To anyone trying to find us ,please log onto Sith Wyrm republic and in the chat pane type /cjoin older that will put you into our chat channel from there you will be invited into the guild . Obviously once invited we will use guild chat, ventrilo or skype.Take your pick You may not have found us earlier because I was waiting for a response from bioware in regard to character transfers .So as soon as I had clarification there would be no transfers I set about getting to lvl 10 along with others from the thread. I reached lvl 10 today and the guild was born "The Older Republic" I can safely say the launch would put bioware to shame lol smooth as a babies botty. Within 2 hours of launch we had 15 members ,each member has the same rank and everyone has equal control and say in how this guild functions .To get an invite you have to have read the thread to know about the chat channel so there is an automatic invite from any member. we can leave the channel open until we feel a need to cclose it . If your comfortable playing in an over forties guild then come on down. Thankyou very much to all the members that have made this happen .

Hello could you share what the issue seems to be I have done quite a bit to get the game running nice ,Only to have to do more after each patch . Bioware has some issues but nothing wrong with identifying potential issues you may be able to resolve . Lots of things you can do ,but You may be a computer whizz and my suggestion could seem trivial . One easy thing to do that speeded my system up was download a free trial of AVG 2012 cleaned up my registry and defragged my hard drives .the program spent a lot of time in the SWTOR files location ,about 15minutes ,considering its recently installed I was surprised. please dont hesitate to post you system I'am sure one of us can help.

Cytrek I dont think your physical location will matter to much ,I want to roll A US server simply because europeans generally have many individual native languages and while most can understand some english its hard to communicate fluently .to me personally its like talking to ozyen fess on skype . For me the guild will be a place that you know the members are at least your age range while the random players can be a lot younger and not likely to have much in common with. If members choose to communicate via skype it won't matter too much whether your republic or you go for a spin on the dark side . I can detect some fun in being able to talk to members of the guild while trying to defeat them at huttball .

Hello , Ok I was the one that said i would help start the guild up ,we initially thought if we got some people from the same server then we would go with that ,but we are all spread out . We have people on the thread from france ,I'am from uk and the majority from east ,west coast of America. So we feel an east coast server would be the best . Master papa has not replied to my most recent messages but there was an issue with my subscription so my posts might have been lost.I'am currently on 5 days free ,so I will just have to see what happens in 5 days. But I'am keen to get things started because I dont want to spend time on characters that I wont play knowing I can be on a server with others of my age range .I didnt realise it but in my guild on wow I started to realise I may be playing with quite young people when our healer had to go brush his teeth and have a shower as we attempted a boss fight during a raid.I suspect others that had to go afk were not as truthful as this young lad. Our Master erm papa ,asked me to pick an east coast server . There is already a guild called stargeezers on "sith wyrm" they are a 30+ age admittance guild . On the thread we have "The older republic " as a popular guild name . We will be pve and republic but the rest is up to us all to form friendships and find out which of us likes what and hopefully spend time with other like minded players . I will start the guild with at least 3 people from this thread ,but as far as leadership I feel each member has an equal say in the way the guild functions just like it should operate in the real world .I personally just want this to happen ,so that I can enjoy the social aspect while not feeling like a parent . If we can roll a character on sith wyrm ,republic .Then post your character name in the thread . We need at least 4 of us to lvl to 10 so that we can name a guild and sign the charter from there we can then put the information on the first page . If people are open at some point to communicate via skype then we can share contact info via Pm or guild chat . Hopefully we can compete with stargeezers for geriatric server first on boss kills lol. I have contacted bioware to see if character transfers will become available or if we have to start our preferred main from scratch,as soon as I hear back I will post here. I will get my char to level 10 and try and get our guild name picked then It will take you players to make it real.

Hello, When levelling a crafting profession ,It costs lots of time and credits like I could have a speeder but spent a lot on a crafting profession. Ok thats fine but to make it worth while I would like to think that it would be intricately involved in endgame content. So to make this happen I feel that vendors should be supplied by crafters . Just like a real life economy .and to provide a percentage profit based on the cost of materials and time and say 15% profit . The gear from quests could be good enough to level you ,but the gear for the same level from a vendor should always be better ,so players have a choice spend credits so you know when you can get upgrades and level easier and faster or save credits and rely on random drops from quests. At endgame it would be great if crafters were needed to make the top tier gear to supply to the vendor ,once a player exchanges a token for a tier piece the crafter gets the credits into his account ,The item should be easily identifiable with the name of the crafter. at endgame crafting to make top class gear and then put it on auction hoping someone buys it tends to put you off the effort it takes At least some of the above points might inspire further developements and make crafters feel like they are a valuable part of the game ,not just a grind that helps the guild progress ,but gives you some pride that someone who has killed a tough boss is wearing a piece of your crafted tier gear . well hope this provokes some positive thoughts .

