  1. I think it's better than nothing, no doubt. However, I believe their lack of direction with the Sin class is a fantastic example of how they will address questions. Most classes will be asking about balance in some way, shape or form. If they can't address one unbalance since Makeb, how are they going to handle a hard three balancing issue questions? If anyone understood the shadow community, they would understand the concern we have here. There have been multiple numbers given to prove what we're saying. There are multiple situations where we given them the information, and naturally, there have been thousands of suggestions on how to tweak the class. And all we get is, well, nothing. It's still sad to see that end-game for a shadow is reroll.
  2. I agree and disagree. While I don't like the general direction of games, I feel like it's the casual play that has ruined it for the older gamers. I can tell you ever single person in my first guild in Ever Quest. You didn't play the game just as an escape of realism, you ended up playing the game for years because of the people you came to know. You relied on them, and they relied on you -- for years. I can't say that I've been in a guild for longer than 8 months in the past three/four years. The previous 4 years before that, I was in three.
  3. I was wondering about my measuring threat in torparse. I play a shadow tank, and this is what it's looking like on some fights: [NO NAME]: 672,618 (51%) [PROJECT: 222,191 (17%) [TELEKINETIC THROW]: 187,861 (14%) [sLOW TIME]: 111,943 (8%) [DOUBLE STRIKE]: 109,298 (8%) [COMBAT TECHNIQUE]: 54,917 (4%) They vary depending on the fight, but every fight does have the "No Name" ability. So my questions are, what is the no name (taunt?) and for a shadow, are the abilities I'm mainly using correct? If there's room for improvement, please let me know. I'm new to this and seem to be doing pretty good; however, if there's more I can do, I want to know it! Thanks
  4. Shadow spikeness is only a major problem if you don't overgear an area. Obviously NiM being one of the hardest challenges, but even HM is quite spikey if you're not up to par. With that being said, you should be fine in 55 HM dungeons with the gear you're wearing. I would just play smart with CC's & defensive cooldowns, and always keep an eye on your healer's mana.
  5. Right now I'm in the process of gearing up, and from what I was originally told, you want your defense ~20%. Mine is sitting around 23%. With that being said, would it be better to go with a relic like: Shrouded Crusader - Increases Shield Rating and Absorb Rating by 265 for 30 seconds Shield Amplification - Shielding an incoming attack grants 550 Absorb Rating for 6 seconds Since absorb is so good for Shadows? Thank you Nevermind. Found the answer in another thread:
  6. I'm shocked that they are aware of this problem and haven't even taken the time to do a bandaid in a patch until they can think of solid fix. The more I get into the end-game aspects as a shadow tank, the more shocked I am to see content that cannot be completed solely do the fact of RNG.
  7. The three questions I would like to see answered are: 1. What avenues are you currently considering in order to fix the spikiness of Shadow Tanks? What methods of testing are you producing in order to know these avenues will be both successful and balanced? (While the first question is the question I would like answered, going into depth with the second questions allows players that provide testing and numbers to the community to also be able to help provide additional information to the team.) 2. In order to increase dps for the average-skilled player for Infli/Balance, has the team looked into increasing AoE DPS, updating Phase Walk, and/or increasing DoT durations/increasing base dmg? If not, what ideas is the team considering? 3. Due to lacking in almost every way (especially in PvP), what does the team consider the role for Balance to be? Will there be any upcoming changes in order to enhance the spec?
  8. Looking through your site I see: Right now I believe there are raids: Tuesday 7 PM PT (Team Revan) - Artivan Wednesday 6 PM PT (Team Fource) - Solarys Wednesday 8:30 PT (Late Night Team) -Laaw Thursday 8:30 PT (Late Night Team) -Laaw Friday 7 PM PT (Just Wing It) - Parthena Saturday 6 PM PT (Honeybadger) - Obideuce Saturday 7 PM PT (Just Wing It) - Parthena Does this mean that there are constantly changing raid times and teams? For example, Team Fource looks appealing, but is it only on Wednesdays? And is it a free-for-all (i.e. first person to sign up gets the spot) or are there recruiting spots for particular groups? Thanks!
  9. Hey there - I'm currently looking for a guild to do a bit of raiding in. About Me: I'm new to SWTOR, but definitely not new to the mmo scene. I've raided for ~7-8 years in various games such as EQ, EQ2, WoW, Age of Conan, and Aion (which granted, there wasn't much to raiding in that particular game). I'm not a guild-hopper, and once I find a place I enjoy, I've always stayed for years. I don't do drama or guild politics. I like to bull ****, get along with people... and kill things. I work as an engineer at a Chemical Manufacturing plant in San Diego, and while I put quite a few hours in between work and traffic, I have a very set schedule. I can easily commit 2-3 weekdays between the times of 6:30 PST - 10:30 PST. I don't mind staying up later for progression's sake. (In fact, I'm one of those weirdos that find progression five hundred times more fun than farm-bosses). About my Toon: My name is Khalette in-game. I'm a Shadow Tank. I hit 55 this weekend, so I'm still in the process of gearing the toon out. By all means, I will do everything necessary to gear it out before raiding. I'm not someone that expects a free-ride. I would be willing to try DPS; however, I've only tanked on the character, so there might be a slight learning-curve. Oh, I'm also a pvp junkie - so if you like to do some of that on the side, I'll be with you! And while I realize some character that just hit max level isn't the most attractive thing, I have the dedication and skill that would make me a great asset to your guild. Anyway, send me a message or reply here if you're interested in having me around!
  10. I think you guys need to go a bit easier on Kitru. He has been an absolute help to this community. For the most part, I think He's just had it. We've all been fed up before and we act a little more harshly than we would typically act, and that's the case here. Unfortunately, when provided with thorough research and evaluation with suggested not-god-mode fixes, there was no response. It wasn't until someone acted rash enough to get a warning did Eric make a comment. If anything, that just trains the community to act more rash than what they originally were acting like.
  11. I'm a Pub. Ques are pretty fast no matter what level you are. I've figured the time of the day is what determines usually wins or losses. During the week day evening, there are very few games I win once I've come home from work around 6 PDT. On days that I can play in the morning, it seems like a win every time. Regardless, I'm pretty happy all around with the PvP on this server. I definitely think if you're looking for a change, this is a great start.
  12. Thanks for the help so far. When relics say, "When you heal an ally..." does that include when you heal yourself?
  13. I wonder how bad you have to be at a game to make "Questing" become a challenge?
  14. I won 12 games in a row. Then I hit lvl 55. I've lost 18 games in a row. Just when you think you got a break
  15. I'm a new player, and I've been reading around trying to learn more about my class/spec as a whole. So, even if it's just the answer to one question, all feedback is absolutely appreciated. [ 1.) Where can I get a parse for SWTOR? 2.) I am surprised to see so much self-healing. Personally, I'm pretty sure I'm not taking advantage of all of the abilities that could possible proc self-healing. Which ones do? 3.) Because of this self-healing, would relics that proc additional healing be better than relics for shield absorb/defense? (I know it might sounds crazy ) For a fresh character that is just gearing for 55; is it best to do 50 HM dungeons or get the 55 pvp gear for tanking? Is there an ideal spec for tanks? To be honest, there are some pretty random talents on the tree, and I just kinda sit back like -- why would someone use this? I think there are some mechanics I'm overlooking because of it. Anyway, thanks for the help!
