  1. Mando heals here. Working on machine core phase right now (best was 7% /cry). If I go over 5k that means it's really bad pull. Numbers are really high only in phase 1 really. Later on there is much less healing. What is more problematic is coping with spikes that happen if something goes wrong like invisible blade in the group, or tank taking big spike. There are pretty long phases where I am mostly DPSing. So it's all teamwork and not taking damage. Phase 1 it got much easier when we found positioning that let's me cleanse debuffs almost immediately and when we started stacking on active tank as healers to take advantage of AOE heals.
  2. If it's guardian/jugg taking the force leach you can get nice DPS boost by burst healing him while he pops saber reflect.
  3. You don't need more then 52-53 k HP to survive biggest spikes in 8-man HM and healing efficiency is actually an issue this tier. In some fights there is more healing to others then to tanks. Tanks taking less damage helps. I/E is the cause shadows rule as usual
  4. I see no reason to use B-mods unless you're going for Revan undergeared (which you're not).
  5. I already said what my grief is with M&B. Apart from that it's easy to tank. Cora is a delicate dance between circles not to get frozen and yellow guns RNG. Ruugar is boring you just that there and wait with trigger finger ready to taunt. Revan is comparable with NiM Council I'd say. I heal for new progression so I only done floor one as tank. Backstab mechanic is simply stupid (Rugar does it too).
  6. Commanders are boring as hell on any class. Glorified trash pack. Hands down worst boss in the game. I even prefer Nefra... I really can't see how tanking M&B can be fun if you're not VG/PT. Fighting getting stuck after knockback all the time and not being able to run back or bomb exploding while you're kiting Master is really frustrating. I have done it on my main, I would do it again, but it's one of the few fights I'd actually get lazy and heal or DPS. Also the amounts of bugs in this fight. I got knocked off the platform the same second Master died last time we did it. No idea why, it just blew me off. As to general thread and OP. I thin there is very little incentive for good tanks to PUG anything. You have big chance your co-tank will be bad, random gear has B mods (which I don't use), if you fail you will get blamed, people will want you to run some retard tactics and so on... You will probably also die most and pickup the most repair bills. For what? for a chance of a token that if guild needs you geared will get you anyway. I will tank in PUG's but that is with friends from progression guilds or really easy content, but generally there is just no point. If there at least was something to buy for elite/ultimate comms. I don't know like even deco's or something that converts into good money? I can imagine I could tank more GF ops if there was way to get money for it as repair bills from progression are killing me with current lack of crafting economy.
  7. Last time I was tanking this on my shadow I only hit the debuffing abilities to refresh and it was fine - no enrage. Problem is usually AOE's are used by DPS on tentacles and those hit the boss and can dotspread!!!!
  8. Had the 30+% enrage a couple of weeks ago when healing for some group. Simply don't panic it's still fine. Just spread out FAST. Person who has the orb will have to finish it. Healing is interesting but not very hard simply you need to heal to full and tanks need to keep taunting. Have the tanks call out who is tanking next and if it goes to someone else have that person pop something. We were one DPS down due to something and we killed it, I was low on energy towards the end though. If you have new gear and routinely do it if you don't panic you can surely kill it that way.
  9. We had trouble doing it with 1 tank - tank kept getting the curse. We switched to normal 2 tanks 2 heals group and killed it after few attempts. I don't see healing through the mechanic in 8-man as possible.
  10. I done it recently with 8 and dog melted away just after first cast. I think I was hitting him with debuff for a bit because healers didn't have anything to do anyways.
  11. It all depends if certain code has certain flags I guess. Some abilitgies look like AOE in game world but are reflected, some doesn't and it can't be reflected. Saber reflect works with apparently AOE attackes for which resilience does not. Who knows. It's a general mess.
  12. You might as well claim they discriminate against blind and deaf people, or mentally disabled people, and they also don't take people without hands into account, oh my! This is ludicrous.
  13. I don't see why people who don't join TS and don't try should be able to clear HM on first week of new content. It's very PUGable, I have no done it more times, with people I didn't know before, or I hardly play with. Of course I will usually not join HM PUG if it's not from one of special channels for raiders. There is no point in wiping for hour with people who can't move out of circles. It's called HM for a reason. That being said of course the fight can be solo tanked and generally had a lot of lazy design, although I must say I find it kinda fun. Healing with 2 heals is really interesting.
  14. He used general statement using word "only". If you make a general claim it takes single counterexample to invalidate that. It's basic logic. There is a lot of things that you can criticise about the new instanced boss, but not being puggable isn't one of them. I though it wasn't as well when we first killed it on Monday, but looking more into it and then fact that you can ditch one tank and take one more healer or 5 DPS depending on how good your healers are makes it very puggable and even easy.
  15. A guildie of mine killed it 4 times on Monday night in various PUG's. I killed it last night in a PUG. Your argument is invalid.
  16. As a healer in this fight you're stationary from start to end, unless you pick up the anti-tamper devices which I sometimes do. If you do that be sure you are able to position yourself while healing
  17. So? You move out about 5 steps out of fire and keep deepsing. Don't walk back into it It's not perfect but it's not a game breaker. To be fair most of the time fire is not even an issue if you stack up on the boss when he does Wookie rage.
  18. I did it in HM last night with a group I never run with (was subbing for a tank in a progression group with a friendly guild) and we one shot it. More visibility, less hassle. What's the deal? All that rage over what exactly? Just don't stand in bad and you'll be fine.
  19. Yes, this usually happens when rock is very close to the boss.
  20. Idk, on a healer you just pop a defensive and use your speed buff to get away from the adds when they spawn on the map while tank goes to intercept them. We 2-manned this boss with a guildie on release as 2 sentinels we got from GF died instantly to orbital strike cross thingy. So we had time to experience a lot of it with our low DPS as tank and healer. It's a bit rough to heal I admit, but nothing undoable.
  21. If your healers really can't keep up with the damage you don't necessarily need to swap, but at least taunting from range by tank on U2 helps. One tank being hit by both bosses makes healing inefficient as there will be overheals and panic heals, burning of cooldowns etc. My group generally just swaps on this boss. Also everyone needs to be very responsible for their own health on this boss. I did it first time on operative DPS this week and I used some self healing to ease on the healers in critical phases. All classes have defensive cooldowns, self heals or other tools they can use there.
  22. They always spawn in same spots, after some practise your tanks should be able to drop their last circles on top of them. Sometimes one will stay alive but that is not an issue and can be healed through. Most of the deaths I see on this fights is people stacking too much during lifters or fire barrel or whatever it's called. It's all about everyone doing their best to stay alive and not any raw damage or heal numbers. I have done this in PUG's with extremely undergeared toons (healed on Sorc in 180's), just don't stand in bad that's main priority.
