  1. Am no math expert but assuming the average numbers we are talking on most servers are averaging somewhere between 700 and alot less on many servers , its definitely not a good thing. Just thinking of those players logged in.. X amount are already grouped in dungeons or raids on any given level and in different parts of the SWTOR universe like Fleet , hutta, illum etc. X amount are doing pvp warzones according to their levels 1-50 X amount are questing and doing dailies according to their levels 1-50 X amount are focused at the GTN and credit gaining There is no global chat to link all these players lest they have alts etc to do more group stuff X amount playing SWTOR as a single player or a couples game X amount still are logged in and afk doing rl stuff X amount arnt afk but they are sort of. ie being told off by partners or playing with the kids or answering phones All of these kinds of variables make the world seem thinner even if there are some kind of numbers that say otherwise (not that these numbers are grand to begin with... No wonder people cant find others to play with ... add to this the problem of server caps and other things (In overall kind of numbers that are actually subbed I will be curious as to what happens to the numbers once people like my self are excluded from the math altogether . The official is 25% but we know it is much higher with the dishonest unsubbed being included. ) In answer to your question about the RP community.. In this game i didnt go RP server but i did in the last one. Generally people stick around for eachother on RP servers for mostly alternate aspects of the game, this is not to say there is no competitiveness rather the opposite , but in a different sort of way. I wonder however how long it will be before the Rpers guiltily give up their friends on SWTOR in favor for another game. Honestly this game does not hold too much for an RPer. There is nothing much to collect or RP in this game, toons and companions basically look the same, the back stories of the toons and companions and their legacy are weak and linear at best. The promised epicness simply is not there. I know it sounds like I am bashing but I dont mean to, I keep comming back hoping for change. I admire the RP community. If not for them then much fluff would not exist in many games leading to a flow on affect of happiness for many f the rest of us. SWTOR. Woulda shoulda coulda been awesome. It was released too early, problems dealt with too late, Old engines used, quick buck sought and no community ever designed to help support the player base. The RP community is master in most games of helping create community through similar interest. The rest of us need a community framework implemented to a degree. Given a couple of months I suspect even the RP community will give up. Afterall despite their own creative awesomeness there a=s only so much they can do. And there are other titles on the horizon which will promise and no doubt deliver more then what SWTOR has
  2. Unsubbed but watching forums for change. I agree game is lifeless lacks depth on any level. Toons all look the same. Story dies at 50. Nazi forum mods. No reason to act as a guild. Pvp started ok but most changes in1.2 killed it for me. No world to explore nothing to collect outside of datacrons. No hidden quests or anything really..Dead GTN, Boring crafting, It would have been ok if targeting solo play with a friend. Alot could have been overlooked but grinding credits for stuff not worth the credits etc etc just isnt my thing (and I usually like grinding coin in games) No global chat, world feels dead even for a solo play game. If life begins at 50 in the rl world it dies in SWTOR. Legacy system kinda meh and nothing I want to aim for in it Also hate the story lines wich were touted as awesome prelaunch just kinda stop with nowhere to go. Waiting patiently for the secret world. Its gotta be better then logging in then wondering why I did
  3. Nope: Was originally suckered in by friends to play based on its ip, was a refreshing change till 50 first time round mostly cause of its player base. Nothing innovative: Come fifty the same old same old happens raid, warzone and dailies and people turn narky as in other games The stories seem to stagnate after fifty No hidden quests etc (warhammer actually had these and actually kept me interested way past its used by date) Nothing outside of datacrons to collect Sideways decisions that split rather then unite the community Pvp on a downhill slide Eternal need to grind credits and lots of them for not much of a payoff All toons look kinda the same Too many missing basic features No global chat On the up side think that the future could redeem this game a bit for many as feature that should have been in game at release become more and more available with every patch, unfortunately many others will be playing other games by then ...
  4. Just realized I dont have a security key set up to access the game ... Have donated X amount millions in cash and prizes to my guild ... And no matter if I stay or go as long as I dont have access to a security key ... I will never be able to look at the tabs that alot of that gear has been stocked in .. Security key to determine rank really is a garbage idea
  5. I am one of those healing sage lowly 50pvpers so I cant speak to high lvl. However I did wonder alot about pre fifty pvp and why I enjoyed it whilst post 50pvp appears more of a chore then fun. The OMG you have to be so serious even if you are in a pug I can ignore. However, The answer i came up with was survivability . As a healer I accept that there are times that the other side will come after me. But what annoys me is that when they do I dont stand a rats chance in hell... i dont know about numbers or the silly new stat they introduced nor do I care. But I do know I am sick off interrupt stun stun stun die and I can only break this pattern once before I am dead. So I was thinking that a way to combat this in pvp is simply to be given an extra cc break or temp immunity or both. I miss being able to duel at times pre fifty and thats ok I can deal but the cc is a killer and something needs to give
  6. Credits by the time you are 50 and capped commendations. Cost so many hundreds of thousands to train your lvl 50 skills and speeder then if you continue to pvp after 50 about another 300k for recruits gear... There is no way you will make enough unless you play the gtn
  7. makes sense Terra gets released and i think gw2 not long after
  8. This is especially relevant to new 50 pvpers who are 1. often belittled for thier lack of gear and 2. targeted on basis of their class.. it wouldn't be a perfect thing to do esp with all the other complexities around pvp but maybe it would help.
