  1. Well, they're asking for feedback on the hooks on the PST forum, maybe you can give a few suggestions there? I don't think there's much they can change before it goes live, but changing hooks might be doable. ^^

I think it would be better to remove the thrash piles from the environment and instead add them as decorations you can buy or craft. You want thrash piles, put the damn thrash back then as decos. You don't want thrash all over your new place, put a...I don't know, sofa there instead?

But, yeah. umh. Back to Arcann. Except that I suppose I don't have that much to say about Arcann right now, been playing the wrong game. :D I'm not taking him to the Rishi sh, doesn't seem like his style.

Nothing to say or speculate on Arcann for me either until I get to writing about him.. loooong way off, or new story comes out. Bets on which comes first? up in the air at this point :p

edit: my smuggler wouldn't even hang around on that mess of Rishi lmao. She actually has some class.

  2. I think it would have been better to sell the Rishi part and the ship part separately. I don't really know what I'm supposed to do with such a big ship, and there seem to be many people like you who prefer the ship but dislike the planet part.

I don't want the ship. as I tried to put it: I wish they had done as much attention to the Rishi part as they did the ship interior. ugh. QQ's but at least I had a good look in person. I can;'t do much with the planet part, it's hooks were really messy for me. maybe if I had more time. I have a few weeks right? lol.

I'd have preferred all the buildings on the Rishi planet section opened up, less trash (and sparks) untouchable / unchangable and without the ship bit (and better hooks placements/layouts) It alone would be a decent sized stronghold.

and yup to keep in topic I took Arcann around for the screenshots xDD

edit: 2 simple things I'd be happier with, on top of junk pile removal: made these as actual rooms , and gimmee this section of the cove.

  3. There are places in Raider's Cove nicer then this hole.. I'm actually glad it's on pts thanks to this.. I can see if I can decorate some nice way and make it semi-passable before actually buying it. *snorts* lol.

Yes I'm still judgy but at least I'm taking the time to actually try it out in person? :p the only thing I really like is the size, even if I'd prefer another smaller one at some point.

A bit of commentary of my first impressions while exploring, as I explored.

it's grimy and dirty, would it hurt to clean up the most powerful person in the galaxy's property a little?

Could do without the static piles of junk there forever, seriously.

it is a large area that the companion is kicked out of at the entrance.

Lots of buildings you can't enter/unlock so barred doors.

Rooms are huge but the hook layouts and sizes are really bad for the room shapes.

I'm not entirely sure what I can do with this one, thanks to these hooks. there's a ton of the big ones but.. those aren't great to break down to smaller hooks.

Beach is eww, but.. whatever, there's a little cave. score. nevermind, it's tiny and it's got an ugly structure in it. eww couldn't give me a tiny bit of nature?

And why is this on my beach??

The little islet is a huge wasted opportunity for more hooks..

Why can't I put anything here? *pouts*

Best thing on the whole Rishi part is the turtle... this is not a compliment.

*sees sparks jutting out of one of my buildings* look, it's even falling apart more

I honestly think they went out of their way to make this place look trashier (damage) then it could have been

I kind of like the holo-neon light things, I'm cool with those.. except that one that floats around, screw that one.

The red tag for "PvP area" kept popping up on a timer I guess. It's not a once off. I saw it 4 times while wandering around in that section

The amount of space in each unlock area is great, worth the pricy price in space and area if not aesthetics (everywhere anyway)

*snort* that building inside looks like the safehouse Theron and Lana used

    I'm lost...

    Have I been this way?

    ooh wooden bridge.

Looks like I can place a.. chair maybe.. down there. small green hook all alone. maybe a lamp? nah trashcan. yeaaah

    I'm lost again

No hooks on that balcony walkway thing? :(

more doors that can't be touched..

I love how big it is, but so many closed off buildings... it is my own little town, wish it was a tad nicer, a few less holes. lol

Jumping down there kills me. disappointed! and squished.

There, right up there where I thought actually looked cool? nah that's not part of the stronghold, jilted.

