  1. As many have said it is a given rule that when everyone is working on an instance for loot companions or secondary and primary is your toon. Should go in this priority order for Need: 1. Your main toon needs it as an upgrade to current gear 2. Your team member's main toon needs it as an upgrade to current grear 3. Your companion needs it as an upgrade to current gear Then if you are not sure type: Anyone mind if I need this for my comp? Following these simple rules will prevent you getting the ninja rep. I know it is tempting to need gear to improve your soloing ability, but most of us like to run in a grp and in that case your companion is useless. And remember, it's not just you working to complete it, but the entire grp / team. I mean, if you were in a group trying to survive lost in the mountains and you came by some food, would you split the food so all party members could survive longer until you found more food, or save it until all were dead so you could last longer and not have to hunt for food as soon?
  2. In Internet slang, a troll (****.: /ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is someone who posts inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[3] The noun troll may also refer to the provocative message itself, as in: "That was an excellent troll you posted." So i guess I am guilty as charged... *places gun to temple*
  3. The CM should never have gear that is better then what you need to grind for, or what is the point. I like to play ops and flashpoints so I can enjoy the pve team work and find good loot. CM should be fluff items, cool looking speeder, gear etc, but the best stuff should be only drops, or accessed through running instanced or farming pvp.
  4. I thought with all the trolls I would post an anti-troll message.
  5. There is double ex on the weekend! I think I will be playing tonight.
  6. ooh don't get it twisted (bad pun , my sub is up next month.. The ship is indeed sinking and the price to stay on is too high for the quality of game you get. EA screwed the pooch on this one.
  7. Why do you watch the forums if you unsubed? If I got off the titanic, last thing I would want is to stick around.
  8. How could you quit the best game ever!!!
  9. I think they made a minor profit on the hype and now they are cutting because they don't want to lose that profit. Anyone have a $number to throw out here as far as total cost to develop vs. profit after launch?
  10. But if there are not enough subs then where will they get the money to continue to pay the people that build the content? 7 months in should have somewhat stable subs not dropping at the rate it has and is.
  11. the game will still be bad and lose subs, it is all doomed! Ok there the troll has been done and no more need follow.
  12. ^ Is all you need to know about comparing TOR with Vanilla wow. Belizar is absolutely right, it is called moving with the times. The programming complexities have been done and can be rewritten and implemented much easier then when it has not been invented and proven. There is NO excuse for how this game launched lacking key elements that have been proven to have lasting appeal in the MMO gaming world. TOR is a WOW clone, so they needed to raise the bar with the current release for this type of games and not what they were almost a decade ago. The 1965 mustang is an awesome inventions, but if a car manufacturer released a car that had all the same perks as the one built in 1965 no one would buy it. What no GPS or blue tooth!!! F that.
  13. Here are the fundamental problems I noticed with TOR: 1. Very little PVP interaction within the worlds at higher levels 2. Poor quality LFG tool that limits peoples ability to form friendships (community) running instances and content. 3. Lack of “personalization”. No cross mission features, very linier story content decreasing re-playability. For both factions 4. Game content is way too easy, and high end gear is a grind fest to get and easy to get. MMO players strive to get that “Bad !!@ gear”, but when it is handed to you then what is there to play for. 5. Leveling is way too fast causing a burnout affect. If I have 2 lvl 50s in 6 months of playing casually and completed most of the content, then something is wrong there. People want something to strive for and the level cap is a big one. This feature needs to go hand in hand with point # 3 and 4. 6. The lack of sandbox elements in the game has a major impact on re-playability, lack of arenas and world pvp, cross story encounters or event random story / mission encounters cripples this game. TOR is a great idea, and the engine as a whole is a good one, combat mechanics are great, and the all voice over missions and encounters are wonderful, but the 6 points above MUST be in place to hold subs or people get bored and quit. People are angry because the hopes for the game was so high, and when it is lacking the elements that make an MMO good you just fail.
  14. ooh I checked last week and everyone in chat was saying they have not added it yet. If there is a grp finder now that is awesome, and I will log in tonight to take a look! Thanks,
  15. I only need one thing to renew my sub at the end of this month,,, WHERE IS THE REAL LFG TOOL THEY PROMISED would be released last month. BW this is weak sauce with extra tomato of weekness!
  16. Dude just read the forums and you will see they did not, and that it is just getting worse
  17. As I agree to a point, it has been said and I feel the same, that this game is missing something that holds interest.. What is it? Something is not right, I just can't put my finger on it.. Is it the lack of drops from elites, lack of sandbox, finding groups, dead servers, the same looking NPC for world fill, bad models? Something is making this game feel blah, what is it?
