  1. Yeah, I haven't even been able to talk to her. Which is weird, because everyone says that she has, like, seven conversations at the start of chapter 2. Did the Aric Jorgan mission and... no sell. Starting to think bug. This sucks. EDIT: Went back to Garza, promoted Dorne, got a missions to Tatooine. No dice. Yep... unless anyone has any alterntive theories, I'm chalking this down to a bug. And I already put a week into this character god dammit...
  2. So I've just started chapter 2, and I have over 6k affection with Elara. She hasn't offered any new missions though - the last one was just after Nar Shadaa, where she recruited her brother. So what's the deal? Is this a bug, or do I need to go back to Coruscant and talk to Garza to really begin the 2nd chapter, or do I need to do that one Aric Jorgan mission on Nar Shadaa that I've been putting off, or what?
  3. It took me 30 seconds to realize you were trolling. You need to make it more subtle.
  4. Gut's animation is not in any way indicative of how the ability is described. It should be wolverine claws.
  5. The same reason Sentinels and Marauders single wield in cutscenes, Troopers, Mercenaries, and Gunslingers all use a single pistol in cutscenes. Because which would be weirder: If an Operative just walks up to an enemy, or if a Sniper stealths up?
  6. You have about 3 conversations when you start Tatooine, another 4-ish when you finish chapter one, another 4-ish when you finish chapter 2, and 2 when you finish chapter 3. There. There it is. Can we please stop asking these questions now?
  7. So... High Energy Cell aside, what about leveling as Tactics...?
  8. I'm an efficiency nut, so the idea that I may be doing something inefficiently leveling as tactics keeps me up nights. Anyway, I noticed that nobody really talks about Tactics much here, and leveling has been getting trickier, so I wanted to know if I should respec or if this is just the game getting harder. I'm level 25, leveling with Elara, as tactics, using High Energy Cell.
  9. This is why you PVP in TOR. Because when something like this happens, it makes it all worth it.
  10. 111. Shut up, Deathmark. It's not like you're helping. 112. Dude, I can't move. There's no need to juke around like that. 113. My death sound sucks. 114. I swear to god when I respawn I'm going to harpoon you into the acid. 115. Is that guy gonna... yeah, he's gonna knock me of the edge when the stun breaks.
  11. Some one them do. Kira, for example, calls the JK 'tough guy'. Speaking of, I can't be the only person who finds the idea of Kira and the JK having children absolutely hilarious? Especially since they'd have to have Doc deliver it. T7 would probably make a good uncle.
  12. I tried to be eloquent and mature in my original post. Honor me by doing the same.
  13. Let me open by saying that this is merely a semi-educated observation of an issue, not a cataclysmic 'will kill TOR' doom and gloom freak out. It's healing companions. For pretty mush every class, once you get a healing companion, you have absolutely no reason to use anything else. Don't care how funny Vette is, how nice Corso is, how much you like T7 or Vector or Kira or Torian. You're gonna use the healing companion for most of the time. Indeed, when playing a Sentinel, as I have been, the first 36 levels seem like an endurance match until you get Doc, and around Tatooine I and many others I know began to hold level 36 as the promised land of the Jedi, when all your troubles will ebb away and the mighty Doc will come and rescue you from the cruel world. I don't know how much of a problem this is, and I've not experienced it in the case of Consular/Inquisitor (as I have played neither), so I guess, share your thoughts below. EDIT: And yes, naturally, healing player characters are exempt from this trend.
  14. The Jedi Knight, at least, doesn't have to be. It's entirely possible to play him as simply a standard hero than an emotionless monk. Case in Point: At the end of Chapter One, It's not much to hold on to, but it's something.
  15. I wouldn't know, but I'll take your word for it.
  16. A clothy like that needs to be. If a good Marauder/Sentinel sets his sights on a squishie, there is nothing in heaven or earth that can save them.