The ship's a lot nicer, no damage found yet. just as big, nice.

"opens reactor room" woops, sorry, you can't place your sun reactor here. Wasted of a great idea...

Huge improvement in hook placements. I see where they actually cared about now...

This would be an amazing guild stronghold, for a huge guild. I think it wasn't pvp'ers they were going for now, but huge guilds.

    Love the control/command room part.

Why the *curse word* is the ship nicer then the planet part. ugh, I wanted a nice stronghold on the PLANET *whines* not a ship *whines more*

*finds huttball? arena.. how the heck am I meant to decorate that

I cannot drive my mount through the PvP areas, so not only does it kick my companion out, but I have to run through them on foot...

    tl;dr

I really, really like the patrol ship - indoors only, they're amazing. sky deck and the planet suuuuck

I am now very VERY upset at the half-assing of the actual Rishi part after seeing the inside of the patrol ship.

  4. I never used words for the divide i mentioned. I meant those that love this style, and those that hate this style. and for many I have seen disliking it this is also all they were getting for months yet, an unknown time some more story content releases. So you fit in the group that likes that style of stronghold obviously, lol. And that's fine, but I am also within my corner allowed to voice my complete disappointment with it, you got what you like, and that's great! I am getting sick of getting scraps is the only reason I'm a bit more vocal.

As I said earlier somewhere, I loved Umbara Train and that can't be a "home" either, not really.. xD. I wanted an estate (didn't get that) or a sprawling (got that) NICE (did not get that) place on Rishi, all it had to do is not look like a dump or so dirty lmao.

I'm standing on the front place/area now (finally copied the right character that had cash), this place is.. disappointing already in-person. sigh, but yes I'm glad some people, like yourself, do like it. I thought my bar wasn't too high, *points back at loving Umbara" but.. meh

edit: the only reason I'm upset this much: if it had not been Rishi I would not care, like at all. But I've wanted a Rishi one since Shadows of Revan released and I got crap (in my own opinion) in return for my wait :'( that's why I'm upset, of course it's selfish reasons I just hoped they'd do something that looked nice. less garbage and dirty would have been fine with no other changes.. and the companions not vanishing I mean ugh.

  5. That line right there is where they made a mistake and divided the playerbase even more.. they didn't make it look like it could be a "home" or estate as well as a arena stuff one. I did not like what the beach looked like at all, I wouldn't go anywhere near it... But I was tentatively okay to buy it until I found out that the stronghold will remove my companion from me in two rather sizable areas because "you're obviously pvp'ing because you ran through here"...

siiigh, I was grouchy at the aesthetics but was still going to buy it until that was mentioned, siiigh

  6. When I asked them yesterday on the stream, about the possibility of someone coming into your stronghold and attacking you, they stated that they couldn't do that just by visiting your stronghold. I don't worry too much about my companion disappearing for a short time (they normally come right back after you leave the pvp area) and I don't really pay attention to the pvp notice especially after asking the devs what I asked about. It would be a problem if you could be attack by a random person visiting your stronghold. From what I have found there are 2 pvp areas, one at the front of the stronghold and then one area on the carrier which is actually on top of the carrier and you have to actually travel a bit to get there.

I don't want notifications, nor do I want my companion vanishing anywhere, not even in two rather sizable areas of the stronghold, where's my opt out of those "pvp rules" option? that's all I'm asking/bothered by. I was just averagely fine with the SH all the way up til I heard those two things just here, that's just annoying in a really niggly "why do that?" way.

It's not about being randomly attacked.

Travelling isn't it either, I want to be able to decorate anywhere in an sh I spend that many credits or cc on and have my companion around everywhere in my stronghold.

It's fine if you don't mind the companion vanishing in 2 areas that I'd decorate as if they were not PvP places at all if that's even possible, depending on the hook types and locations, but why remove my companion in two areas of my stronghold when I am not pvp'ing? I always love having mine there all the time in my strongholds.

