  1. You guys are assuming all 10% (which i think is too high a number) will buy SWTOR. Keep in mind, gamers don't all buy every single game released. It be safer to take that number and cut it in half. So 8%, lets say 4% at best. I still think that number is too high. Stat counters show 8% total MAC OS market share. It just doesn't make good business sense to develop for Mac OS. Which is why MAC OS software is far and few between. Blizzard is a nice company, also a somewhat of a Mac-loving company. Most game development companies never release MAC OS at the same time as the PC version, it is usually a delayed release if at all. Look at Blackberry, higher market share then MAC OS comparatively, yet such a small number of Apps compared to iOS. Same principle. This has nothing to do with hate or love. Just isn't simply worth it at this point in time. We will probably see a MAC OS client a year or 2 down the road.
  2. Really? Because I am running Bitdefender at 3 of my major clients each with over 100 Users, and we haven't had any issues with false dection. O.o
  3. BitDefender regularly ranks in the top 5 for virus dection. Not sure why you guys are saying "eewww". Its a good product.
  4. By your logic, iPhone and the iPad are trash, because they sell so many of them? Run for 20 minutes, I dont even understand that comment? The ENTIRE E-commerce world runs on Windows... I am pretty sure if it was a un-useable, unstable, unreliable platform the business world would be unable to funcation. It is amazzing how well the Apple brand brian washes people.
  5. I've never been able to understand why though? You pay 2x more for the EXACT same hardware, usually worse specs. The only way to jusify it is to actually believe the MAC OS operating system worth that insanely inflated cost. Which it isn't. Apple seems to be able to convice the near-retarded computer users that Apple is some magical OS that never crashes and never get viruses (why write virsues for an OS no on uses... thats the real reason). Most people with a brain laugh and go buy a real machine. Being in the IT industry I cannot bring myself to buy an Apple computer, I feel like someone is stealling half my money when I do so.
  6. Incorrect, go do some research. The highest numbers show about 14.04%, however when you average out all the statcounters to get the most accurate esimtate. You get 8.92% Windows has an install base of 1.25 billion Windows machines. Apple may be doing well in the mobile space for the time being, but when it comes to devices that do more then watch youtube videos. Microsoft is still king.
  7. I read somewhere that at the guild summit someone asked for population numbers. And they said nearing 3 million? This could be complete BS, who knows... The game seems healthy to me population wise though. Zones/Planets feel about as populated as WoW did. Kinda pointless though until they release official numbers.
  8. Definitely impossible to compete with a game of 12+ years of develop (About 5 years to make and 7 years of patches) SWTOR has 6 years under its belt. No matter todays technology, it still takes time to developmenet games. HOWEVER, SWTOR definitely has way more potiental than WoW. Which is why I canceled my WoW sub and put in 6 months for SWTOR.
  9. My wife is giving it a try right now with me! We both started Republics together (I already have 50 sith sorc). We both played WoW together for a few years. I told her this game is way more fun, especially the leveling.. probably 100x more fun actually. We shall see what she thinks!
  10. Agreed. I am making a Jedi Knight as my next 50. PLEASE FIX!
  11. DROID!!! How awesome would it be to some sort of customizable battle droid!?!?
  12. I am going to be honest here. I have yet to run into any player on my busy server who has said they do not enjoy the game. As a previous poster mentioned. It is the same 100 forum posters posting the same dooms day responses over and over. The majority of the population is having a blast!
  13. Troll is troll I guess. Interesting how these are opinions yet you act as if you can argue them away?. Can't wait for all these hater's/troll's subs to run out so we don't have to read made-up garbage or non-construtive negative comments.
  14. Loving the game. I am also subbed for 6 months. Main reason what keep me playing. Voice over + Bioware story telling + Starwars IP = Freakin Awesome Extreme attention to detail in combat and effects Amazing envoriments I have my own freakin starship! Companions are freakin awesome Leveling is actually fun I could keep going, but I'll leave it at that for now.
  15. I am a huge supporter of this game, and love it to death. I have no problems on my server population wise... however I would like to see more people. I love MMOs to feel crowded... just busting at the seams with lively activity! So with that said, I am a huge supporter of maxed out servers. Merge them!!, max them out!! Most people play MMOs to be around tons of people... hence why they play an MMO!!.
  16. I have minor issues, but overall not bad. Keep in mind everything can be fixed. WoW's engine had major improvements through its life cycle, including adding Quad-core support etc. Bioware has already made so many improvements, and they will continue to come in.
  17. Interestingly enough Blizzard added better Fire, water effects, and Quad core support to their MMO Engine way way after game launch. Yet people for some reason think Bioware won't be able to improve the changes needed in this engine.... seriously people wake up. When it comes to programming, anything can be changed. They have made huge improvements over ability delay over the short time it has been released. I'd take a guess in a short few months most major issues will all be addressed.... just like WoW's were.
  18. People seem rather confused on what a Game Engine is. Please read this to inform yourself. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_engine I have seen some laughable posts talking about "game engine" problems and that they "cannot be fixed". If you actually understand what a game engine is.. you'd understand that when it comes to code, anything and everything can be changed or fixed. My programming Guru friend use to run a RUNUO server (Ultima Online Free Server). RUNUO was the game engine. The RUNUO game engine had/has several issues, my friend ended up re-coding 70% of the engine. Last time I checked, Bioware has coders. And last time I checked, code can be changed. People need to stop worrying about the Game Engine. WoW's Game Engine had many issues when it first launched. Now it is one of the smoothest and most staple MMO engines out there. Bioware can do whatever they want to this Game Engine, and build it up to be as good or better then any other MMO Engine.
  19. These threads are getting so old. I swear its the same 10 trolls I see trying to call the doom doom card over and over. Can't wait for their subs to run out.
  20. Yes Subbed for 6 months Why, this game kicks *** and is a breathe of fresh air from WoW.
  21. Great post. Agree 100%... I played WoW from Beta until Cata release. This game has blown me away. Story is so important to me, gives meaning to what I am doing. Somewhat "grind-ish" play can turn into extremely entertaining when there is some meaning behind it. Bioware, keep kicking ***, but also, keep improving. Fix bugs, add great end game content... add some much needed features (LFG), and I'll be subbed to this game for years.
