  1. Pffft, Kira has been living with a lightsaber in her head for a month now, I am sure she wont mind the clown outfit too!
  2. Yes and no... you can't really make any big ticket sales anymore with like Synth and Armormech, but you can still sell low price in mass volume to make a decent turn around. It isn't about 1 sale for 1,000,000 credits anymore so much as 100 sales for 10,000 credits. Some people just haven't made / don't have the patience to make that adjustment.
  3. Nah I was with you on this one. When I hear twinking I think back to EQ and giving elune gear, that one regen sash, and a big flaming sword to my level 1 alt to curb stomp people with. Then I think about warcraft lvl 10-20 pvp brackets where you could pimp the crap out of a level 19 with enchants. Level 49 was like the furthest thing from my mind. Although it makes sense for this game.
  4. Oh so when we say twinking we aren't talking about level 10-20, you are talking about characters around level 49 geared out to stomp on adjusted characters and not hit 50.
  5. Serious question, how would you even twink in this game with the equipment level limits and auto 49 adjustment/buff in warzones?
  6. Disclaimer: (I know that is your personal math) You also forget all the warzones and operation/flashpoint passes. Any F2P model that charges 4x the regular subscription rate for equality is maliciously designed. I can't really think of anything you can't buy... oh the credit cap. There is no way to remove the credit cap except by subscription, so I guess that doesn't factor in.
  7. We are still waiting for the gear shown in the original trailers of the game Don't hold your breath!
  8. It will be $10 for makeb probably $15 for cather $10 for character recustomizations $15 for dual spec unlocks etc etc etc By the time you piece part together a real expansion, people will be nickle and dimed out of $100+ dollars. The funny part is at each release they will be sitting on the forums going "GEEZ WHINERS ITS ONLY $10" ^ prediction for 6mo from now.
  9. Yeah they just announced that there would not be any class stories It is just an imp/repub planet series. It is hard to place value on something we don't really know much about. All the assumptions are going to be the death of people. If it makes you feel any better, everyone knows that a $5 hamburger every day ends up costing you $140 by the end of the month. Actually, not a lot of people realize that and just say "its only $5, geez!" Let fools and their money be parted~
  10. Don't bother man. When people are backed into a corner and proven wrong, they cling to technicalities in a desperate attempt to... I don't know, not be wrong on an internet forum or something. You will never convince him. Did Ohlen say "Makeb is free"? No he didn't. Did he confirm how huge it was when the moderator compared it to free content patches and therefor fully implicate that it was free? Of course he did, it is obvious to anyone who isn't being a ridiculously stubborn internet person.
  11. I wonder how many of those could actually be used. Remember, this is the period of expansion in lore. Maybe those planets haven't been discovered or rolled into the Empire / Republic (think Voss). I wonder what their status even is this long ago.
  12. Yeah, that's cool. It is reasonable. Just like it is reasonable that the company's customers would express their displeasure about the change of position after the previous statements (that's what this thread is). So what is your point?
  13. Yeah that is the hope I am still hanging on to. That the $10 price is just for the 5 day pre-release and when the content update actually hits, it will be either free or buyable with cartel coins.
  14. Just to keep it fresh: "It is basically the biggest non expansion pack piece of content that any online game has ever released at one time. It is a whole planet, I never heard of that being released, um, except in something like an expansion pack so it shows how much we really care about giving our fans what they have been asking for." The moderator then goes on to state how its unusual to give away something that big for free, and Ohlen repeats that it really is that big of a content update.
  15. lol.... Person 1: "They said Makeb would be a free content patch to show their appreciation for their customers" Person 2: "THEY DID NOT PROVE IT" Person 1: "Okay, here is the link." You: "Hai guyz whatz goin on in thiz thread?" Person 1: "They said Makeb would be a free content patch to show their appreciation for their customers" You: "THEY DID NOT PROVE IT" Person 1: "I did earlier..." You: "PFFF YOU EXPECT ME TO READ A THREAD BEFORE I POST?!?!?!!?!?" You are quite the character.
  16. Don't bother dude, they are ignoring it for a reason. People don't like to admit they were wrong on the interwebs. You are a fool for thinking SWTOR is anything but a perfect and wonderful game without flaws. Obviously you hate the game and everything it represents, including them. How dare you constructively criticize it. How dare you, sir.
  17. Nah you don't. But it is easy to see why people get so frustrated.
  18. I think the problem is in the marketing. If they just said, "We plan on releasing small content patches every 6 months and charging people $10 for them" people would be fine with it. But instead they talk about how HUGE of an EXPANSION it is and how its the first game EXPANSION. We know what an expansion is. This isn't it. The price is perfectly fair for what they are delivering, but they aren't delivering what they are marketing. It was the same with the F2P option. If they just said "We are expanding our free trial to level 50 so people can enjoy the story aspect of the game" people would have been fine with it. Instead they hyped their awesome FREE TO PLAY model and how the game would be FREE TO PLAY. We know what F2P is. This isn't it. They released a trial version that costs $56 a month to be on par with a normal subscriber. As a matter of physical reality, there is no real crime being delivered here. Small content patch, $10. Seems fair. I think people are getting frustrated and fed up with their terrible marketing. You can't just throw around incorrect terms and descriptions then get all super offended when people call you out on it.
  19. To be fair, those are all single player games and there is no expectation of continued service. What defines an "expansion" in an MMO is pretty clearly marked out already by the game's competitors. It is understandable that the current info release does not meet that standard.
  20. It is an exploit with companion armor mods, not sure if they actually fixed it or not.
  21. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger. I figure by the next patch Kira will be nearly godlike what with having that lightsaber stuck in her head for so long.
  22. Hah! Zing! The little light's aren't twinkling, Clark.
  23. God forbid someone offer constructive criticism to make something they love better. It is almost like they are being a rational consumer or something. BUNCH OF WHINERS AND COMPLAINERS IF YOU ASK ME! I always laugh when I see people vehemently defend something that is obviously flawed just because they have some weird personal attachments to it. Maybe they weren't hugged enough as children and never developed the ability to objectively recognize flaws. Alternately, I suppose everyone who isn't with them is against them because SWTOR is obviously the greatest most perfect game ever.
