  1. I guess you never played DAoC. Casters in that game could not even CAST if melee were hitting them. Every attack was a full interrupt and they had to stand still to cast too. Yet every 8 man ran with a few casters. Why? because balance beats all. Yes 1v1 you are going to lose vs a mara/sent but a team of just melee would never win against a team of just range or a balance of range/melee. The ranged classes get better CC, and they just hit harder. Yes when melee is on you your uptime plummets, but when sorcs/BH/snipers get to free cast they do soooo much damage. You complaining that you cant win 1vs1 against a melee as a range means you dont understand what playing in premade is. And that your teammates are suppose to peel while you kite, and if they attack one of your teammates instead you CC people and nuke others to death.
  2. Ya, some people did, and some people were unlucky and opened 100 bags and only got 4 items. You can still get gear out of bags...if you haven't then you are unlucky and probably would of been unlucky in the old system as well and would of been QQing about 20 bags of nothing but 60 centurion comms. I hit battlemaster before the ilum kill trade, which means i did it the slow way, and also means i opened a sh*t ton of bags and i never completed my full champion set until after getting enough champ comms from BM bags to buy them. Now im on BM bags, and 40 bags later because of stupid RNG, i have 2 tokens which still doesnt buy my BM main hand. I look at the patch and think "really? glad champ bags sucked for me but is great for the new 50s, while BM bags still suck for me and will be great for the new BMs when they change those bags too" I already enjoy seeing people who are less valor/play less out gear me, cant wait to see people who are a full month behind me do the same.
  3. and the best teams will be all the hacker teams that wont get banned.
  4. I understand the server community thing. On my server now, i know what names i like to see on my team and what names i cringe to see on the other team. (unless im in a premade, then i like to face other premades) But when cross server bgs hit WoW. It wasnt the end of the world, its more like a bigger community, so it just takes longer to familiarize yourself with all the people. This was where those cluser server forums on WoW were cool. More premades, more pugs, more competition , que pops, and then you had to be really good to make a name for yourself and stick out. But you still could stick out. Also when you pug cross servers, in WoW i felt like anytime i ended up with ANYONE from my server on my team, we were in it together then. Like its us vs the rest and we had to represent our server to make our server look better than the rest. So ya cross servers changes it up a bit, but its not terrible or the end of the world or anything.
  5. well you got those that have good computers who still get 20 fps in the zerg vs zerg. the rest who dont have brand new computers suffer from this. Also though, 8 man groups just means good guilds wipe the weak guilds, and there are tons of more bad players than good, so they would prefer not to die over and over to the better skilled/geared where in a zerg skill/gear goes out the window.
  6. good point about having leap always ready after a knockback for combat as i did notice combat, having focus at all times was easy. And as watchman i do use it for focus more often, but the 3 seconds of the cooldown of it truly does help. I also loved the roots, but the amount of times master strike goes into its animation without actually going off is just so frustrating and rooting yourself while they run away kind of cancels the positives of the anti kiting in the tree. Maybe if they fix that. Then the problems of getting CC'd right after using precision slash just made me always sink into depression as i miss out on the burst buff. I just wish a few tweaks to certain abilities would be nice for combat.
  7. i only pvp. So i use it anytime its up and im missing/losing health. I like the hp regen more than anything, the guaranteed crits causing more damage is just a plus. And when you pop immune shield, then health pot and then beserk. you just go from 10% hp to 40% hp in no time.
  8. Does anyone still actually play Combat at 50? And if you do, have you even tried the other 2 trees? Then if you have, why have you chose to stay with combat? I ask because i use to be combat, and then i tried the other 2 and decided both were better, but watchman i favored the most. And everyone who i see defend combat either is sub 50, or never even tried the other 2 specs at 50. I would like to see someone seriously defend the quality of the combat tree from a person who is 50 and has played both other specs at 50.
  9. those are all the things i think...its not worth typing any of it as it will have zero effect on what the enemies or friendlies are doing that effect me.
  10. (dont know what number w on so my list) 1) Did this guy really attack me solo? Does he really think he can win a 1v1 against my decked sentinel? 2) god i wreck sh*t. 3) god i get focused a ton....get off my nutz 4) god i get no heals 5) god i always happen to die when this door has 4 bars on it 6) oh god its huttball... 7) god im tired of waiting for force leap to come off CD after being knocked off the catwalk for the 100th time. 8) I hate you friendly consular for speeding infront of me for the power buff on voidstar. 9) son of a b***...i got stunned and killed before i could pop my immune ability? such BS 10) did i seriously get stunned 3x in a row by 3 different people? *** resolve??? immune me sometime today please. 11) Why [insert teammate here] did you have to stun him the same time i did which in essence wasted my stun? 12) seriously? Half my team has less than 13k health...this is gonna hurt.
  11. Ok, i have seen a few posts now say Accuracy to 98% > crit/surge/power. My question is why? If i can manage to lose 6% accuracy for 5% surge and keep crit/power the same. would it not be worth it to still have 92% for 85% surge over 98% accuracy 80% surge?
  12. i appreciate the post. It is nice to see actual softcap numbers to shoot for. But i'm still unsure about the importance of accuracy. As what im considering doing is replacing all my accuracy/power enhancements with crit/surge ones, and replacing all my crit modules with power ones. essentially it would keep my power levels about the same, increase my surge but i would sacrifice accuracy. Though with over 100% on special attacks and still a 90% on normal attacks i dont see this being too much of a downside right?
