  1. If the 9 chapters so far take an hour or less to complete, then this is a very short expansion, not sure that will keep people subbed till the next chapters are released, and even those they didnt give a date, simply said it would be sometime in 2016... one per month, so that's an hour of new content per month? They really need to release new flashpoints and operations in the mean time to keep things interesting.
  2. From what im hearing from friends, its less than 10 hours to complete all the chapters, so thats pretty short, 2/3 days and you will be done with all the story content and be left sitting there waiting for the next chapter that comes out next year. I think it was a big mistake to launch expansion without new endgame content.
  3. I also havent figured out where to access the solo flashpoints, those i have tried dont have any option to select solo modo, only normal or hard mode. Not sure what im missing.
  4. Sage/Sorcerer is much easier to play than a Scoundrel/operative, as healer. The resource management is simpler, the healing mechanics are simpler, your force (energy) efficiency is much greater as a Sage with your force bending mechanics than it is with the Scoundrels upper hand mechanics. Overall, having played both class (Sorcerer/Scoundrel) and currently leveling a Sage, i would say that i would never... ever... choose to play a scoundrel healer over a Sage, the former is just less aggravating and less stressful class to play.
  5. Nope, i´m simply inspired by the hottest singer in the known galaxy
  6. True regarding the sage, im assuming its the mirror of the sorcerer (with the exception of the current aoe heal inequality between the 2 classes). As a sorcerer i´m never bellow 90% force while healing trash, even if the group is taking aoe damage, and even in hard mode flashpoint bosses it´s rare that i go low on force unless some oh **** moments occur. The difference is our force bending abilities and how our heals "feed" off each other. I have heal combinations for every situation, including an easy low maintenance ability that regains 10% of my force pool every few seconds. As it stands, sorcerers/sages are the standard of healing that no other class can even come close to reach... it´s a pity because smuggler is so much more fun to play with while soloing and their story is so much more amazing
  7. My own experiences on this lead me to a simple behavior i always stick to, if im screwed over by any idiots DPS or Tank rolling on gear thats an upgrade for my sorcerer, i just leave the group mid flashpoint without even saying a word... If they are entitled to act like *****, then this healer will be an even bigger dick about it. Everyone goes on my **** list of do not group with ever again.
  8. I will at least level as a healer up to 50, to get a hang of all the healing mechanics, and play around a bit on the level 50 content before i decide if i want to continue with the sawbones spec. Stats wise i´m coming from a class that tends do disregard alacrity in favor of power, crit and surge. Being the scoundrel so focused on hot´s, is alacrity worth it or should i focus on crit and surge?
  9. Thanks for all the feedback. Indeed the classes looks like it involves much more attention than what im used to with my sorcerer, and i dont know yet if thats a good thing or a bad thing. A more adjustable UI, especially the chance to move your procs and hots to center stage on your screen would make for an easier time. Another question to all you scoundrel healers out there. Have you done every HM (non bugged) flashpoint out there and how was it healing through them? It all fun and games when something is complex but rewarding, but spending an hour as an extremely busy and stressed out healer is not my idea of fun
  10. I think it would be nice to be able to run flashpoints in TOR, would be awesome in fact if i didnt have to wait 3 hours spamming general or the custom LFG channels just to find a group... i guess thats hardcore? If so... then im hardcore for sure!
  11. I mostly agree with everything the OP wrote, but im willing to wait until the legacy system to see if the game evolves into something that deserves a monthly subscription. Quoted the above passage for a reason, it baffles me as well and might be the reason this mmo will end up failing in the long run, incompetent management and detachment from the community and what SW truly represents.
