  1. It's something at the base core of psychology. Fear/anxiety/stress/anger etc can be a positive thing unless it's controlling you . Fear can prevent you to be harmed just like it can save your life.. Too much of it can cause panic attack which make you unable to answer to your body reaction. Have your parent ever told you that you don't know danger when you was a kids/teen ? When you learn danger and fear it.. You learn how to protect yourselves from harm . If you run face to face with a bear. Fear can save you life. Unless you're prepared. Fear often replace it for survival . It's make your entire body reaction change. All the energy of your body is than used only for 1 thing. Survive. Even your eyesight vision change and make you much more focused . Batman is like a SITh lol. He use his own fear and impose it on others. Being scared/anxious is a normal thing. If you're never scared .. You're a fool or not fully developed. Strong people are scared like everyone else, but they manage to control their own fear or even use them positively. When you're scared of your own body reaction it's when it will control you. You can't control your fear .. but you can control how you perceive it. Even I will say that the coward are those who don't show their own weakness. Strong people cry and are scared. Overconfidence is a sign of weakness.
  2. Of course .. leveling to 50 was a pain in the butt at the beginning of DaoC. Chain Pulling the same crap for 50 hours and gaining half a level. Dying and losing all the experience you gained the last hours. Sitting at the same spot for a week farming Malice scroll with no luck. Camping Battler for day just for the spawn to be ninja'ed. Having not enough people to do Ml raid and when you're able to do it .. after 7 hours into the raid .. someone make a mistake and the whole raid is wiped. Waiting for group or ppl to buff you in rvr because you play late due to your job. Wasting hundred of hours clicking the same to level your spellcrafting. participating in raid for 10 hours and winning nothing. Trying to level Magery has your first character ever in UO and getting ganked by Pk who steal all of your hard earned ingot.. been here done that.
  3. The only advantage binding your key give you it's .. well. You can target and use your abilities at the same time! You have global cooldown so it's not really like you can use many abilities at the same time. Being a clicky or a bindy you have to watch your quick bar anyway and yer cooldown. The game has like no reactionary melee attack (They're on long cooldown anyway with GCD so even if you're a clicky so rarely miss them. Even in DaOc being a clicker was viable because of /stick . The only mmo where you really needed to bind your stuff to be viable was Age of Conan.
  4. it's funny how people try to justify Sith being not 'evil' . It's like a sociopath trying to justify his murder . Sociopath would go in length and explain to you why what they do ain't doing bad . Well I had to Kill that guy .. Because '1 hours of rants' But in the end they're just &%*/&(* up people and easily identifiable . They should be locked in a cage. Sith are like that. There's a difference between good and bad whatever some people tend to think. Some of you come has borderline creepy with your ramen philosophy. Sith are just like some next door wife-beater believing he's right to do what he do and she deserve the beating. No man .. You're a monster .. It's like those people telling me each day 'We're just animals'.. I`m sorry but I am a human being. I don't poop on the sidewalk and eat with my hands . We evolved and you should do the same.
  5. A good templates at the beginning of TOA and reaching ML10 was not a 'walk in the park'. Plus you had to find a spellcrafter and alchimist. It's was expensive and most of them were doing only their guild or were too busy. So you had to ask in the forum and their price would be awesome. Or you had your own which mean you were far from being a new player anyway. Reaching GM level was A PAIN IN THE BUTT. So I never did it myself .. I simply used my guild mates crafter MP armor did not come cheap either . You also would lose extra imbue points if you opted for 99% Farming scroll ( You needed a group or a buffbot) with super rare drop rates and getting credit for your artifact was not pleasant and very long. I have fond memory of ppl camping spot for day so they could get that frigging arty credit or drop. DaOc was everything but not a casual game and you needed a group. RvR had plenty of imbalances . Also a rr5 gank group pre made could beat a rr10 pug grp .. Sure. Really? Maybe if all their RA were down. Some class had active RA and most of the time it what made the difference between equally skilled group. Some RA were overpowered like MoC . Some class had their moment also . Like Warlock , Savage , Bonedancer, Cleric (yes yes CLERIC) , Sorcerer , Berserker and Enchanter!! DaOC was not without problem. The open world RVR was the best thing about this game. Plus leveling to 50 ... Yes .. .Day and day camping the same area. It's was WORK. Took me 18 day the first time ... My XP bar keep moving a little .. .each hours after 100000 pull.
  6. She's a wannabe Sith . She try way to hard to fit in. Some Sith are clearly just evil and crazy .. But she seem different .. Maybe because she does not have that zombie face with purple glowing vein. She try too hard to be a monster and that just not working with her lol.
  7. Hide HP .. Fixed Why you ask? Why show it? Does it show my strength ? or critical rating? Does it's show my armor factor? Endurance ain't the only stat. Plus it's always come down to elitist . It's annoying.
