  1. The game is loads of fun, and I personally keep coming back to it. Started out around release, just after christmas 2011. Nice to read about a new player who is enjoying the game, on my home server even. Joining a guild would be a smart choice, and it does not matter how 'good' you are, in many guilds you will find friendly players who are always willing to help and/or answer questions, me included. Red Eclipse is a fun server, loads of friendly folks there.

  3. I personally don't find pvp areas difficult to avoid. There simply are few of them. As a general rule, stay away from hubs and med centers of the other faction. Besides those, there are the pvp areas on Tatooine and Ilum during the Gree event. Reputation was not in the game at release, it was added later. That's why you don't encounter much reputation tracks and such while levelling. The planet Voss has reputation gains from heroic quests there, and after that you will encounter reputation from level 50 onwards. The only exceptions are the KDY flashpoint and the mentioned reputation from the Cartel Market. From 50 onwards there is reputation from daily areas and the new levelling planets (Makeb, Rishi, Yavin). There are two pvp quests in a free-for-all pvp area, the other quests are pve. But be careful about getting a pvp flag by accidentally targetting a flagged player while fighting mobs. Some griefers actively try to get players flagged that way. Also, if you try to heal or revive a flagged ally you will get flagged as well. The Gree Event is perfectly doable without doing any pvp imo.
  4. The previous expansion was released in April 2013 and became free for subs in September of that same year. So for SoR it will likely be similar. So wait for an announcement in a few months or so. Might be somewhat upsetting for those who bought it, but see it as a price to play it early. If they don't do this the game becomes less accessible for newcomers. WarCraft also started to make early expansions free recently, to the point new players only lack the most recent one. BioWare chose to make it even more accessible, which I agree with. Some more love for those who did buy it I would not mind though. Last time only some lame title was given out.
  5. As far as I know the weekly cap only got removed for the Cartel Market reputation tracks, so you can spam to legend in one go when binge-buying packs. The 'normal' reputation tracks still have their cap.
  6. Another one for Warrior. Spoilers for Taris.
  7. Both Ship Droids... "There were complications master please don't deactivate me" I WOULD IF I COULD YOU ***** PIECE OF *****! Skadge. At times, Treek. She just can't shut up and keeps going on about her "legend"... S.T.F.U! Broonmark. Useless Talz. Boring. Bowdaar. Whiny Wookie who just can't shut up with his annoying growls and is a ****** tank too.
  8. Jedi Knight: Human. Miralian/Miraluka also works of course. Jedi Consular: Miraluka/Miralian. Smuggler: Many species can fit here. Have a Zabrak myself. Trooper: Cyborg. From combat wounds and for increased efficiency. Sith Warrior: Sith Pureblood. No contest. Sith Inquisitor: Female Twi'lek. Fits perfectly! My (male) sorc is a Rattataki. Also fits. Imperial Agent: Chiss fits here quite well indeed, but Human/Cyborg works too. Bounty Hunter: Both of mine are Purebloods, but Cyborg works the best here I think.
  9. Ran a heroic yesterday on Alderaan with my (then) lvl 33 marauder. (The one on the high platform with planting ' evidence' on corpses). The group also featured a Sorcerer (dps) and an 32 Operative. The last I don't remember the class from. But this story is (almost) all about the Operative. I think he thought he was a Sniper, because all he did was sit in cover and snipe. With the occasional rifle shot and I think I' ve seen a grenade once or twice. Nothing else. Sometimes many seconds without doing anything at all. I have seen ZERO uses of his knife (backstab, shiv, etc.). He went into stealth ONCE after I asked the group to please use some CC to make the fights easier (There had been multiple deaths already). In that one pull the sorc & he both cast a cc. Best pull of the heroic. But after that he reverted to sitting in cover not doing much. I finally made a comment about it and he responded saying he has ' only 2 knife attacks'. Nothing changed after this. He never used his vanishing move when near death either. And to top it off he also was quite under-geared for as far as I could tell. I admit, Im no expert on playing Operative, but on my own (lvl 31) almost all I do is stalk enemies and stab/poison them. The op in the group did not cast any heals either. Then again, no off-healing from the sorc either. Im just happy I finished the heroic with zero deaths of my character, but Im quite weirded out by this sniping operative...
  10. I think it would be much better if legacy names are made unique once again and all character names are linked to your legacy. That way character names no longer have to be unique, because identification will be based on legacy (or account). Personally I never have much trouble with names being taken, but this would be a possible solution for many. And/or a second round of name purges would also help a lot. The game is nearly 3 years old now, a nice moment for a new purge. Maybe this time even bigger than the previous one. Flag every character on accounts inactive for 2+ years or something. That seems reasonable enough.
  11. This does happen. For example: Running around in a big class story instance, queue for a FP pops. Run the FP, come back to find all mobs in the instance respawned. Has happened multiple times. Or having to log off unexpectedly in the middle of an instance and to find everything respawned when you login again.
  12. Just got kicked from Red Eclipse near the end of Athiss HM, can't log back in. It immediately gives a connection error.
  13. Looks interesting, but not much information so far. I am very curious about the details. And please, don't forget the players who don't like space and/or pvp. A surprisingly large amount of players, I bet. What does this mean for the regular schedule of updates? Will we see update 2.5 in the near future too, or is it just this until February and nothing else? I understand 2.4 just got released and contains quite a lot, but players ARE going to yearn for new stuff very soon. So, do we get an 2.5 update before the holidays, or will we get the biggest (non-space) content drought since the 1.3-1.4 gap? Don't get me wrong, space sounds interesting and all, but I do wonder about other stuff...
