  1. Kiddo's don't work, do they? Neither do students.
  2. That's why TOR is declining. Lack of humor.
  3. Well, according to the decline in subs, your dream may be fullfilled
  4. Thanks. Maybe they screwed the engine themselves. But then again, third part software maintenance can be hard.
  5. Uh, do they use it? According to the Wiki and the dev's they use: Rift: Planes of Telara is known to be using a 'heavily modified' version 2.6 of the Gamebryo engine
  6. Does anyone knows the purpose of "Inheritance Mainhand weapon construction kit"?
  7. Quite clever, the free ride to lvl 80. It makes it possible for new players to forget the long struggle to 90, as MoP comes out. By the way, WoW isn't only raiding, there are enough funny battlegrounds to enjoy and I've seen more and more raiders enjoying that before I unsubbed 3 month ago. I think it useless to compare WoW and SWToR as far as mentioning elves or jedi's. Comparing mechanics, technology, possibilities can be usefull. I like to play SWToR and will resub soon to WoW because I expect some enjoying introduction quests to MoP. I hope the BW-devs are able to release 1.2 before MoP, otherwise it'll be nightwork to play bothe games equally to enjoy the new content both will deliver.
  8. Of course I can only speak for myself. I'm playing SWToR since the official release and so does my fiancee and my daughter. Because of a physical annoyance I wasn't able to play more than 1 hour a day and sometimes not even an hour. That made it impossible for me to rush to 50 and to be honest, I'm quite happy I couldn't. I have 6 char's ( I have no alt's, I love them all equally) at the moment, 4 Imp's and 2 Rep's in their 20's. I love the stories, the sometimes irrelevant and totally unnecessary comments of the companions, even the slimey invitation for a foot-massage aboard my ships. And courting is fun too, I love the reaction my girly companions give as I flirt in a story. One of the nice things I encountered was the unwispered, unasked help I got doing some heroics. It made me remember WoW in it's old days. Of course my girl and I do play together, we both have a char we play separately if one of us feels not like playing. That doesn't imply we don't help others, it's meant to be a social game, isn't it? And I must say I have very positive reactions in the game and a lot of laughs. I realise there are a lot of bugs in the game, but I experience bugs in all games I play(ed), as long as those will not lead to a game-over and are fixed I won't complain. So TL/DR: Love the game and will continue for some time.
  9. Can you explain why a game will not last very long without (self-proclaimed) hardcore crowd? Do you think the press will not publish articles anymore? Do you think Gamebreaker TV will stop discussing The Old Republic online? I'm really interested in your answer. I played WoW from vanilla till a month ago. Did a fair amount of heroics as a healer and take some pride that in more than 90% of the cases the groups I was in didn't wipe. And I never ever needed Recount or other add-ons to improve. Reading Forums where more experience healers explained the mechanisms was enough.Well, I must say that I never raided as a healer, so I can't judge the need of combat logs there. I think the solution BW offers suffices. EJ's will analyse the numbers, forums will be filled with their analysis and recommendations etc. That will be enough for me to improve, I'm sure.
  10. Nope, although rumors about a console version are spread for 2 years, there will be no console version.
  11. Yep, here it is, a NOOB question. In WoW I could easily see my FPS. How do I discover my FPS in ToR? Do I need to install some utility?
  12. Thank you very much. I''ll try it right away.
  13. 2. Install DirectX 9.0c (if not already present) The link to the download doesn't work, unfortunately. Can someone post a working one, please? I would appreciate that.
  14. Thrall is an orc, nevertheless I felt sympathy while I was a trol. Any suggestion who can get such a role in ToR? Maybe a new story that will create one?
  15. My heroes? The mother and father of Vette for raising such a nice and friendly companion.
  16. Mmmm, I don't think DX9 is emulated in DX11. It didn't used to work that way. DX11 is an extension on DX10 and DX10 on DX9, etc. The extensions address new functionality of the new technology used in newer videocards. The rendering engin in SWToR uses the DX9 functionality available in the DX11 version.
  17. Flirt with her and invite her for a dance.
  18. I indeed notice that she (Vette) takes her time. But then again, she's a woman. But seriously, I suspect the dev's have build in an unknown, maybe unintentional feature: an open bar means that you, the player, wants to control your companion. a closed one implicitly lets the companion decide.
  19. It's working like intended. It's the punishment for having a multi-tasking mind
  20. Bye bye. Hope you will find GW2 more suitable for you. BTW, you know you can't say "Bye bye" to the audience of GW2 after being disappointed, do you? No official forums there.
  21. Nope, it isn't. Read the info about it, please, before stating things that are utterly wrong.
  22. And, a very wise decision, they do not have official GW2 forums. They gracefully ignore the QQ-ing and whining and focus on the game.
