  1. It's unclear what you mean by 'admin password'. But, if the system is asking for an 'administrator' password, that's because your Windows account is not set up 'As Administrator' If it's your computer and your access is not controlled by someone else, simply make yourself an admin. (Somewhere in the settings.)
  2. Yes, but see how much more excited you are to have beaten the enemy by your own determination to succeed? It is nice to just run around mindlessly blasting things with your Blaster or slicing things with your Lightsaber, but isn't it good to occasionally do a bit more and succeed? Gratz. πŸ§€ πŸ‘
  3. You didn't give much info to go on. Is your armor augmented (at least 276)? Is the companion at least level 10? Are your stats 'normal' - 110% Accuracy, etc.? Are you using your Heroic Moment and defensives skills at the proper time?
  4. I just did Chapter VII (I think - whatever one was for GS). It was a hoot. I had a hell of a time killing some of the harder enemies. I eventually had to give the companion (Senya) enough gifts to get her to level 10. Then I had to be relatively careful about using defensive skills and Heroic Moment. But in the end it was much fun to have to actually attempt to play well, rather than just steam-roller through. πŸ™‚ Disclaimer: Level 80, 331 iRating.
  5. If I recall, one of the main things is to position Valyin so that she gets hit by the green circles. But that could be a different fight. πŸ€”
  6. Because no true "Space Barbie" ever wears an entire CM 'outfit'. 😁 It's always mix&match and so the 'Cartel Names' of the individual pieces don't really apply. There are enough characters so that you can give each outfit a distinct name.
  7. As Thander said, you'd get annoyed pretty quickly if you had to take your ship to 'every' place you traveled. It may seem like a 'loss' now, but give it a while. πŸ™‚
  8. I did not question the accuracy of the Combat Logs - I question people's ability to properly interpret the data.
  9. For SWTOR it shouldn't really matter. SWTOR is CPU limited and neither graphics solution should have problems keeping up, especially if you keep the graphics at medium-to-high levels. However, the dedicated chip (MX450) is much more 'future proof' for running other newer games.
  10. It's sad how life seems to have become just one big consumer 'sale' after another. 😏
  11. If - and it's a big IF - it's done 'right' Esseles can be fairly quick - at least as compared to some others. Quick tips: - SPACEBAR through the cutscenes. You can spacebar quite rapidly too. - as mentioned above, mount up (vehicle) and drive to the next elevator, agroing all the mobs along the way. Then AOE at the elevator. - select the option to evacuate the engineers into space to get the bridge open. A small DS tick, but it then skips the whole 'disable the generators' bit. - there are also a few places where you can simply run around mobs without agroing them, such as just before you drop down the hole near the end.
  12. It's not 'your use' of tools, it's the possible malfunctioning of the tools. Back in the early days of multi-core CPUs there was much discussion about what exactly the 'percentage' of CPU usage (in Task Manager) indicated. But, I keep forgetting to check what % Task Manager shows these days. πŸ™‚
  13. Well, technically, in this case, they could "solve the problem"** by redesigning the deco to put the "stage" at ground level so there would be no need for Z-axis. πŸ€” ** while possibly creating new problems and complaints, but oh well.
  14. You need to keep in mind that SWTOR is not a PvP game - it's an RPG basically. As such, PvP is only one of the many aspects to the game and the amount of time and effort put into development of it is greatly related to the amount of 'consumer engagement' it receives. We don't get the usage figures from BW, so we can only speculate. But, if you get 5x the number of players doing Flashpoints or OPs than PvP, it wouldn't be surprising that FPs and OPs get 5x the resources. πŸ™‚ The general lack of PvP activity in the various PvP instances and locations is indicative of the general lack of interest in it. πŸ€”
  15. So, your ISP gives you a 'cable' connection and suddenly they can't be the problem? The rest of their system must be perfect? I have a bridge I can sell you. Why is it that I rarely get disconnected? (I think it's the quality of Canadian internet, but that's just teasing. πŸ˜‰ ) Many of the OP's problems can be chalked up to lag - the difference between when things happen on the client or server, and when the results get processed. This is greatly affected by the length and quality of the path your signal takes to get to the server. This sort of problem can be especially annoying in FPS games where you swear you were behind a wall but you still got shot, etc. Note: The quality and length of the signal path varies depending upon your location relative to the various servers, which is why some games and online services work smoother than others. So don't bother to respond with "but all my other games..." The bottom line is that there are limitations to the old code that SWTOR is based upon, but there is more to it than just you and the servers.
  16. You are one of the very few people who says that SWTOR uses more than 2 threads. Are you sure that the monitoring software used by that old 8-core CPU is accurate? πŸ€”
  17. Oh bunk! If it wasn't for GS3 (and the Feast) I'd have no reason to play. πŸ™„
  18. When it comes to World Bosses, 16-man OPs, and/or other times when there are a lot of players on screen, SWTOR is very CPU limited. SWTOR likes fast single-thread performance. SWTOR only uses 2 'threads' at most, so you only 'need' a dual core CPU, but, of course, having more cores helps for running background OS tasks, browsers, Starparse, etc, while playing. This is all somewhat moot these days as any modern CPU will have more than enough 'cores' and high enough clock speed. Basically, you want 4 or more cores at 4+ GHz. The main consideration would be for laptops which still often have somewhat slower clock speeds for energy saving. If you are running an older system that struggles with FPS in WBs or OPs, there's only so much you can do. Make sure the system is running at 'max performance' in energy settings. If it's a laptop, make sure it's running on 'mains' power and has lots of cooling air flow.
  19. They should (or should not) only work when any other 'mount' would (or would not) work. If they seem to work when you use Rocket Boost, that would just be a graphics glitch.
  20. And don't forget about anti-virus. You new computer may be using an AV prog that's blocking SWTOR.
  21. Credit seller spam is like Christmas music in stores - just something you need to get used to (and ignore) at this time of year. πŸ™‚