Hello to all . 45 years old . currently on Goluud corridor . My buddy is on this server so we would go were ever is decided. I still have some issues with the graphics running the game but hopefully it can be resolved.

Its a great way to socialise ,In wow I started to realise That I was playing with people in my guild from around the world. A Family from south africa ,Which one of which i wished sometimes were not our tank as his internet provider were apparantly unreliable ,this caused a few wipes lol. A business lady from dubia. Nice to hear she was playing on a laptop in hot weather while it was freezing in Britian. And many from around europe . Didnt realise I was such an armchair globetrotter. You give me an idea ,I'am going to ask my relatives in Ireland ,America and Australia to get the game and keep in touch through it . You never know.

I'am not sure how many have posted on this thread but I would like to know if there are enough of us interested I could help set up a guild for us . what makes an mmo good for me is the social interaction as much as the gameplay. So firstly I would like to know what servers your on and whether you prefer empire or republic . I propose the server that has the most of us on And the majority that prefer empire or republic should determine were we should at least have a character . I would like us to communicate through skype its easy and free . Dungeons and raids are easy to explain tactics and I have found it much easier to have a laugh. If you post your current server and preferred faction we can start the ball rolling.

45 and 3/4 lol. Had a construction business with 12 employees till the recession . played wow too much but started to try other games because I was losing interest in wow ,This one has all the things I was hoping wow would get ,so I hope they get over the bugs they have ,then I can see myself playing this more. I,am not rushing ,cause I got sick of hanging around the capital in wow at 85, so am gonna focus on enjoying the levelling on different characters ,give em chance to iron out end game. Definitely a good way to escape into another dimension. Trying to get mates to play as a social thing using the free skype to chat and keep up with whats going on. If there is a geriatric guild I would love to hear about it I know you can have 25 people on skype would be nice to play with other oldies . I got in a really nice mature guild on aion but the game ended up to grindy after lvl 20 ,you would have to be brain dead to get to 50 in that so I couldnt bring myself to play it . Hopfully this wont happen here.

Do what this guy did it made me run at 30 fps in WZ and 50 questing using a ATI radeon HD5450 so it should help others I hope .

I too am skint so I have done some research so as to get the best I can economically. You dont include any details so I can only tell you generally what to prioroties. I use a firm local called scan they are online at scan .com if you phone them they actually know what they are talking about which helps a lot. You mention your cpu and that not an issue . 1) Identify which model your motherboard is . Find out how much ram it will handle and max it out .if you have windows 64bit you got 17gig usage potential, 4 gig for 32bit. But to make boards cheaper they limit the slots for ram capability,so you can only use what your motherboard will handle. Ram is the cheapest first option. 2) Graphics cards ,You only have 2 choices ,ATI and nvidia there are lots of manufacturers licenced to use the technology but basically ATI is a lot cheaper and you have to check for updates on drivers and install them . Nvidia are more expensive but they update and install the drivers . performance wise not much difference . On the SWTOR box you have the recommended graphics . The latest versions are ATI 5850 at £109.00 but you can get ATI 5870 at £ 134.00 Nvidia 560 at £140ish The first number is how recent eg 2**** is older than 3*** the rest are e.g lower number bottom of range ,higher number higher end graphics So if you go for like asus,XFX or any other versions of the card visit thier website to make sure you have the most recent drivers,even phone them up if you struggle they will talk you through updating the drivers. 3) At least 650watt power supply . 4) google internet speed check and make sure you got good numbers. 5) to keep it running right you need to be cool get the best cpu cooling you can afford. You can download a simple program to check how cool you are its free just google for it . 6) ingame preferences/graphics turn off bloom and trees, grass to 0%, will help your graphics for now. Based on my research to get mine running to best performance economically lol. First try the setting in my previous post ,worked for me . second max out the ram that your motherboard will handle . Third upgrade graphics card as mentioned . Although similar to wow it wont run well on low end graphics cards like wow will. Its just the results of personal research from experts that i hopes helps anyone like it has for us.

Can I add that in Graphics/advanced ,as well as bloom the conversion depth of field is turned off on mine . In that section all low and grass and trees 0% mine ran terrible before that now its smooth most of the time, But I know that we are borderline ,we will struggle in busy areas. The resolution is 1280-1024 on mine so you can go up to that for now maybe bit more.

Its the Hd5450 mate, I have the same one . Best to get the recommended ones at least . The HD4850 is on the box but the 5 series is the most recent ,the 5850 is £109.00. But for about £130 you can get the HD5870 ,My mate got the nvidia 560 @ £140ish and it now runs perfect. The game doesnt seem too heavy on processor but Most of the complaints I read are from players with good systems but lower end cards . Make sure you have at least 650watt power supply idealy more . I know this game will run with that card of ours but only just and you need the bloom off in the preferences ,the other setting for now best on low till you get a new card. As soon as I can scrape the cash together I will get the 5870. Hope this helps buddy.
