  1. My server could use more Imperials. Quite some Republic vs Republic Huttball on my server.
  2. Lol, having to create content for a third party addon... that is one of the most absurd things I've ever heard. And a valid reason to unsubscribe. Maybe the content wasn't actually that more difficult, but the addons made people more stupid so it seemed more difficult. Yes to combat logs. No to any kind of meter, personal or group. They're simply not needed to be an excellent player.
  3. If you need addons to be an effective player, you fail to start with. Having a decent knowledge/experience of all classes should be more than enough. Finding a decent skill rotation is incredibly easy if you just take the time to know your skills. If you're a good player people will notice. If you're a bad player people will notice that as well. There is absolutely no reason to have addons. If you can't play effectively without them this isn't the kind of game you should be playing. Having different experiences because your teammates have different rotations and builds improve you as a player. If everyone turns to one build because "it is best" you become a lousy player. No to addons, learn to play.
  4. I'm only partly amazed that so many people find this a bad change. For me it makes perfect sense that only direct damage interrupts taking/defending an objective. The reason I'm only partly surprised is because there are a lot of ranged easymode players, with very limited skills. I assume they're the vocal opposers on the forums. Someone who actually cares about PvP would welcome this change. It makes skill and tactics matter more. I'll welcome a more dynamic fight in Alderaan and Voidstar. Defenders will have to move more instead of being lamers ranging things down with death having no consequence. If you get killed now, you better hope your allies have some battlefield awareness. To the ones relying on DoT's for objective interrupts: You might want to learn to play already, so you won't suck as hard when the patch goes live.
  5. Huttball is skill, and getting in a sucky team is bad luck.
  6. It's funny to see all the sorcerers getting so defensive. They seem to have the uncontrollable need to put a lot of chained *'s in their posts, confirming the infantile image I have of them. I can understand why they get so defensive. When the nerfhammer hits, they will have to reroll to a new class. The new flavour of the month (probably Bounty Hunter (ironically also ranged)) will be less easymode. This means the class might be too much for them to comprehend. I'd love to see these easymoders play a melee class. So many viable skills to use, unable to cower next to a pillar or on a platform. I hope the nerfhammer hits hard and fast, I'd love to see the dispair. On a sidenote, 'nerf' may be read as 'redesign'. And yes, as a republic melee character, I think Consulars deserve the same.
  7. I consider myself blessed with common sense and adequate tactical insights. I must admit my first huttball experience was a bit overwhelming, but I did know my skills. As for the other two warzones: How hard can it be? If you can't grasp the essence of Voidstar or Alderaan the first time you're there... something might be very very wrong. And again: having no pvp experience is no excuse for not knowing your skills.
  8. That's not an excuse not to know your skills though. A Jedi Guardian never taunting for example. There is no excuse for such a performance. I'm a DPS specced guardian but that doesn't stop me from spamming taunts.
  9. If I have to pick one thing, I suppose my biggest disappointment is the sheer amount of unintelligent players. Too often, especially in warzones, you see too many people unable to make a good decision or showing tactical brilliance. There are too many lemmings that don't know that doing the objective will net far better rewards. Instead they simply join the zerg and accomplish nothing. It's like they need an addon to tell them what to do because they lost the ability to think
  10. Yes. But that shouldn't have to go with an enrage timer. Just make the bosses hit hard enough for a particular mode and allow the content to be cleared by setup able to survive. Making them run out of time is lame and pretty much kills having fun experiments with unusual setups. A slow and steady approach should be just as viable as a DPS race. If everything is on an enrage timer it is just poor tunnel vision design. Flexibility is what can make content fun. I agree everybody should be geared appropriately for what they do. An undergeared player results in the others having to work harder to compensate. But that still doesn't mean the better geared player is the actual better player. I'm sure we can both agree on that one.
  11. Absolutely not! They passed the gear check! Their gearscore is over 9000!
  12. Depends on the boss. If you bring enough heals you can go a very long way. A "gear check" says absolutely zero about skill. In all mmo's you can see people with great skills and poor skills. You can also see people with average gear but great skills. But to go back to enrage timers: just catering to the ignorant masses. Making facerolling dpsers feel important because tanking or healing is too complicated.
  13. Have you ever done The Watcher in LOTRO? You could do it slow and steady, you could do it for an hour and not make any progress if you were clueless on the tactics... It was a fun and tactical fight where you wiped when you did it wrong, not when you did it slow.
  14. Or he has a wider knowledge of MMO's than you. You've played limited games where every raid is a DPS race and to be fair.. that does sound boring and stupid. Thankfully I have played MMO's where there were actually very fun fights that required tactics and DPS wasn't all that important. In my opinion, the (over) use of an enrage mechanic is a lack of creativity, which is a pity.
  15. Had you read my posts, I have clearly stated "as long as it isn't a DPS race". Nice try though!
