  1. I could play for 2 hours today with normal latency, but it just started lagging out again and now I get the same as yesterday.
  2. Agreed, I'm experiencing the same. Random lag spikes from 500-23000ms, essentially making the game unplayable. SWtOR is the only game I have that does this.
  3. Darth Malgus server. I just got bumped from position 159... To 587. "As a subscriber you enjoy the highest login priority for a full server". Riiight. Edit: Oh also, did manage to login before, where I noticed that ALL of my saved outfits were deleted.
  4. Yeah, this is isn't happening for me. Went through all the romance options with Lana on my toon, never saw any romance dialogue with her on Nathema and I haven't gotten the quest. Still broken.
  5. But, no sand. I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough... And get in everywhere. ... *runs away*
  6. I see. As I stated before though, I don't have Bitraider. I'm a Founder and the install has been the same since I got the physical copy of the game at launch. Regardless, thanks for the suggestions. Hopefully others can benefit from this thread as well.
  7. Came home today, fired up the launcher again. Still froze. Tried again and... It worked. I have no idea how, but it works now. Problem solved, I guess, even if I'd very much like to know what caused the error in the first place.
  8. The issue that prevented many of us from logging in yesterday and prevailed late into the night and into today, and that has officially been "fixed" is still preventing me from logging into the game from the launcher. I've ran FixLauncher, which rerolled the launcher to the vanilla version and then prevented me from logging in anyway. I contacted customer support and got told to download the latest version of LauncherRepairUtility, which I did, followed the instructions and ran it. It restored the launcher to the current one, but also brought back my original issues. Back at square one. I have followed every single step and advice given to me by customer support and the launcher's patcher is still stuck at 0%, "Installing Game Client 227". I don't have Bitraider. My ports are open. There are no firewalls or antivirus or applications or screensavers or whatever preventing this on my end. I have exhausted all options given to me by the lackluster customer "support" and have no choice but to post here now. Maybe someone here can help. If not, I guess I'm not playing anymore. Thanks. Edit: Screenshot of the launcher problem. https://s26.postimg.org/9mqdkx7rd/launcherborked.png
  9. If we are going to be doing a lot of dailies due to the new Command XP system then we really need this quest to change. Valen Korik's respawn is just too slow and people often have to queue a long time before they can get a shot at him. This can be extremely tedious as full groups can quickly form waiting on the respawn, with additional arrivals having to wait for their turn. Either up his respawn rate, or change the quest so that the altar he spawns next to becomes clickable, so you can summon him, similar to how you summon Deth Kregg in Personal Challenge. Issues like these are archaic, interrupt the flow of the game's daily quest system and makes people irritated. Thanks.
  10. Well yeah, that makes sense. I do agree on communication and validation needing improvements... Thing is, this shouldn't be a problem with a company that has been in business for this long. Considering the amount of games Bioware have released before Swtor, the fanbases and countless forums that they have dealt with you'd expect them to know how to handle things as simple as communicating with people and validating bug fixes. Edit: Getting off-topic, apologies.
  11. One can easily say it's just fuel for the fire for the haters, but it's also the little things that help defining a better game experience. Even the smallest details can be just as important, and with that you would think that when Bioware notices it and claim they fixed it, but it turns out they didn't, something's wrong with how they prioritize.
  12. Ah, of course! I should've realised it sooner
  13. I plan on keeping at least two for as long as humanly possible. Once GTN has settled a bit we'll see how much they go for. Even if that takes years
  14. Don't get me started on jumping and moving... The synchronization between running/walking and jumping is so broken, you see better controls in Super Mario Bros. If you are walking/running anywhere near a ledge and jump, the game will not register it and you will just slide off. And they decided to introduce jumping puzzles to get datacrons and whatnot?
  15. Oh cry me a river. This looks more like a DLC than an expansion. Tbh that's fine, DLC's are hardly unheard of these days, and getting a new planet + probably a lot of other content for level 50's but also 5 more levels for such a low price seems good enough to me. "But it's supposed to be free!" It's an MMO, there's already tons of stuff "for free" with the F2P and it's probably the first MMO I've seen that utilizes DLC-like content like this.
  16. If Bioware's Art department aren't considering hiring you, they're silly. This is some -amazing- work.
  17. From a roleplayer's perspective, you'd think being able to keep up with what other players are saying is pretty damn important. They tried chat bubbles in the Beta and it ground fps to a halt because hey, the game wasn't finished (thereby it being a BETA) and due to EA's demands the game was released prematurely and still suffered some heavy performance issues. Speechbubbles were most likely not implemented right and were put on hold to fit the deadline, just like many other things. An option to turn off chat bubbles at will would please both those who prefers the game without them, and roleplayers (you know, the people who actually buy the MMORPG for the 'RPG' part). The suggestions on the front page are good, valid suggestions that benefit everybody while keeping in mind those that don't want chatbubbles in their game. To pop on the thread just to say that we should adapt when the options presented are good, most likely means that they haven't read the whole thread and that's kinda ignorant.
  18. I seem to recall the devs answering this question in a Q&A (can't be arsed to look for it) where they stated that it'd still be a huge undertaking and that they'd right now focus on other guild accomodations but that it's definitely an interesting idea and they seemed to hint that perhaps it could be done in the future.
  19. I keep thinking the cold vacuum of space eventually cools down the bolt enough for it to vaporize. Though this is why you use targetting computers in space-combat; to try and minimalize stray projectiles
  20. This is an interesting topic, and as far as I know weapons known as Blaster-Rifles, Blaster-Pistols and even some of the heavier equipment like the Blaster-Cannons on the ships utilize some form of pressurized, refined gas that envelops a solid 'bolt'-like projectile in plasma and sends it flying. I suppose it depends on the type of weapon, but I'm pretty sure that most Blaster bolts travel at speeds faster than the eye could see. They may only show them in the movies (and games, apparently) because it'd look more boring if you didn't see the projectile, and lazers are always cool to look at. Back when Star Wars first came out people didn't think on this as much and they did for example name the Turbo-Laser cannon even though it actually shoots plasma-encased bolts, Lightsaber was Lasersword etcetera. When it comes to combat, I'd like to know how far a blaster bolt travels. If it's indeed as the lore says, would the bolt vaporize after being cooled down after a while or, if in space would it just keep going like a standard object propelled forwards in the vacuum? For science!
  21. A most excellent idea! It should naturally drop a few of the precious Krayt Dragon Pearls too
  22. Hehe, I would if my screen didn't have a will of it's own and decides to give me graphical artifacts if I do that
  23. It exists. I believe it's called the General Discussion forum. Sadly.
  24. Who cares about endgame? I'm in it for the roleplaying. Problem solved.