  17. Should probably elaborate on that, will do.
  18. For the sake of ending discussions onwhich story is best, I have prepared a brief summary of which story is what. You will like the most whichever of these sounds the most appealing to you. Jedi Knight - The Hero, the Luke Skywalker, straightup fantasy adventure, swordfights, red-headed Love Interest, Five-Man Band, galaxy in peril, so forth. Jedi Consular - Investigation, mysteries, ancient knowledge, diplomacy, adventures, discovering neat stuff blahblahblah. Pretty much a more intellectual JK. Smuggler - Comedic Adventure story. Basically like the Jedi Knight only more modern and funnier. Action, jokes, romance, jokes, buried treasure, jokes, vengeance, jokes and jokes. Worth noting that while the humour is subjective, the story is undeniably carried by the smuggler and his companions - their snark and odd reactions to problems is what makes it worthwhile. Trooper - Captain America / Soldier story. Basically, he fights bad guys, saves the day, daring rescues, guns are good, go america. Er, Rebuplic. Sith Warrior - Darth Vader. Kill a lot of guys, get respected, get feared, people panic when they see you, be powerful, lead armies, destroy worlds. Sith Inquisitor - Plot, calculate, scheme, rise up from nothing to everything, plot for your own personal gain, be smart. And [shock Him]. Imperial Agent: James Bond. Seduce, backstab, spy, plot, think fast, be a general bad ***. Bounty Hunter: Two people with a gun against the universe. And I say two, because at least until chapter one, Mako is basically just as much the protagonist as you. Lotta guns, lotta tech, lotta fighting, be ******, make money, seek glory, yadayadayada. If I'm missing anything, feel free to post and I'll edit it in.
  19. Picking both shuts it down. Sorry.
  20. Alright, went back to Tatooine, did the bonus series until level 30-ish (technically level 29, but practically the first mob I kill on Alderaan will tip me over the edge and I can't be asked to do any more) got T7 out, geared him a bit, life is getting better. I actually killed two strong mobs earlier (without even using Call on The Force), so that's certainly a good sign. T7's gear still needs work, but it's nothing Alderaan questing shouldn't fix. Massive thanks to everyone who helped. At the start of this thread, I was pondering whether rolling a Trooper would be more painful than ritual suicide. Now, It's looking like I can hold on two more planets until our Holy Lord and Savior 'Doc' joins the party. Really appreciate the help and the minimum of impolite replies. Unfortunately, I cannot send you credits as an attachment to the post.
  21. No matter what advanced class you play, JK leveling is about as fun as the old testament until you get Doc. Or so I'm told. The theory is sound, anyway. JK has no self healing, doesn't solo well without a healer companion. Simple. And sentinels are even squishier.
  22. Starting to think that along with being a general ***, that Valis bloke must've drained my Sentinel's power or some crap, because since Tatooine he's getting worse and worse. Leveling as a Focus Sentinel with Kira. Level 27, almost 28, did the first few missions on Alderaan because they were green and I figured 'Hey, why not'. Ever since The Defector, leveling has been agony. 1. I have to heal after every fight 2. Kira dies or gets to the part where she starts crying for help pretty much every fight 3. I can take a silver mob and a regular mob. 4. A strong mob an two mobs requires a whole bunch of cooldowns, medpacs, luck, etc. 5. See above for an elite mob, but add Call on the Force to cooldowns. 6. Two strong mobs is insta-death. 7. Five regular mobs is the most I can scrape by using only Saber Ward. Kira dies. 8. I have to PVP constantly to maintain level status quo and keep doing story missions. This is the result of what I call 'level hell', wherein I do a batch of sidequests and story missions at a full level lower than the recommended level (often with very little extra xp), and since a batch of missions isn't enough for a complete level, I need to pvp to be the lowest level I can do the next one, etc. I am on the verge of simply pvping for four levels straight, stomping through the class quests, and getting what I have heard praised as the Savior of leveling Jedi Knights AKA Doc. However: I pride myself on intelligence, so I realize that if everyone disagrees with my opinion, I am more likely to be wrong than all of them. Therein, since these forums are not awash with similar claims, I am probably doing something wrong. So, this is ultimately more of a plea for help than anything else. My rotation is generally this; Force charge in, use Blade Storm, use strike maybe a few times, force sweep if there's multiple mobs nearby, Master Strike any strong mobs or mobs at above half-health, spam slash, interrupt and force stasis as needed, use Zealous Charge and Force Charge to close gaps. And yes, after long fights my wrist usually starts hurting from scuttling around my keyboard. What am I doing wrong it must be something help meeee
