    Neutrality

I was aware of the matrix cube but I'll need to read up more on it. Figured it was the only relic option. Thanks.
  3. Exactly as Zero said. The cap for planetary comms is 100 so given you've reached it, there's no reason not to spend at least a few on outfitting a companion as you'll earn them back quick enough. As for which companion to gear, generally your healer is the best bet but if you're playing as a deception assassin a tank like Khem will make it much easier to get your backstabs in.
  4. Looking to roll an agent soon and for once I'd like to play the class and its decisions based on each individual scenarios as opposed to the pure light/dark side approach. Question is, I know this will hurt my ability to pick up relics early in the game as they're (all?) restricted to alignment, so is there anyway I can mitigate this i.e. find relics elsewhere. Also, are there any other downsides to playing a character that whilst not neutral will not be close to Dark/Light V?
  5. Pretty much everything's been covered. Only point I'd add is that Jugg/Guard is similar to WoW's warrior in mechanics/playstyle and Shadows/Assassins are closer to Paladins.
  6. Thought as much but thanks for the info!
  7. The Scalene Leggings (Pants/trousers) that are available from the Gree event and the market are something akin to what I've been looking at for my female shadow. However, I was wondering if there is another piece similar in design (and similar to that worn by Shan) that I can get without dropping 6/7 figure sums of credits/ cartel market coins?
  8. Regarding the stealth issue, there are abilities (such as infiltrate) that allow you to cloak other players even if they're non-stealthers. As far as I'm aware there is no penalty to healing so they may well have been healed via a healer or pickup.
  9. It's already been said about Nar Shaddaa - you shouldn't be heading there until around level 20. As for the runes mission you mentioned that's a Heroic 2 mission which really requires at least one other player. Focus on content for your level and if it's heroic group up with other players. Quests are colour-coded by difficulty: Grey (trivial)-> Green (easy) -> Yellow (around your level) -> Orange (challenging, but still possible) -> Red (will be very difficult). As a general rule though just try and run with other players period - it will make everything easier and faster and you stand to get better loot too.
  10. Almost level 48 and I was hoping those of you who are experienced in the elder game (even with the 2.0 changes) could point out what's the best course of action I should take once I hit 50 to gear my character. I plan to buy RotHC so should I just focus on getting to level 55 and then worry about gear or are there opportunities at level 50 I can take advantage of?
  11. You're probably already aware but just to make sure, you can delete existing crew skills to select other ones (the only limitation is that you cannot have more than 3 total crew skills and only one can be a crafting skill) so you're not stuck with your first selections. Just beware that if you delete Armortech to take Cybertech and decide to return to Armortech your skill will be back at 1.
  12. I have no issue with the cartel market, but it would be nice to have just a few toys thrown the way of subs rather than just waiting for one content update (reserving judgement for 2.2).
  13. Thanks for the info. I'd already factored in the OS and I'll need to fork out for a network card too but that's pretty cheap. I'll upgrade the RAM then as well and, as you said, I can easily upgrade as the years go on, but for right now I'm happy with decent performance compared to my current several minute load screens choopy fps etc
  14. http://www.ukgamingcomputers.co.uk/hemera-custom-gaming-pc-p-99.html Would something like that run it ok? Again, I'm not too bothered about top settings graphics just a smooth experience. I'll give it a look but the laptops very cool for all other purposes and older games so I think I need to bite the bullet and get a desktop.
  15. Not going to lie, with price being the biggest issue I may well give it a go, but I will blame both of you should I cause an explosion. Thanks for the info!
  16. I've never really been a huge PC gamer and only use my laptop to play a few games. It has never had great performance even with low graphics settings but its done ok. More recently my laptop has started to struggle to the point of overheating and rebooting randomly. At this point I have to change something and I'm looking for advice as I've very little knowledge on PCs. As I said I don't care about running the game on high settings (low is fine) I just want a stable, smooth experience that doesn't reboot randomly. My laptop only has 3GB memory and uses about 1.3 of that just through Windows 7 so I know I'm short of memory to run SWTOR. Question is, would a simple ram upgrade be sufficient (I'm using 64 bit OS) or should I go for a tower; in which case what's the cheapest options available bearing in mind I'm happy with low settings just a smooth, stable experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  17. Already been mentioned, but I wouldn't mind a blue mage-type tree that's sole focus was on buffing and supporting other players though it could also offer debuffs too. Would help shakeup the general group structures for warzones and ops/fps.
  18. As the game currently stands there is a sizable difference between Sentinels and Guardians in terms of dps. However with 2.0 Guardian dps is getting buffed to bring it more in line with Sentinels. The consensus seems to be that Sentinels still are capable of higher dps but the gap is far closer.
  19. I rolled Empire, but it had nothing to do with good and evil. I prefer playing a class where I feel as though I follow my own rules/motivations so I went with a BH though I was thinking Smuggler for my main. Truth is, I've sampled both the trooper and both jedi classes and I just feel like a mindless drone of the Republic. I know there will be those that disagree, but that's how I felt so in effect it leaves only one Republic class I fancy playing.
  20. I meant purely from a AC perspective (all other things being equal). I understand that Sentinels, despite being melee get a slot because of what they bring to the raid, but the remaining slots seem to be filled with ranged DPS. Basically what I'm saying is; would you deny an AS Vanguard a spot because your preferred 30+ meter ranged DPS?
  21. How likely would it be for an Assault Specialist Vanguard to get a slot in your raid party?
  22. Depends on you what you want to be. If you're looking to tank the Powertech ST will serve you well. If you're looking for DPS then Powertech Pyro will work well for PvE and PvP, Mercenary Arsenal works well in PvE, but not PvP. If you're looking to heal, pick another class.
  23. Merc: Bodyguard - widely considered the weakest of the three healers. Arsenal - good for PvE but very limited in PvP Pyrotech - fairs better in PvP than Arsenal but is vastly inferior to the Powertech equivalent Powertech: Shield Tech - A viable tank spec with a pull and a charge. Very few defensive cooldowns but has strong mitigation making it good for PvE, less so for PvP but still of use. Advanced Prototype - solid but looks weak in comparsion to Pyro. Pyrotech - last I checked it was considered one of the best DPS specs in the game.
  24. Can you tell me how long a DPS has to queue for a FP? Previously been a healer on Republic so no queue times so to speak. I'm keen to roll a DPS but I'm also aware that the time spent queuing could be lengthy.
