  1. I played with a Captain Obvious on jedi covenant! He was an awesome guy, wonder where he went. Probably back to EVE Online. My son (8) created a male body type 4 cyborg marauder named Gravyus. I'm waiting for a new cybernetics armor that will include two additional arms. He also used a 65 token to make a guy named "Boosta". I tried to convince him to name him Boosta Rhymes, but he had no idea what I was talking about, sadly. Off topic - KotFE and KotET can be done with a level 1 companion using only the basic attack button. I have seen it (apart from the two final bosses). Most ridiculous guild name I saw: on the old Harby I saw a guy spamming fleet to recruit for a guild called <Peanut Butter Jedi Time>.
  2. There is a bug in the game where certain AoE healing abilities may hit pets rather than other players, reducing the effectiveness of the healers. I'm not sure why THOSE pugs told you no pets in an op, but that's why I do it. In my case, it's not meant to deprive people of their fun, it's to avoid a long-term bug.
  3. As a future heads-up, Bioware mentioned conquest in their Fall 2017 roadmap: "We are also hard at work on features planned for early 2018, including overhauling the Conquest system with a stronger focus on Daily Activities and giving all guilds and players access to some great rewards."
  4. I understand this gripe only too well. Most of the knowledge I do have was gained from years of hideous mistakes. To the OP, a suggestion: if you are lucky enough to get some legendary Gemini drops (other than the belt), hang onto the shells, put the mods into the gear you're wearing. One day, Bioware just might make another tier of gear, and it's possible (though of course not probable) that you could use those Gemini shells and some UCs to get the next tier.
  5. The RNG is pretty rough. My pal got a mailbox decoration from one a few days ago (intro to conquest mission). But if they show up for free? As exciting as it is to open command crates, I feel like I can wait a few days (weeks) to have a one-in-a-trillion shot at a lovely antique socorro lightsaber besh.
  6. Wow, live already? Great news! Thanks all. Hoping for the cubes to show up, I have waited 20,000 years, but I will wait no longer. Maybe a little longer if I want UCs...
  7. Eric/Keith: The fall 2017 roadmap stated that a new slot would be added to command crates with a small chance for a cxp buff, grand chance cube, upper tier mod/enhancement, etc. However, there was no specific timeframe given for this change. I assumed it would come with 5.6, when other changes to the command crates were scheduled. The change was not mentioned in your latest communications regarding 5.6. Is the change no longer planned? Is it pushed out of the Fall 2017?
  8. The original announcement regarding changes to command crates mentioned the addition of Grand Chance Cubes to the possible loot tables. Has this change been removed? Or is it still planned? It was not mentioned in your post today.
  9. Recently got a new computer, everything seemed to be working nicely. Didn't figure out every little thing, but wanted to play swtor. Joined a pug EV gf on my marauder. Mostly a guild, some new people, fun but not without some hilarious newbie moves. I joined their discord, they were happy I put up good dps + knew the fights. Never can tell what you're going to get with a carnage pug. At Soa, after two floor drops, they had lost 3 dps and 1 healer; bound to be exciting after that. I thought about my rotation, getting ready for a sprint. By mistake I tapped a side button on my new mouse while I was running down the platforms. It didn't appear to do anything, so never mind. The group stopped in mid-air to heal, wait for the last platforms to fall into place... and I kept running. I hit every button on the keyboard. I resorted to verbal suggestions: "Stop! Stop!" Right through the heal puddle, off the platform, smoosh. After a brief silence in discord, I heard the raid leader say, "Well, that was just pure dumb-as*-ery." Yes it was.
  10. Lots of people like the female consular voice acting! It's a little immersion-breaking trying to play my jedi shadow who keeps sounding like Nathan Drake, I admit. But I agree with the agent story after Jadus. It doesn't deserve the hype.
