"Your connection to the server has been lost"
JediQuaker replied to TonyCap's topic in General Discussion
I'm reasonably sure that, if you read up on 'internet connectivity' and how it works you'd understand that you could just simply have an unstable connection to the BW servers. -
Note also that most modern CPUs have some form of "hyper-boost" technology that automatically boosts processor speed depending upon load. SWTOR only uses 2 or 3 cores/threads and tends to run at the boosted speed most of the time. "Overclocking" would just lock these processors into a 'boosted' state, but produce very little extra performance. Turning off "vsync" would be better.

100% CPU CORE USAGE WHEN ANY CARGO HOLDS ARE OPEN

Suggesting that an AMD 5800X is 'underpowered' definitely indicates that you're not a 'pc expert'. π -
100% CPU CORE USAGE WHEN ANY CARGO HOLDS ARE OPEN
JediQuaker replied to TrixxieTriss's topic in General Discussion
i5-6600 running in Fullscreen(windowed) mode. My overall CPU usage doesn't change when I open Legacy/cargo storage. (Task Manager) For some reason, my hardware monitor is not working, so I can't observe individual cores at the moment. -

I keep meaning to check on this, but I haven't been in-game in about a week. π€ -
Why isn't there a Krayt Dragon boss?
JediQuaker replied to AJediKnight's topic in General Discussion
To me, a Krayt Dragon sounds more like something from WoW, GW2, or some other sword & sorcery game, not Star Wars. I'd rather fight "death stars" than dragons. π -
One method is to install Windows via Bootcamp and then install SWTOR in Windows. This of course requires you to boot up into Windows when you want to play SWTOR.

The fact that your 15 year old computer has problems has little to do with the specs needed today. We here have no idea what you can buy in Poland for Β£900. (And I'm not going to bother to try to find out. π ) Basically you want to aim for an AMD 5600X based system (or Intel equivalent) with at least 8 Gigs of RAM and an nVidia GTX-1650 based Graphics card. SSD/HDD needs only to be large enough to hold the OS (Windows) plus SWTOR - which is only about 120 Gigs. A typical system would be AMD 5600X, 16Gigs of DDR4 RAM, GTX-1650 GPU, 1TByte hard drive/500Gig SSD. Such a system will easily handle SWTOR.

You may have misunderstood my intentions. My point about appearing as a credit seller was a legitimate concern. However, given the above response from Savant, I guess it doesn't appear to be a problem.

The fact of the matter is that nobody IS obliged to have so many abilities on their skill bar. As you yourself say, some of these abilities largely accomplish the same thing, and so you can, at your own discretion, not equip them on your 'main' skillbar(s) and either leave them out or put them on a 'sidebar'.

Abilities get cancelled right after using them.

I'd suggest trying a different keyboard. Your keyboard could have a stuck or intermittent key. Or possibly the mouse as well. -
The hardware requirements for SWTOR haven't changed much, and any modern computer should have no particular problem running the game. It is best to have an actual discrete graphics card rather than built in CPU graphics, but it can be relatively low end such as a GTX-1650. It's also best (for SWTOR) to prioritize CPU speed over core count. If it's a laptop, try to avoid 'thin and light' units and/or CPUs with relatively low (< 2.5GHz) processor speed.

Veteran-Flashpoints "Black Talon/ Esseless"
JediQuaker replied to Sylvannai's topic in General Discussion
It would also help if the ability to select/deselect FPs was a bit more obvious than just a tiny "28/28" box. I've encountered many players who didn't even know they could select/deselect individual FPs. π€ -

Let me clarify. I realize that going through GF will not ensure the lead, so you would basically need to form a group outside of GF. The main purpose of this group would be to view the cutscenes and it doesn't need to be a 'full' group - that is, it can be player(s) + companion(s). If it's not 'full', you can enter the FP 'manually'. If it is 'full' (4 players), you can still go through GF to get any bonuses etc. This of course is only applicable if they changed FPs to allow the lead to skip. As it is now though, you can form a group as above, that agrees in advance to skip cutscenes. -

That seems kind of silly when you can just de-select BT/Esseles from the GF list. I realize you won't get the bonus and it wouldn't count toward the weekly, but it's still better than not doing the FPs at all (if you truly do enjoy doing them). -

Often times the 'low level' character is a new alt of an experienced player and is actually better than some ill-equipped 'high-level' doing their first FP (and not using their spacebar). The problem with Esseles is not low-level players - it's those dam cutscenes that people don't spacebar. I think a good solution might be to enable the group leader to skip cutscenes. -
As far as I know, no there isn't. You could even have multiple paid subscriptions. However, I'd be cautious about that because you might come across as a 'credit seller', or appear to be trying to game the system. (Maybe you should ask your 'guildmate', Discord buddy.) [/sarcasm] π In any case, if you're going to start a new account/character and transfer stuff from your current account, wouldn't it be simpler to just start a new character on your current account?
