  1. Players standing next to mobs so others will accidentally flag themselves to be ganked. I don't see how this isn't and exploit. They are using dodgy game rules to trick other players so that they can grief them.
  2. Think of it like this. Bioware is Steven Spielberg, EA is George Lucas, and TOR is "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" Just because a man has no official role on a project doesn't mean he can come in, force some horrible ideas, and ruin the whole thing. For example, it being an MMO was probably an EA idea.
  3. I played through the Imperial Agent story and loved it, but I cant bring myself to start a new class. The IA story was awesome, but it took me over 150 hours, the vast majority of which did not pertain to the class story. I cant bring myself to slog through another 120 hours of content for that really awesome 30 hour story. This game was supposed to be all about the story, and the story is awesome (the class stories anyway, not so much the other quests) but the amount of time I have to spend doing other stuff between class missions is just too much. If Bioware ever finds a way to let you play strait through the class story, without needing to do other things to level up for it, I will definitely be back to play the other 7 classes.
  4. Inigo Montoya: "Offer me medals" TOR: "All you character can hold" Inigo Montoya: "Offer me titles" TOR: "The most pretentious in the galaxy" *runs TOR through* Inigo Montoya: "I want KOTOR 3 you son of a ****"
  5. "Baby, please don't go. I'll give you a medal, and a new pet name. We can work this out. I can change." I hope this doesn't end with me looking out my window at midnight to see TOR on the other side of the street, staring at my house. Or getting strange phone calls with heavy breathing on the other end.
  6. Is that supposed to be a picture of the un-subscriber sailing away from the TORTanic?
  7. We don't know if the OP is lying or not, but even if he is, this thread has put some dangerous information in the hands of Bioware/EA. This thread has shown Bioware/EA that they could get away with exploiting peoples credit card info (even if they aren't doing it now) because most of the community are such zealous fanboys that they refuse to believe any wrongdoing on the part of the company. I am not saying that this guy is telling the truth, but even if he was, the responses would be the same.
  8. They wont roll on everything, only things that would be a direct upgrade for their companion. And you also backed up my assertion about the "me me me" mentality. You talk about losing an item to someone, but you're not losing anything. That items doesn't belong to you, it is there for anyone who wants it to roll for it.
  9. They should change it so you cant see what people are rolling or who gets the item. Its the same concept as workers using secret ballots to protect themselves from intimidation by the union. There are a large number of thugs and bullies that try to intimidate others into rolling the way they want them to by threatening to boot them from groups and blacklist them. Bioware really needs to implement protection from such intimidation.
  10. You know, we could drop this argument and get everyone to agree if you all stopped acting bunch of sheep. Four guys take down a boss and he drops an epic item. One guy rolls need for his companion and the other 3 call him a thief. Why is everyone to stupid to ask the obvious question. If it took four guys to bring that boss down, why did he only drop one item? The "needer" didn't steal an item from the group. Bioware stole 3 items from the group.
  11. But you just defeated your own argument. You're not rolling on items in my inventory, and I am not rolling on items in yours. Every argument from your side of the table is based on the idea that you own these items, and that others are stealing them from you. But if you admit that they are not yours to begin with, then how can someone be stealing them.
  12. Wow, you're absolutely right. The rich guy should give the $20 that's rightfully his to the guy who needs it more. By the way, do you have a job? I am currently unemployed so why don't you give me your address so I can stop by an pick up my cash. I think we can start at a months pay. I'll probably be bringing along a moving truck for all of the things in your house that I need more than you. But don't worry, once I take all our stuff, we can both find some guy who has more than us, then we will take all his stuff. It's like a reverse pyramid scheme. I posted this in another thread, but maybe I need to put it here as well.
  13. Why do people keep accusing those who roll need of a having a "ME ME ME, ALL MINE" mentality. That's the way the other side thinks. Let me ask this. If some guy rolls need on an item for his companion, and you roll need for yourself and win, would he scream and yell about how you took his item? Of course he wouldn't. He doesn't feel entitled to the item, just a fair chance at it. But when you lose the roll you scream that you were robbed. He losses a roll: "Oh well, it was a fair roll" You lose a roll: "HE'S A THIEF, I WAS ROBBED!!!" Who has the "ME ME ME" mentality here.
  14. I think the reason this game will die is because the traditional MMO is dying. SWTOR came out during the dawn of a new era and instead of being the first game in that era, it chose to be the last game in the old one. The old model is dying. The one where you charge by the month, then make a monotonous treadmill that keeps people playing for as many months as possible. People are starting to wake up to that scam, which is why every MMO is free to play or buy to play now.
  15. I find it deplorable that companions have gear slots in the first place. I have never been a fan of how MMOs use gear as a means of controlling players the way a dealer uses drugs to control addicts. With TOR's companions system, you now have 6x the needed gear making it 6x more tedious to fully gear yourself out. Gotta keep em playing longer for that extra $15.