  11. Wow, thanks much yevah. Your fix worked for me. Otherwise, the mission is still bugged.
  12. Yesterday on Harbinger, I queued up (lvl 70 healer) for GSF, random veteran FP, and Eternity Vault through groupfinder. The queue for FP popped, and I clicked Accept. However, the other players did not, and after the timer had clicked down almost to the end, the GSF queue popped. I accepted the GSF pop under the mistaken assumptions that (1) the FP pop was a bust, and (2) that accepting the GSF pop would "decline/kick" me automatically from the FP pop. The result was that I was in GSF, but couldn't click my ships or the Ready button, couldn't click anything. Seeing the horrible mess I created, I hit Esc - leave battle, so at least my GSF pals could replace me. I then saw that the veteran FP actually started, so I zoned in to Hammer Station to help out. However, I remained in the ops group for GSF, so could still see the ops chat yelling for help at A, etc. I don't know if I was replaced in GSF, probably not. The GSF match ended before the FP, and I did not get a completion for it. When it ended, my 4-person FP group frame went ham, turning into an 8-person ops frame with 7 empty place-holders and I. I couldn't click on my FP teammates in-game or through the frames, causing a decrease in my healing abilities. We survived thru kolto stations, which I could still click. At the end, I didn't get completion for the GSF match (good), or for the veteran FP (less good), which remained uncompleted in my log until I manually abandoned it. When I re-logged, my frames were back to normal, and performed normally in a subsequent EV GF run. I didn't try GSF again, hopefully no problems. The second queue pop acceptance doesn't automatically kick you / decline you from the first pop. After that, chaos ensues. I've never been auto-kicked from GSF for inactivity - does it break your ops frames when that happens? I'm assuming not, since nobody complained about it on forums.
  13. Welcome back and I hope you find the community you're looking for on the new server. If you used credits to buy your strongholds, you will have to buy them again on the new server, yes. If you used cartel coins it would be free to "buy" them again on the new server. However, whichever currency you used to unlock other rooms on your old server, those rooms are free to open again on the new server. As someone else said above [edit: immortallowlife], you also still have your decorations, you just have to place them again. It may not be as bad as you think!
  14. The Heroic PvE space missions are hard, but not impossible. Make it easier on yourself and wait until you have all of the absolute best components before trying them. Dulfy has a guide sheet for each mission that I found helpful: http://dulfy.net/2012/12/13/swtor-patch-1-6-space-missions-guide/ Start with the "easy" ones. Crucial to success: manage your power properly, move with all of the wasd/mouse/roll buttons you have, stay on target, use your EMP and EWP cooldowns at the correct places only. Finally, and this is necessary on most of the Heroic missions, DO NOT crash into anything. Cha Rabaa I found to be the hardest of all of them. I had to watch an expert's video and learn how to avoid the asteroids. I never use my blasters in that mission: missiles, torpedo, EMP only. I flew that mission twice without shooting blasters or missiles at anything at all, just flying to get the pattern down to avoid the asteroids. It's a pain, but it can be done. For the achievement hunters, there's a mount you can buy (Tirsa Champion) only with max reputation with the space missions, BoL, and it is needed for the Gearhead achievement. I did the missions on two characters (1 imp, 1 pub) so I could grind up the reputation faster, since the heroics are on a weekly refresh. Once you can do the missions in 1 try consistently, you can do all 6 (plus impossible sector/ascendancy barrier) in about an hour per toon, and you'll max rep pretty fast. Last tip - GSF also yields fleet commendations, which are required to buy many of the Grade 7 critical ship parts. If you don't want to grind Impossible sector for centuries to get comms (who does?), fly some GSF, and supplement with your favorite easy low-level space operation missions.
  15. What do you all think of Pie's idea?: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=9373637 As I said in that thread, I'd love it. But I wonder, is it a good idea to drive conquest monkeys to GSF once again just to grind up the Fleet Req to buy the stronghold, and maybe to open the extra rooms, in order to get the conquest bonus? It might increase the GSF player base, especially if some of the other pilot community suggestions in the Dev-opened threads actually get implemented (looking at you, improved in-game tutorial). Is that worth the dev time?