  13. You say that...and so did my friend (we both maras) and I. We both thought it was the spec to be when reading the talents and the feel for the combat and the controlled roots. But when i switched anni and could destroy him in stats and duels, he soon switched anni and there is no going back until they buff the carnage tree. Try it out and you will not regret it.
  14. Okay, 3 things... 1) does Malice actually increase the crit chance of the DoTs? I have heard people say yes and no to this. 2) I agree with the stacking of power and surge, but what if accuracy is not 100%? is it worth letting accuracy fall to 90-92% for more power/surge? (again my focus is for pvp not pve) 3) until i get power/surge mods, do you think accuracy/power is greater than crit/surge or vice versa? Because the ones i have in current gear tie those 2 stats together.
  15. i have played against ops/scoundrel healers. From my sentinel's point of view...you guys are fine. No you cant straight up heal as well as a sage. But you guys heal so much better on the move. I can jump a sage and stop his healing completely and kill him after enough interupts. Ops/scoundrels i can't kill. They have so much CC and abilities and their HoTs are more powerful that they just keep running around healing themselves and others and stunning and kicking me and whatever else that i just don't even bother trying to kill you anymore. Its easier to just heal debuff a dps class and focus down a target and let you sit on your *** with your CC that you save for the people dumb enough to bother chasing you. Ontop of that i have seen plenty of hybrid dps/heal ops/scoundrels and then its annoying because they are actually going to fight me and kill me slowly while their hots keep them up and my health dwindles away. /rant god i hate healing ops/scoundrels
  16. nothing? No math wizards have figured out the best mix and match of BM/rakata/champ gear/mods to be the most decked?
  17. i love my sent, so im not complaining, but thats because im anni/watchman spec. That rage/focus 10m charge though is pretty crappy from my experience with it when i tried focus though, 10m is so short, and the animation is so slow, and there is no root/stun to it that by the time you land, they are already 6-8m away again. It sounded better than it is, i can't even leap from the lower catwalk up to someone on the higher catwalk.
  18. So you're complaining about 1 specific tree being worse than the sentinel class? Combat tree for sentinel is also lacking too. So you know what? I don't use it because it is just weaker like your vengeance tree. Complain all you want, but immortal juggs are hard to kill and can guard/taunt and all the other stuff that help save lives. Rage spec juggs hit like trucks, and ya are probably squishier than mara/sents but thats because for some odd reason that tree and the bottom of our midle tree give us damage reduction while you get damage increase. So you are a little squishier but your smash will hit for 1-2k harder than ours. So less qq, your class is tanky when specced tank, and huge burst damage when specced dps.
  19. I love this class, Right now im full champion gear with green shard matrix cube, and BM ear/implants. I'm working towards getting the BM gear, but im just wondering do i take the BM gear as is? Or are there certain champion mods i should stack or any Rakata PvE gear/mods to use? I know some people are taking out the accuracy/power mods in place of surge/crit mods. But is there a limit to the crit/surge i need? Pretty much im just curious if anyone has made a template of the optimal gear/mods to have to pump out the highest damage possible out of this class for pvp?
  20. I'm level 50 watchman and i pvp right now wearing pretty much full champ with BM ear/implants and green shard matrix cube. I know some people are taking out there accuracy/power mods in the champ gear and replacing them with duplicate crit/surge mods from other pieces. But is there a cap to how much crit/surge you need? I feel like i have heard the number 80% tossed around a few times for surge. Anyway i was just curious as im trying to hit as hard as possible as a watchman sent what crit%, surge%, and amount of +power im aiming for that is even possible. Like if maybe someone actually has a template of gear/mods to get the max out of this class's dps.
  21. what? full champ 12% and full BM 20%? Im full champ with BM ear/implants and am at like 11.15% and each BM piece only adds 3-4 more expertise which might bump me up to 12%. Its actually a very minor upgrade expertise wise, and stat wise is a downgrade for sentinels. But its okay im going to use the champion mods i want and plug them into the BM gear.
  22. Don't ask me to show you the math because i don't know the forumulas they are using or analyzing my gear. All i know is my gear hasn't changed in weeks. And before the patch my highest burn crits on sentinel were around 1000-1200 After patch my highest burn crits are 800-900. Now supposedly if you stack the right stat you can make this patch give you higher crits than before the patch. But this was hardly a buff in damage. Just using the basic gear without mod swapping its a pure nerf to damage. And if stacking the gear properly gets you just a ever so slight buff to damage. I mean i still do fine on my sentinel but don't lie and make all the other classes think we got some nice huge dps buff. Because for anyone who doesn't know how searing saber originally gave 30% base damage (which you don't mention in the patch notes) then all they see is the 11% dmg increase to plasma blades. Which will probably lead to a whole bunch of "Why did you buff marauder/sents so much?!?!"
  23. Thats just huttball. On the other maps, with flat terrain i will destroy a BH. But huttball is so range friendly with the skinny catwalks that they can just nuke from up there and knock anyone off who dares attack them and nuke some more.
  24. me and my buddy are sentinels. he will single handedly shut you down, especially if you stay within a 15m range of a snared tank, that limits your kiting drastically. All the while you will both be heal debuffed, and the tank will be dropped. I solo juggs all the time, if hes taking extra damage guarding a healer he will drop real quick. And 1 sent on you is enough to lock you down getting kicked every 6 seconds force leap for an interrupt, stasis stun interrupt, awe interrupt. rotating those can shut down a caster completely.