  8. If more people were able to control their anger, fear, rage , despair , hatred etc and focus more on the positive . . . Imagine the possibilities! The Sith claim and believe without emotion pushed at the extreme the world would stagnates and collapse and thus SITH are the cataclysm of change and prosperity. The Jedi are more like Tibetan Monk.
  9. The Star Wars universe never had this 'sterile' and ultra urbanized and 'clean' feeling that Star Trek or futuristic space travel story had. Remember it happens in a far far away Galaxy. Hell you have Knight in shining armor that roam around the galaxy in Bath Robe and Plasma Sword. It's the whole concept of making the story in a different galaxy so you can mess up with what we see has humanity standard. It's does not happens in the fiture. It's happens somewhere else. Also making a 'city' with the scope and intereactivity of a real world city would be impossible. But because video game aren't a narrative story like a movie you can't hide it.
  10. Yes she was awesome!! she was actually quite a powerful Sith but she was 'self' competing against the PC. She had much willpower and not enough wisdom. She acted like a spoiled brats who don't know her place yet. She always wanted to 'prove' herself when there's nothing to prove. Too much pride in that body of her. She was not arrogant or confident but prideful. I never though she was annoying just miserable. She kept stabbing herself for no reason.
  11. Not going to happens . PvP is different with the like of World of Warcraft in 2004. Daoc was at his best during Shrouded Island and if you played back than it's was awesome. The game had problem though. Like buffbot. You needed 2 account to compete. The game also had each month a new overpowered class during the first 5 years of the game. Actually the interupt system was just fine . it's made the game much more strategy has caster were really powerful. So you had to interrupt them. DaoC was very badly optimized but it was one of the best looking game at some point. Zone would crash etc and seeing entire raid of 150 ppl being killed because the boss was bugged. Although Game Master were really friendly . Hell each class had their own Leader which were for the most part very well known player voted by the community. I have fond memory of Relic Alarm clock raid early in the morning and alliance between both realm. But at the beginning everyone was just pvp'ing in Emain Macha until the New frontier. Which sucked more I think. Now DaOc is just like every other mmorpg. A very casual game with instant gratification instanced dungeons. Because that what the player want. Daoc was a much more social game has you needed a group to do anything valuable. It's so different from today . Back in 2001 mmorpg was still pretty much a niche market and DaoC was hardcore. Now all those people joining new mmorpg have some experience or a lot of it from different game. They expect everything to be casual and instant. In DaoC at the beginning you was send there with not much indication of what to do. Today MMORPG are mainstream. It's nothing like DaoC or UO. Thing changed a lot. Now everyone want to 'have fun and do their own stuff' right after logging... No need to prepare thing and socialize because the game does not force you to do it. So they made every mmorpg a carebear and casual fest of boredom. Before you had to do some planning. Now you just need to play a lot. Since this is what gamer of today want.
  12. yes!! When Darth Maul wait to duel Qui GON!!!.. At 2 minutes!!
  13. Vette is a Twi'lek . AKA a race where slavery is common sauce and their woman are portrayed more has sex object than sentient being. Plus you're the one in charge in every story. Plus you're a frigging Sith Lord if you romance Vette. Who was treated her whole life like a second class citizen. It's just make sense lore wise.
  14. Indeed . But the amount of player running around with that super rare Tuscarian Glacier Axe of Apocalypse was so rare anyway . How many people had Dragon Gear or The best cloak in the game? Plus it never gave a super advantage anyway. The chance you had to face him 1 vs 1 was so tiny that no one cared. RVR was open world and not instanced grindingbattleground made for the casual gamer. Casual does not mean play less. It's mean instant gratification gaming. You had realm Wide objective with relic to capture and a sense of purpose within your realm and alliance(which needed coordinate effort realm wide) . PVP in WoW or Swtor it's a grind fest of bigotry. DaoC PvP will never happens against. Not with instanced PVP. The concept of realm effort and open frontier was the true reason DaoC was unique with the strongest PVP. Hell I actually enjoyed getting owned by the best Infiltrator of the server. It's was so rarare to meet such a player and they had strong reputation server wide. Nothing like PVP of today.
  15. It's canon Vader. He's slow and weak.
  16. The animation are longer but the cooldown are the same... Same DPS.
  17. THey need to rework the skill tree . Period. A mage in Full plate armor with range and heal should not exist. In pve they also shine . Only using death from above and tracer missile was getting old I rerolled. Now I am playing and leveling a Marauder . A Melee class with no range ( some ability are ranged but 10 m with long cooldown) medium armor and no heal. Hell I`m not even sure I outdps My Bounty Hunter. I don't have the burst for sure and having no range you need a pocket healer in both PvE and PvE. The marauder tree so bad anyway that my main tree is the universal tree and I put the left over in carnage and annihilation. So Yes ... The game ain't finished and some class are doing much better than other even though they're much more boring to play (BH) . I see no reason to not spec tracer missicle. The dot tree is awful and the heal tree is great for the left over. If you want a full healer better just spec a Sorc.
  18. I'm not even sure my Sith is romancing Vette. She's so ankward. Im at chapter 2 with almost 6000 affection and no kissy kissy. Weird.