  12. Hi, As the topic says, my main character that i´ve played through pre-launch has been a sorcerer healer. I only go with healers in every mmo i´ve played because, because it´s the only role i feel that is not static no matter how many times you do the same encounter. I can safely say that i´m pretty good playing a sorcerer and have played most level 50 content with the exception of operations without feeling that the sorcerer and the healing mechanics it provides as a class were in any way challenged to their fullest. That being said, i decided to try the republic side of things and started a smuggler with the intention of specializing in a scoundrel healer. At the moment i´m level 24 and questing in taris (bonus series) and have run groups through esseles, hammer station and athis as a healer. Overall its an immensely fun class to play while playing solo, it´s fast paced, has nice animations and the story is really great (coming from the inquisitor one)... The problem comes with healing in groups. Every time i do something more challenging like an heroic 4+ or a flashpoint i feel like im pushing it with the scoundrel, like it takes twice the amount of effort to do half the amount of healing output of a sorcerer for example. I never felt "comfortable" or at "ease" with the scoundrel healing. My questions to the scoundrel healer community are these: Is this just a phase during leveling until i get all my abilities? Is the scoundrel on par with other healers? because it doesn't feel like even remotely on par with the sorcerer.
  13. Then again, anything can improve the consular, inquisitor or trooper stories, even if its 3 chapters of hunting down a mutant space chicken through half the galaxy.
  14. This. They allowed too much with the current class stories. How can the Jedi Knight for example continue from his ending without a let down in "epicness"?
  15. Your wrong... fast travel in SW:TOR is just like Star Trek. You can use your fast travel beacon inside buildings, underground and call a shuttle to pick you up indoors and instantaneously travel to where you want to go as long as you have it discovered. So Bioware has a precedent to allow for fast travel do ship and planets, they just dont want to allow it.
  16. I think these questions and comments were honest and without malice. Theres no need to troll and aggravate the people who dislike the current ui setup for healers.
  17. You can start with HM´s as soon as you hit 50 if your not all in green´s. BT, false emperor, foundry, they are all easy as hell to heal through.
  18. Theres already an extensive thread about this, why make another post if the issue is the same?
  19. I manage great, as a sorcerer healer im having 0 problems healing hard mode flashpoints and pvp (usually ranked in the top 3 healing done, most of the time i´m easily 1st). First thing is to sort your rotation. You have 3-4 healing abilities depending on your class and you always want them sorted by order of use and assigned to the keyboard keys closest to your was movement keys... Q / E / R / F, with support abilities ideally mapped to your mouse button 3/4 and 5 if you have it. As a sorcerer i have my AOE heal and my force restoration ability (consumption) mapped to mouse while my heals are mapped to my keyboard. Then its just a matter of selecting targets and launching your abilities. It works fast, its efficient and i haven't had a single problem healing all the content i´ve put myself through. Would click healing work better? it might, depending on personal preference and coordination but its absence from the game is not a big problem, far from it.
  20. Over at Kellian Jaro, EU-PVE, fleet (Empire) usually has between 60 and 80 users at peak time and during weekends. Ilum has between 10 and 20 players at peak. I´ve started several alts on the server and haven´t found a single planet with multiple instances besides Koriban and DK with 2 instances each. The game just feels empty, groups for flashpoints and heroic´s are a pain to get even as a healer.
  21. Raiding is supposed to imply a big commitment, both by participating and by preparing with consumables, crafting, and credits. Its a choice that the player makes, to raid, with all that it implies.
  22. From what i saw on the gamesradar video about the legacy system and the ui customization, its clear that by not talking about mods and only showing ui moving and scaling, implementation of an addon system is far from being a reality in the short-medium term.
  23. As a sorcerer you would want to go with the Red + Red + Red one.
  24. Personally im focusing on willpower / crit and surge over alacrity. With basic gear at 50 i´m at 35% crit and close to 90% surge, and i´m loving the big heals that are coming more frequently than not. I just can´t see why i would choose alacrity. I know faster heals = more heals, but i have a rhythm that im very comfortable with, with my skill rotation that faster spells would probably interfere with.
  25. I level as a healer to 50. Nothing to it, you have your tank companions, Khem at first and then Xalek, they are pretty good at keeping aggro, and you dps and heal as needed. As i never played a dps spec with my sorcerer, i cant attest to how much slower a healer spec is leveling/questing, but it felt fine.
