  1. This is what happens when unregulated augmentation research is allowed.
  2. Your math is off. You don't dip under 1% probability until you make 101 and fail.
  3. I'm almost 100% certain just about every MMORPG is based on this. Even some of the pvp laden MMOs are based heavily on time spent in the game for success.
  4. That's like saying that out of 100 people, 47 prefer vanilla, 45 prefer chocolate, and 8 prefer strawberry ice cream. Vanilla may be the most popular, but that doesn't mean Chocolate isn't nearly as plentiful as well.
  5. Frankly, I care less about the potential augment slots than I do about how god damned FUGLY the agent armor is.
  6. Weapons are the largest single contributing factor to one's Power, both damage and ability wise. And that's why, even though the mods themselves are nothing amazing, the chance at getting an augmented ~socketable~ weapon is such a pain in the righteous !@#%.
  7. Frag spam is also pretty damn effective for holding points. At least, until they turn around and shoot you.
  8. I noted an interesting bit on the Entrench Tool tip: "..and increased damage reduction." Frankly, I'd kind of prefer it also providing this damage reduction. We do somewhat lack sustained mitigation cooldowns, so it'd be nice to have some toe-to-toe ability when running isn't feasible and our shorter duration CDs are used.
  9. Still have the option to make different decisions. It won't radically alter the world but you do have the capability to alter the tone of your personal story as well as get different "closure" emails.
  10. Here's something. You can craft augments in 1.2 CAN YOU CRIT AN AUGMENT TO HAVE AN AUGMENT SLOT? OH NOES! ;p
  11. I'd argue if there were a solo instance, the reward should be a Bag that gave a select amount of commendations and a chance at one of the following tokens Belt Earpiece Relic Alternatively, you could make the solo instance without a lock out, having it reward the single commendation, but with daily / weekly quests surrounding it that provide greater rewards.
  12. SWG classic was not a loot based economy. SWToR is, and so that kind of crafting system would not work in this game.
  13. Wait, wait, wait. So you guys have to actually think about using consumables now? Heaven forbid.
  14. For every medpack you don't sell, you're letting another biochem make more money than you. I'm an Armstech. I haven't been able to sell anything since these "Modifiable" guns came along. Honestly, I don't see the appeal of custom tailoring your own weapon! Don't you want this Auto Cannon that has + defense and shield rating?
  15. I am by no means a great pvp sniper. However, I'd argue the key aspects are simple enough to understand. A) Target selection B) Positioning C) Escape Target selection is simple enough. Prioritizing who has to die first. Snipers tend to revolve around burst rotations in pvp; Ambush instant snipes, Cull rotations, etc. You can chunk a tank, or even a melee dps, but odds are, you're going to decimate the healer keeping them up. Knowing who to shoot and when is as important as how hard you're shooting. Snipers. Root themselves. To be effective. Because of this base concept of the class, rooting yourself in the wrong spot will get you killed. Lethality, and the MM/Engineering hybrid spec alleviate this by allowing more of your punch to be done on the fly, but a Sniper is a class with short CD, short duration escapes and defenses; Being in the wrong place at the wrong time punishes them more than other classes who have the longer CD but longer duration fail safes. I cannot imagine a single pvp spec that doesn't take improved Flashbang / grenades for pvp. 45 second cd aoe 'sleep' for 8 seconds is stupidly powerful for personal / group defense, and 3 second frag grenades means no one is ever getting that cap point or Voidstar door without killing you first; Usually enough time for the door to get reinforced. Crippling shot aids in escape from melee, or rooting a key target long enough to set up a quick combo or for your team to arrive. Shield Probe is a !@#%ing godsend for 1v1. Entrench almost completely prevents someone from stopping your damage, a melee stun to get away from those pesky knights, etc, etc. I would argue mastery of the sniper in pvp isn't based around how hard you hit; It's a factor, and 4-5k crits are sexy as all get out, but the difference between a good sniper and a beast sniper is, in my opinion, the mastery of the utility and escape abilities they possess, and knowing when and where to place your shots.
  16. Not sure how a nearly 2k shield is considered meh. Damn thing saves lives.
  17. A) Adds are standard. Abilities that have added standard effects work wonders; Force Storm, Frag Grenades, Overload, etc. B) CC Immunity works on the 20% stun, such as Entrench for Snipers. C) The waves are CC-able, but its recommended that you save your aoe CC for the last wave to just burn the boss. D) Save your defensive CDs for when the boss targets you.
  18. Smugglers, Arms dealers, profiteers. Basically anything that exists that allows trade between enemies, legal or otherwise, exists in Star Wars. We call Space Illegal Trading, and Space Treason.
  19. 15% increased maximum health is effectivevely an average of 2250 heal, assuming it works the same as the "Last Stand" mechanics on tanks.
  20. Spend the 150k credits to buy the gifts to max out affection. Problem fixed.
  21. Because your status in a game should come from your ability to play. Not from the amount of free time you can spare. And the quickest way to differentiate this is to make gear easy and attainable, but load a character down with 50 thousand abilities that each have their own niche. Seriously. WTB Coverbar 2 for sniper.
  22. 25% chance of a token. x 10 bosses. 25% chance of offset. x 10 bosses. Average of 5 loot drops per week per difficulty, on 8man mode. This is far more generous than "That other game."
  23. You know what, you're right. They should only award Tionese level gear. That way you can do dailies for repair money and get stuff far inferior for much less effort.
  24. Have to burst Emp HK soon as he unstealths, or he will backstab for around 9k damage. There is a bug, however, where he will backstab 3 times for a total of 27k damage. Good luck with that. Each class has a way of dealing with it, but you need to break the stun for it to happen. That being said; The amount of Code that goes into a MMO cannot feasibly be imagined by anyone who hasn't done coding themselves. I've barely broken into it, and ~I cannot feasibly imagine how much code~ goes into a single aspect of the game, much less an entire instance. Patches and fixes come slow because all it takes is one typo in a sequence of one ~billion~ letters to throw the whole thing out of whack. Also, hard mode Flash points are easy. Get better <3
  25. I just want to point out, that there's been this standard of "raiding is only profitable if you never wipe" for quite a while. Even Warcraft doesn't award enough gold from a boss to cover the first time learning process.