  18. Bioware: I am writing this and posting it on your forum not to bash the company or TOR, but to give you some insight into my experience playing TOR and why I just canceled my subscription. Originally I purchased two titles, one for my wife and myself because we were wow players for about 6 years and were both eagerly looking forward to the title. My wife carried her account for three months before canceling and I held on in hopes of this title improving. I have lvl 50 juggernaut, 45 sniper, 35 Merc, and several lower levels too insignificant to mention, but as I played I noticed several things right off the bat that I told myself would be fixed soon, or blinded myself because I was a huge SW fan and wanted to believe it was going to make it. I noticed at release the title was missing some to-be-expected features for standard MMOs in the modern gaming industry like LFG tool, ranked pvp system, inability to modify UI, lack of challenge / fast leveling, no macro system, the list goes on and on. Then I started to notice little unpolished things like all the NPC toons and mobs having the exact same faces and model, characters that only use a rifle pulling out pistols in cut scenes instead of the weapon they use, and even not being able to add offline members to your friends list. I told myself "It will get better, LFG tool will be in and it will all get fixed soon…" Some of the bugs got fixed like the Protect the shipment quest that was broken for months and months, but let you pick up the broken quest just to run about for hours before you realized you could never complete it. I did some research and noticed this quest was bugged since beta but never disabled so they let their customers continue to get frustrated trying to finish it. Anyway, I began to realize that the problem was not with TOR, nor the engine, but the lack of management for this title. It became clear that this game was plagued by people at the top pushing the title out to market while production leads wasted valuable talent by not listening to the people creating the game (designers, Focus and Test Groups). I am sure TOR never had an alpha build before the beta, nor valued impute in the early stages from their designers in the design meetings. It was all about how cool the voice overs would be, and baah we don’t need a LFG tool it “kills the community”, we don’t have time to allow users to add offline friends for launch, or hurry with those levels we release Dec. 2012! Etc. TOR imo is a failure due to the upper management taking control and forcing what they thought the game should be and let that bleed into the core design of the game. It is sad to see all the posts from frustrated customers. It is sad to see an epic idea fail so hard due to probably a few executives refusing to let change occur because they thought their idea of an MMO was better than the 100 other gamers/designers/engineers/artists in the company telling them their idea was crap. And it is sad because this post will probably be removed by the forum drones as soon as they read it instead of letting their customers say what needs to be said… The truth hurts I am sure, but maybe next time you guys do a title this important to the company and fans the people calling the shots will let the Indians fight the war instead of the Chiefs. Remember EA/BW, gamers remember and don’t forgive easy. Release rushed flawed designs and we stop buying. Let your design TEAM design the game (even at the early stages), let your Engineers build it as a TEAM, and give the title the time it needs, and you will have loyal customers who buy, buy, and buy again. I might resub when you get this game completed if the chatter on the forums improves, but as the game is now, it should have been a 2013 – 14 release. -Goodbye
  19. I agree! I am tired of waiting as well, BW has lost what could have been a gold mine and an awesome game. Gamers will only wait so long for the things that are to be expected from a standard MMO (LFG, PVP rankings, sandbox pvp / pve, UI customization, the list goes on and on! Yeah the Bio drones can say "How can you expect the all these things that other MMOs have developed for years?" I say Fooie to that. The standard has been set, the major programming issues solved, BW / EA should have been focused on adding these very key elements from the start. BW/EA you failed on this game, and your customer base, so please don't fail this game any longer and get all those things you KNOW needs to be in this title. I will wait for 1.3 but if the key items are still missing I will know that 1. Some exec. producer is calling the shots, or 2. Some exec. producer is calling the shots. STOP IT, and let the Designers Design! Producers and above need to stay in the Office and let the design / art / engineer teams fix this thing before it is too late. I have seen this kind of failure first hand in gaming companies before (3DO) ooh shocker, EA was started by the same guy that failed 3DO hmm... Rant rant rant... FIX THIS GAME BECAUSE I LOVE STARWARS! Thanks
  20. Tor is like a fruit, sour to start, then becomes ripe before it spoils. Hang on it will be ripe someday.
  21. They should allow neutral and faction market tied to Nar shadda and Fleet.
  22. What I don't understand is why not just make it a global market? one market for all, tap into everything on the server in one shot. Why have multiple markets for crist sake:eek:.