  9. Agree recruits is not a formal prerequisite for entry lvl 50 pvp ... many dont know about it. I know I didnt. On my alt was nearly vote kicked out of 2 pvp warzones ... nor did i have the credits to get it. Alt was shelved for a week till transfers happened so I could afford it... I know from experience that others have had similar happen to them. I also know that early 50 pvp is not fun alot of the time for low geared peeps ... as some have said in these forums peeps will look for (a. the class to mash and (b.the low gear. So it results in spending too much time dead and just feeling deflated by the end of it I think also the xmas lights which appear above peeps heads to say which class is which should also go in pvp. Its not needed.
  10. What happened to real gamers? its simple.. they got beaten down by other gamers and wow style game design
  11. I am all for pvp pve mixed gear... but the fact of the matter is alot of peeps play mmos to be around peeps but group play is a headache for many ... many soloers have no problem with putting in the time and actually want the gear for whatever reason (a just in case thing maybe that they choose to play with guilds etc) The fact that people who are clever enough to think of systems question the relevancy of solo players is actually in my view a little pompus and part of the problem for solo players. Interestingly enough even on a very populated server we see may who wont even join guilds, reasons for this are many .. however, solo players do make up a good percentage of overall gamers in mmos and do need to be considered. it is not something for nothing that is required. But rather a respect by so called group players and choices that is needed for solo players so it becomes their choice whether or no to do a dungeon run or grp wz. many so called group players lack respect for soloers despite many soloers actually being good gamers. This arrogance is a mistake and needs to be addressed as it is in big part the reason a soloer may choose not to group up. There is alot more i would like to ad here but will leave it there, suffice to say a little humbleness by so called group and leet players would go a long way for the inclusiveness and future group participation of soloers
  12. Its nice that mods "encourage" you to use already existing threads when they close them but Silly that you have to search google or community or whatever for threads started a century ago, then scan to see which are closed or moved or not (and there are so many) then decide if you wanna add more to the already bloated pages if they do exist. Kinda disheartening ... Post a thread in community? isnt community supposed to be lots of voices? The forum system that SWTOR has is so tight that it appears that only one type of view is allowed openly and if its not that nice it feels buried under millions of other threads Then theres starting a thread... BW should probably create some sort of search system that narrows down the forums into the most complained about so that you know what is what and where is where and if it is worthwhile posting at all . The forums are too tightly moderated and silly to navigate despite its pretty appearance. Doubt there will be a change but as I cant get onto my game I thought would post ...
  13. I loled and actually am glad this was posted... dont think I woulda gotten the republic emblem if not for out of game merch XD
  14. Gotta love it too when you are trying to zone into a warzone and it takes that long you get warning msgs saying you have been inactive for too long... even better when you finally do load the warzone and the barrier wont allow you to get through -_-
  15. ^^THIS^^ and just to ad to this crafters could also be busy building fluff like junk for the spaceships or concocting pets in bio or pure awesome alternative appearance gear that can be augumented etc... problem is that aside from what has already been said about better than crafted being so easily available there is nothing other then stat based, raid based gear and speeders being crafted. Stupid really so many credit sinks and such a pain to make em now everyone has everything
  16. Sigh tis 5pm my time, just got home, everyone is settled for the next hour or two, I am really tired wanna mindlessly play my game of SWTOR but I cant cause of down time -_- Dont get me wrong I like things being fixed dont care about the downloads.. but really 5pm on a Friday? Am over tired dont think there is a point to this point other than to complain I cant play and that it is silly for this time of day. So mod if there are millions of threads like this (feel free to move it or close it I am just too tired to care)
  17. never played wow .. but i think it was rift and swtor that have not exactly put me off mmos but rather made me more cautious.
  18. Thankyou for this thread i woulda freaked when I first dced and saw error 6 .. but I think error 9000 has to be added to this list. There are 2 of us who have this msg atm .. Its ok being patient and singing kumbayah whist renewing faith in the developers ..
  19. ^^THIS^^ also if you are noticing people heading towards endgame you will slowly need to figure out the endgame stuff like loots and stuff ... One other thing.. believe in your guild and what you think it can do head in that direction.. believe also that you are capable... tall poppies tend to get questioned alot and sometimes peeps try and take over (seen this alot) dont let this happen. If you have an idea about how you think your guild should be then you should have some faith in that .. flexibility (but not too much that you are overun) also works wonders
  20. Lol you are either a good troll or really need to l2p ... either way if for serious me thinks the next post by you will be "OH NOES PVP SERVER DYING! BIOWARE AT FAULT!"
  21. Its really annoying and makes the forums harder to navigate... If you are aware of certain threads being popular please sticky them or something.
  22. LOL you think that tab targeting is bad in this game .. wait till you try one or two of the newer games about to be released... after trying them I think that tab target in this game is a god send
  23. Alot dont like vent ... think vent and other chat is mostly associated with raiders and core type players... more casual will more likely respond to chat text rather then vent. Also this game being based on casual play chat is probably another way to really consider incorporating peeps that would be more likely interested in your events. It interested me in watching the banter in two guilds the reaction to the new pets that SWTOR has introduced. It really was in this case a thing about those who used vent regularly were less interested then those who used vent from time to time if they have to. The ones who played in vent more often I found were more likely interested in gear and progression rather then fluff and visa versa with chat. It was interesting watching the little spats break out too about why the hell you would be interested in fluff. personally I love it and hope to see more
