a nice to have somewhere down the line though.
  9. I play with my camera zoomed out quite a bit, especially in PvP. One of the issues I currently have is that when something is behind me that causes my camera to move in (ie a wall, door, etc...) once I clear that object my camera does not immediately readjust to the correct distance. Instead it slowly starts zooming out, and if I want it there immediately I have to zoom out myself. I'd like it if the camera went back immediately on its own.
  10. I'd like to see a short cc invulnerability buff added to the break free ability that all classes have. By short, I mean just 3 - 4 seconds. It is extremely frustrating to be moving across a fire grate in huttball, getting cc'd and subsequently breaking free only to get cc'd again as if I never used the ability in the first place. At times it seems like I didn't even activate the ability because I still can't move but when I look at the ability I can see it on cd. As I mentioned, this buff does not have to be any longer than a few seconds. Just enough to where using the break free ability is actually worth it.
  11. This change is a step in the right direction I think but still not great. The flashing I could have dealt with in time, the brighter colors as well, but all quickslots going dark while the GCD finishes is unacceptable. There is no such thing as a "Rotation" anymore for many classes. You don't use abilities in a set sequence, instead most rotations are based on a set of priorities. Basically, when certain abilities become available you use them over using other abilities, and the best time to determine the next ability is during the GCD. However, with this new UI fix it is impossible to know if an ability becomes available during the GCD. I play a powertech, so my reference in this case is going to be "Railshot" which can only be used when a target is incapacitated. There are many things that can trigger this effect allowing you to use this ability, and the easiest way to tell if its available is if the quickslot is lit up. With this fix, I don't know if its available until my GCD is finished and by then I already have my next ability queued up so it goes off, I'm back on GCD and I still don't know if its available because if it is it just went dark. I realize this change has been good for others. I believe I saw a post about someone having a much easier time with this fix because they were colorblind. That is great, but this fix also makes the game much harder to play for others. There has to be some middle ground. For me, I think I'd have a much easier time with it if the buttons remained lit that were supposed to be and you just kept the new effects on top of that.
