I responded. To prevent people from accusing you of making up stats, I'd recommend just putting up screenshots of the results. Not trying to help you make a case, just want to get all the immature attacking out of the way first so we can constructively discuss the results.

I actually prefer it. I can still see the cooldown going, but now I actually know what's going to be available once the cooldown ends without keeping a mental tally of exactly how much Force I have at any given moment. I set the queue timer up to 1 second, and I can keep my abilities going constantly now.

There's a saying that goes something like, "Ignorance of the law is no excuse." Just because you didn't know the rules changed doesn't mean they didn't change. Regardless, you acknowledge that your Valor gains were unfair, then ask to keep them for no other reason than that they benefit you? Sounds like a selfish **** move to me.

Also, if you're doing warzones and hardmodes for the sole purpose of getting the daily and not to enjoy them, the game has become a chore and you shouldn't be playing it.

If one wanted to do the 3/7/31 build, is there any major reason to put the two points in Security Breach vs. Shadowy Veil? Would the extra survivability compensate for the slightly lower DPS I assume you would have?

All right, so I'm definitely getting the message that no, hybrids aren't viable. So I guess I just need to go with a 7/3/31 build or something. Thank you for the quick response. First of all, I have looked at the guide, and while it has a lot of hybrid builds, few of those are centered on the Balance tree, which is my primary DPS tree. So I'm mostly winging it and trying to find something that fits my specific playstyle. Now, to answer your questions. I hope to spend most of the time in Force Technique, since I intend to be a main DPS. My plan was, if I wanted to offtank for something, I would switch out a focus for a shield and change to Combat Technique. But, the main gist of your post seems to be saying that while I have a lot of options, I don't get enough benefit from enough of my talents at any one time. So it would seem I need to move higher up one or both of my two main trees, which would mean taking points out of Infiltration. Is it worth it to leave any of those 7 points in there or should I just redistribute all of them?

Hello all, I am currently level 22 on my Shadow and am looking for tips on my eventual final build. Let me show you my current projection and tell you what I want out of my Shadow. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#601rI00kZGMZfMcRrbzb.1 -Ranged/Melee hybrid. I pretty much get this by picking Shadow in the first place. -DPS, with stealth helpful but not necessary. I take Balance up enough to get Force in Balance, ignoring the Force Lift stuff that I wouldn't use anyway. I take Infiltration Tactics to get Find Weakness, making Shadow Strike viable when not stealthed, Shadow's Respite to give myself faster Force regen coming out of stealth, and Shadowy Veil to increase my survivability when in Force Technique. So starting a fight with stealth gives me a temporary advantage, but I'm still set after the initial opening. -Survivability/Ability to offtank. I take Kinetic Combat up enough to get Kinetic Ward and Particle Acceleration. So, what I feel like this leaves me with is a very versatile character. I can use stealth to get the jump on my opponents and seize the advantage from the beginning of the fight, but I'm still viable for long, protracted fights. I am also pretty survivable as a DPS, and by switching out a shield for a focus, changing stances, and possibly switching gear, I can become a decent offtank as well. This build is primarily for PvE, but I wouldn't mind being effective in PvP as well. In addition to asking for opinions on this build, I guess I'm also asking a more general question: Are hybrids viable in TOR? Is there any point to having a build more hybridized than 31 points in one tree and 10 in another? Am I making myself more versatile by hybridizing, or am I just gimping myself in both DPS and tank areas? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, both in tweaks to improve this build or reasons why I should just scrap it and start over.