  7. The Rishi sh was a pleasant surprise for me, and I'm excited about getting to decorate my very own pirate town...but I was expecting something more like a villa on a beach, something like Manaan but more trees and nature. It was a surprise, after all. For those who were very much waiting for something like that, I can understand how it must be a disappointment to get the seedy part of Nar Shaddaa with water instead. :/

I'm glad you and some others I've seen like it. But it's the worst one they've brought out so far from what I've heard and seen already :(

I actually liked the Umbara train after all, so it's not like my standards were set very high... I was fine with it this morning but I saw and heard more about it this evening, it just kept getting pushed down a rank each time I saw and heard about more. :/

Guess I cant use in-game for the "theron wedding" or "Arcann retreat" anymore, like I hoped since I adore the rest of Rishi, just not the small bits they used. no way she's living in a dumpster garbage pile. Imagination it has to be yet again.

  8. I don't want my companion to vanish on me, though.

Also, considering that the very idea of PvP gives me anxiety, the red "PVP area" message that flashes on the screen when you walk into those areas isn't something I like. That PvP area notice appears even when the gates are open. I don't want to have to see that every single time I go to the stronghold. It appears that you have to go through there to get anywhere else in the SH, so that pretty much cements my decision not to buy it.

This is getting worse and worse. I wasn't able to find anyone in the sh to invite me to see it on the pts today. But everything new I hear makes it worse, and worse sounding as a stronghold when not planning to use it 100% for pvp.

They should have had a permanent opt out option for the PvP additions (companion vanishing, PvP notices, gates and whatever else etc)

  9. We need Bioware to advertise it on the login screen to get more people on the pts. Not everyone reads the forums, Reddit or watches live streams.

I would say most people just turn on their PC and launch the game to play and are oblivious to other outside media about the game.

I agree, I haven't done much game testing stuff for years (pts or beta's etc) but when it's not spread fast enough by word of mouth/social media or the company itself no wonder there isn't much participation.

  10. I paused the dl and reset my modem, that does seem to have helped a bit. This is just not normal for my downloading experiences with the game. Typically I'm done before my friends on the East coast. This may be a stupid question, but what's the best way to refresh it?

I just closed the client fully and logged in again, swapped back to pts and it started downloading faster. Not a fix all but it finally finished far faster then it was going.

  11. So, downloading the pts is taking longer than the initial game download. At this rate the stronghold will be released before I get on there, lol. I may or may not be over dramatic. There's no way of knowing, lol.

There might be quite a few downloading it, slowing the speeds down. it's super slow for me atm too. I had to do this twice, thanks to the file size being too big for where I had swtor installed initially.

No way of knowing how long!

  12. complete bs that I can not choose the install location for test server, so this crap keeps filling my ssd maindrive and telling me sorry at the end.

***, can you guys not do anything right?

I actually had to reinstall the game off my ssd drive so I had enough space today too. waiting for it to finish downloading as we speak.

  13. I'm only guessing here (and we all know how dangerous that can be :p). But it appears that once they chose Rishi, they needed to use Rishi assets (because doing a fresh design from scratch is too costly/time-consuming given the size of the team). I suspect most of these assets have already been created before in some form. From the videos, it's looks like almost every asset has been in use somewhere in the game before. At best they could have done some re-skinning. But I suspect that the Rishi assets more or less "are what they are" which is why it looks this way. I'm totally okay with this (again, as an ASSumption) as this is an efficient use of dev resources. It leaves more time to deal with issues such as adding in PvP areas, training dummies, and whatnot...

I assume the same, I just think they chose the wrong asset styles, there is nicer stuff on Rishi imo. My imagining was from stuff I saw on Rishi every time I quest there, what we got was nothing like I was hoping they'd go for. Which happens a lot, obviously xD

  14. I enjoy myself some good PvP but I personally don't think they needed to make it look like trash or dirty slums to be a PvP stronghold.. it could have looked a lot nicer and still ticked all the boxes for PvP'ers, or ones like me in any case.

My main worry now is the lag if I tried to join a pvp 'match' in someone's stronghold. The warzone lag can get really bad from my area in Australia.