  19. Sith believe they're the supreme form of existence in the Universe and everyone who ain't a Sith should be purified by their lightsaber or be under their mighty control. The old Sith empire has a problem though. Since all Sith think in absolute. Every of them want to be at the top.Which eventually will destroy them and thus the Rule of the 2 take place long after the Sith empire was destroyed. Sith only care about themselves and their power/control. Whioch in the end will be their downfall.
  20. Jedi Knight was boring me . It's super cliche of a story and my companion are even more boring and goodie to shoes. Also there's so many Jedi Knight running around .. I felt just like 'another' running errand in my bathrobe. Sith Warrior is awesome and will be my main . At least he look like a warrior and my companions are just super awesome. Bounty Hunter act 2 .. that when i flushed it .. Repeat. Another 'hit list' .. Boring. Being a merc sound fun but you're just in the end another thug Imperial agent bored me also. The cell terrorist thing get old very quickly. Having to support Kaliro for almost 30 level turned me mad. She's the most annoying companions ever. Also Yes it's easy to lose immersion when you stack 75 quest and try to do all of them in 1 run . It's easy to lose the track of what you're doing. Yo uend up wondering what they're talking about because you were doing another pack of 15 quest before continuing this one. So sometime I just do 1 quest at a time so I am completely immersed. Also sometime it feel like a 'race' . Like everyone is racing everyone . It get on my nerve
  21. Of course the old republic empire was an Authoritarian government based of dictatorship and beating everyone into submission. And really only the Sith killed themselves. Most of the Empire were not Sith just like the Republic was not Jedi. it just that the Sith controlled the Empire while the Jedi were working for the Republic has 'Knight' and space hippies of love.
  22. Min/Max is so bad. It's destroy the purpose of a story. Although BioWare made some effort during some conversation. Your companions do not always react good when you pick light or Dark side but often more situational. I always had problem to interpret their dialogue choice. It's not always clear. The option seem to be more about what your character 'think' and not what your character want to say and sometime the opposite. So it's not always clear and my character often end up interpreting what I picked differently than what I though. Min/Max gamer just want to please their companions or raise the light or dark bar so they can be at their best. I can respect that because.... ...you will often miss game content if you don't do it. One of the reason gamer tend to meta, min/max in the first place. That why video game will never have the narrative of a movie. A movie it's that .. The story . While a video game it's content that you unlock when you pick the right answer so it leave less option for telling a story . I think affection bar and light/Dark bar should be here a hidden metric. The consequence should be determined toward your action in the game and not a metric bar that 'calculate' your action or just hide it altogether so we don't have another bar to grind.
  23. Because love his selfish. Has a Jedi and a light sider you need and want to love everyone. Actually Love is permitted because has a Jedi you need to be empathetic but not passionate. You're a space hippies. Love and fear of losing Padme it what made Anakin turn dark side. He wanted to save the loved one with all his power. Force user aren't like 'normal' Human being. They drain on something dangerous that can turn them psycho. THey're much more concious than normality and can see echo of the future depending of their mood. Akanin had horrible vision because of his fear of losing a cherished one. Which made him mad.
  24. You sound condescending. You can have plenty of fun in PVP but when all you do is reading complainer on site forum you end up hating PVP before even trying it for yourself. Imbalance happens in every mmorpg. Pure balance is impossible since each class have a different role. There's also Skill difference and gear difference but you have to live with it. I also hear often the whole ' I have a life and blablabla'. The insecure always trying to find excuse for sucking . When I ran into a pre-made in Daoc with my RR4 Pug and our group got demolished I did not cry or pretend I was too 'great' for this . They deserved to win because they planned to win. This mentality of wanting 'everything' right in the bat destroy competition. Competition will always exist that you like it or not. Every game even Shooter have tons of Imbalance. You just have to dig it and find a solution like the winner do all the time.
  25. Dark Age of Camelot 2001-2005 (when I played) . The game had the best PVP and nothing will ever immerse me that much again. It's was mostly because of the fantastic community . Daoc was a hardcore game but everyone had their place. RVR was about taking Keep or defending your own keep . Capturing relic and controlling the war Zone. Leader emerged for each realm and some other gained bad reputation . VN board at the time was awesome. But eh it's had tons of problem . I spammed doublefrost like a pro back in the day . CC was horrible in beginning . Ever seen a group of 15 people mezzed for over a minutes? But it's gave the game a 'feel' that no other game has ever done to me. Realm abilities not long after the game was released was released with free game content like Darkness Fall . DF was controlled by the realm who controlled the most keep (man that was awesome) . Awesome Keep siege .. Epic relic raid clash of hundred of player and epic LAG of doom lol . Problem is that today every player want their action RIGHT NOW . Daoc was the best PVP ever because of the player playing it and how it was designed. It's was not easy gearing your toon at the release of TOA but WORTH it. SInce when the RVR and fun started you had a blast.
