  1. You may want to post under the respective Server forum and see if someone there knows.
  2. Given your option #2 is pretty biased, I'll also vote #4. I don't see any reason for me to have a free month, as I have not experienced any of the "game breaking" and "false advertisement" the OP alleges.
  3. Actually, it might be closed because this thread has nothing to do with the game... so therefore, yes, it is off-topic.
  4. That's what I do. If I've died 3 times, I'm obviously doing something wrong. So I head back and try something new.
  5. This is very inaccurate. First, 3 deaths is about a 1 minute wait. Second, "all the way back across the map" is misleading. I've found that the med camp is usually pretty close and you only have two fight 3 or 4 mobs (at most). As people have mentioned, the "time out" punishment is to prevent people from just killing themselves over and over and not actually play through the game. There HAS to be consequences to death, otherwise it becomes pointless to even quest. The combination of repair bills and time out is the perfect punishment for failure. Kind of similar to real life, you know; we tend to prevent death as much as possible due to the repercussions (namely, not being able to live anymore, which is a bit more sever than in this game).
  6. I'll chime in as well and support this idea. Sounds pretty cool!
  7. And I think this is one of the biggest reasons why people get disappointed with MMOs in general. Some people believe that endgame MAKES the MMO, and the rest of the game is just some leveling process to get to the real game. Of course, playing that way, there is always going to be dissatisfaction once someone gets to endgame and everything is the same as other MMOs. However, an MMORPG is ALSO about the leveling process. And the fact that I can group while leveling, or join a guild and do things with them, or play PvP even when I'm not 50 is also part of the fun of this MMO. I cannot do any of those things in a single player RPG, but I can in this game, even if I haven't reached endgame yet. So no, I don't think it's valid to say "Go play a single player RPG", because at least this MMO offers something different than single player RPGs even before endgame. In summary, some people's expectations may be inflated, specifically if they believe that MMORPG = endgame.
  8. I agree with all of your points as well. I'm not saying there are no negatives about the game, but in my experience with the game, the positives have been outweighing the negatives.
  9. I kind of agree that it gets aggravating to have to reactive a bunch of things after death (specially Sprint in Warzones). However, I guess that goes with part of the punishment of dying, no? At first I didn't like it, but I've learn to live with it because it makes sense as some sort of punishment for death.
  10. ATI users may want to take a look at the following thread and see if it helps them: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=95124 It looks like it has helped a lot of other users with their FPS problems.
  11. The trend does seem to continue! I wonder if this can be fixed game-side or AMD/ATI-side?... Either way, it needs some work.
  12. But nobody, at least in this thread, has claimed the part I bolded above. It sounds like you are interpreting other people saying they are not getting low FPS as saying that their cards are faster than yours. Seems to me like misinterpreting. There could be so many different reasons as to why a gtx 260 is not getting low FPS while your 6950 is. Obviously one of those reasons could be the game itself. But it might not be the only reason. I tend to avoid making assumptions because they don't help anyone.
  13. I don't understand why you keep making assumptions about other players. You get low FPS, I get low FPS, other users don't. Why call other people liars when you literally do not know whether they are lying or not?
  14. Yeah I'm waiting to see if ATI mentions something about this. I think I'm a bit luckier though in that I get pretty good FPS everywhere else, including Warzones. It only dips in fleet.
  15. I've noticed this trend as well. Just in this short thread alone you can see it. That's interesting... I have ATI cards, and I do get some lower FPS while in fleet.
  16. I got one a couple of days ago and used the report button on the mail system. I haven't received any since then. It's much better than some other MMOs I've played recently though. Granted, they were F2P...
  17. Unfortunately you can't really regulate maturity. I think the best that can be done is what you did, change servers. I'm in a pretty good server, Veela, but whenever I see general chat start heading in a not very favorable direction, I just turn chat off or switch to guild chat.
  18. Definitely having 320 profession is a problem. That is expensive at your level and unnecessary. I'm at level 35 right now with my skills at around 240's. Anything above that level I can't even use, so there's no reason for me to have my crafting skill at any higher level. Also, did you buy every single skill using those 40k credits? That may be a waste as well. I know there's skills I'll never use, so I don't buy those skills.
  19. I have definitely read a post from one of the developers detailing why they used shards and letting us know they will be decreased after the initial launch rush. I'm trying to find the post but it's not listed under Dev Tracker. I'm going to continue looking because I do agree that a decrease in shards may be necessary.
  20. The reason they might say you are "trolling" is because of your use of hyperbole and exaggeration. For example, there's only been maintenance once this week; last night. Not four times as you mentioned.
  21. I actually really like the prices on things so far. Whenever I realize that a big purchase is coming (new speeder training, for example), I stop crafting so that I can save up for it. Lack of funds also helps me prioritize other purchases (like skills or gear). I like that I'm not able to buy absolutely everything I want unless I truly work for it. Otherwise, credits would feel useless. However, there are some corners people can cut. For my gear, I try to have as much orange gear as possible, so that I can then use Commendations to buy the mods from each planet. That way I waste no credits while upgrading my gear. I also do tend to play PvP quite often, which nets me about 3k credits per game (win or lose). I think so far it's been fine. I do know it's going to get much more expensive later on (I'm level 35), but then I'll do the same: budget.
  22. I also disagree with the OP, and I agree with Mertissielle's sentiment. It is staggering how many people on these forums believe that they are just one entire team working on every aspect of the game. There are different teams specifically working on different aspects of the game. When they work on one thing that does not mean they are not working on another. That is your baseless assumption. It is very viable that the entire team can work on several issues at once and still do it effectively and efficiently. To be honest, this is probably for the best. I would assume that each team is specialized for their specific task; so I would rather have those developers competent in their area working on their area.
  23. Well number 5 and part of 6 are coming in patch 1.1, yay
