  1. Why not just make it a ranking system? At 100 MVP votes - adds 10% XP and Comms bonus At 150 MVP votes - adds 15% XP and Comms bonus Etc. Of course those are made up numbers but you get the idea.
  2. I think you are close but having resolve build via roots and slows is a very bad idea. This would REALLY cause a TON of trouble. With the number of roots and slows in the game, you would have white barred wrecking balls running around all the time. However, I do agree that once you are white barred that roots and slows should no longer affect you. The stun breaker CD should also be lowered and be reset on death in a WZ.
  3. They shouldn't add to resolve because then everyone would be white barred most of the time. However, I do believe that if you ARE white barred you should NOT be affected by them.

    I think when you enter a WZ your health should drop to 100 points and all attacks should be instant and adjusted to do 10,000 points of damage and upon using your attack, you should be instantly and permanently stunned until someone comes along and kills you and the process repeats. Skill should have NO PART in the process...
  5. Roll a toon on a US server and see? It only takes a few hours to get to 10 and pop into a WZ to see if it lags you.
  6. Seriously???? How about you take a look at the MANY threads on the broken resolve issue which was made far worse with the changes put in place in 1.4? It's broken, plain and simple and anyone dropping into a thread like this and saying "your bad" or "you need to L2P" or something similar is trolling or enjoying the broken system in some twisted, power mad way. If they don't fix stun wars soon there will be no PVP'ers left to queue. I've already lost 2 more friends to the fiasco that was 1.4... I have no idea why I'm still hanging around other than I'm on a 6 month sub through December.
  7. OR if there are balance changes needed for PVP but PVE play is fine, make the changes only apply when you are flagged for PVP..... I know, I know, strange concept, isn't it.
  8. I beg to differ, there are numerous threads and posts with many possible solutions for the broken resolve system. May I suggest you read a bit before posting... Edit: apologies to the OP, didn't mean to stray off topic but the trolls seem to bring it out in me. OP, you have brought up a good question. One I'd normally agree with but I know many great PVP'er's that have issues with how resolve is working in TOR.
  9. Why is it a useless thread? Virtually every serious PVP'er agrees that 1.4 broke an already broken resolve system. This is a thread with a possible solution that's being bounced off the community to see if may be viable. If you or the other trolls were serious about helping you'd either refrain from posting or post constructively.
  10. That could possibly work but I'd have to see how that played out in tests. I also think lowering the cooldown on CC breakers would still need to be done.
  11. So am I reading this correctly? You would like a PVP queue that is similar to the Group Finder where people had to choose their roles and then the team for a WZ would be made up accordingly? I'm not agreeing or disagreeing just seeking a bit of clarity on what you mean.
  12. Very well put post, sir. I agree "to a point" about Gear normalization. I think what Rift did worked well as you point out because of the ability to do cross server instances. For BW to make SWTOR viable for PVP, they will simply have to change the resolve system and somehow normalize gear within a WZ. The frustration felt by players with entry level gear just causes them to stop queuing and the frustration for WH geared people is twofold, less frequent warzones and little to no challenge. It's a double edged sword and one that BW will have to figure out how to address if the game is to survive.
  13. You might be on to something with the Dev's not caring about subs numbers. With the game going to FTP, there will be a significant infusion in cash from both advertisers and players via the "buy content and gear" from in game store playbook. Who knows.... I've been around since early beta and the game has never been in this bad a state for PVP.

  16. It was suggested in another thread to reduce the CC cooldown to 1 minute AND add a relic/set bonus to give you a second CC breaker. I think this would be very helpful in fixing the issues with resolve but I also think that your primary CC breaker should also reset on death in a WZ. So count me as /signed
  17. This actually might be worth looking at.... It's not any fun to be in recruit gear and come against a WH geared player, nor is it fun to be in WH and come against a recruit. A modest adjustment based on a total gear number in a given WZ could actually work. WH geared would still have an advantage with set bonuses and slightly higher experience numbers so I would not feel like it devalued my time and effort investment into getting that gear. Am I missing something? This seems too simple but I can't think of any issues that would make this a bad idea??? Thoughts?
  18. I hate the stun fest as much as anyone and a quick look at my post history will confirm that. However, I don't believe that adding resolve for roots and slows is a good idea. There are so many of them that all we end up with is far more white bars than we have now and that would remove a lot of the strategic use of CC's. I like the idea of lowering the cooldown on our CC breaker to 1 minute, I also think that our CC breaker cooldown should reset on death in a Warzone. I like the idea of adding a trinket/relic/set bonus that also gives an additional CC breaker on a slightly longer cooldown that does not reset on death. I believe the above would go a long way in helping stop the stun fests we have today. Of course this is just my humble opinion.
  19. I don't think it was fine prior to 1.4x but it was certainly better than it is now. The resolve system needs to be either fixed or replaced with a system that works properly. I think stuns/CC are a valuable part of any game but how they are handled in PVP is tricky business and here in TOR they are VERY broken.
  20. ^Exactly! The current mechanics of the stun/resolve system are FUBAR. When its possible for a couple of friends to band together in a warzone and camp a respawn site and actually prevent people from even having a chance to play their character in that warzone, it's FUBAR, plain and simple. As the title says "Stun Wars, the Frozen Republic" is very appropriate.
