  1. Only to companions that use the same gear as you. Gear tokens are class-specific, so you can only trade in for your classes' gear. For Troopers, this works out well, since all of our companions use Aim/End heavy armor. For other classes, though, it's not like that.
  2. HEY GUYS, WATCH ME SHOOT LIGHTNING AT THESE PEOPLE! Can I be popular now?
  3. I feel ya. I didn't get my 2piece until valor 54. Before then, opening 60-70 bags, I got 3 relics, 4 implants, 2 chests, and 2 belts(after I got bought the Cent chest and cent belt with commendations, of course.) Meanwhile, someone I watched hit 50 and PvP for two days is valor22, has 5piece, boots, belt, weapon, and one implant. It's totally and utterly balanced, I think.
  4. This is my current spec. I haven't really had the chance to compare it to a full Shield Spec spec, but for the last 54 Valor ranks, it's worked for me. Gut has a few uses among getting a HIB off if Stockstrike is on CD for whatever reason, and it's nice to put on an enemy or two before you die so the DoT ticks while they try to cap something. I'm this spec because the 5 points for 3.8% mitigation is a bit steep, and I've never really found myself Ammo-starved enough to need Energy Blast.
  5. With the exception of stuff such as the last 0.5 seconds when someone is arming a bomb/capping a node. That instant damage from Shock will interrupt their cast, while the delayed damage on project will let them finish the cast.
  6. Tracer spamming Mercs, the new Force Lightning spamming Sorcs. And they act the exact same. Interrupt their Tracer, and nine times out of ten, they'll either stand there waiting for 4 seconds to use it again, or use their knockback and then wait the 2.5 seconds until they can start Tracer spamming again.
  7. I've opened close to 70 bags. 4 Implants, 3 relics, 2 chests, 2 belts. Valor54. This RNG system is utterly stupid. Meanwhile, I see a valor21 Vanguard PvPing for three days, and he already has Champ 5pc, belt, both implants and earpiece. Glad to see Bioware rewards luck rather than skill or time invested.
  8. Sounds like someone's both jealous, and mad that someone called them out for being bad.
  9. The only way I can get it as a PvP tank with Supercommando gear is popping my Power relic and Power adrenal and getting a Stockstrike or HIB crit on light-medium armor. Sometimes I'll be able to crit Stockstrike just over 2500 without trinket/adrenal on light armor, though.
  10. What this guy said here. It's also nice if you can do some hardmode flashpoints/Ops for Biometric Crystals for the Rakata patterns. Having the Rakata Medpac which heals for about 8k, and the Rakata Fortitude Stim that gives 136 End and 56Def is really nice. I imagine people are fairly daunted by my 20k HP.
  11. Basically this. Shield and Absorption chance are our main defense stats, since they scale very well, and tie in with our talents.
  12. I was wondering why I recognized your name. Saw your Trooper in a Warzone one day, and your name made me giggle. (Steelhooves, by the way.) But yes, my Vanguard has been at 50 since the first week of early access, I've done a massive amount of PvP (valor54), all of the heroic flashpoints with the exception of Battle for Ilum, and both of the Operations. All of this has been as either Shield Spec, or a Shield Spec/Tactics hybrid. Open to answer stuff.
  13. Then call them "Centurion Bags", not "Champion Bags". I open a champion bag, I expect to get Champion gear. It doesn't matter if it's considered a 'gift' or not. People who have lucky RNG can be fully Champion-geared within 20 bags, while people like me, who spend nearly all of their time in PvP, have nothing to show for it but the much-worse Centurion crap.
  14. I don't complain about Sorcs because of Force Lightning doing so much damage. I complain about Sorcs because they can spam Force Lightning until the end of time and outdamage everyone else, which requires zero skill whatsoever. It's hilarious when I interrupt a Sorcs Force Lightning and they just stand there for 4 seconds doing nothing until it comes back up. (The same thing happens with Mercs and Tracer Missile.)
  15. Valor 54. Out of about 55-60 bags, I've gotten 4 Implants, 3 Relics, 2 Chests and 2 Belts. The rest comms. And of course I get the chest and belt after I buy the crappy versions with commendations. It's stupid that my companion has as much PvP gear as I do. it's stupider that I've seen a valor19 person with 5piece, boots, and MH weapon. This RNG BS is putting off every good PvPer from the game. Already I want to cancel my sub unless something is done about this. Players should be rewarded for skill/time invested, not RNG. (Also, don't give me that "the more time you spend the more bags you get" BS. RNG still rules.)
  16. This game rewards RNG, not time invested. Just accept it. Btw, opened 41 bags, got 4 items. (2 Relics, implant, and chest)
  17. While the RNG is quite annoying, I wouldn't mind it so much if the Centurion commendations gave you equal-quality gear as the tokens. But they don't, which only increases a further imbalance for unlucky players. Myself, for instance. I've opened 24 bags, and have only gotten 2 relic tokens and an implant token. While my friend got his MH, OH and helmet tokens in his FIRST FIVE BAGS. RNG like that is BS. Gear should be rewarded for skill, not RNG. Edit: Just opened my 25th bag. More commendations. It bugs me when I see a Valor14 player with 4piece Champion, Champ MH and boots, when I'm Valor43 with 2 Champ relics, implant, and Cent chest and belt. Luck shouldn't determine one's items; skill/time invested should.
  18. I open 24 Champ bags, 2 Relic tokens, 1 implant token. Friend opens 5 bags, gets MH token, OH token, and helmet token. It's stupid.
  19. That's not true at all. Looking at my character sheet right now, I have 48.07% Energy damage reduction, and 48.07% Kinetic damage reduction.
  20. And here's some more 'proof' of Vanguards being awesome. This is done as this spec, or lesser variations thereof due to lower levels. Just ignore my Consular images at the bottom.
  21. Even at lower levels, Vanguards can put out a lot of damage. I was doing a Voidstar on my Shield Spec'd level 20 last night, and this is how it turned out. I would have had more Prot points, but my friend was in there with me, so I just kept Guard on him.
  22. You've obviously never seen an actual 'massive bug', then.
  23. My goodness, now people are using the join dates of others on the forums as an argument for their lack of knowledge? This is almost as bad as the "CE VIP KEYHOLDERS" and "I PREORDERED, THEREFORE I DESERVE EVERYTHING" entitlement kiddies.
