  1. I meant when the game is polished. Its clearly not polished at the moment, far from it. When the game is becoming polished in say a year or two thats when it will come into its own and have a chance to dominate the market and draw in all the bored WoW players.
  2. I am one of the players that joined in Decemeber and then quit before i hit 50. The main reasoning behind my quitting was not lack of content or population issues rather I got totally frustrated with some of the quest design. When 1.2 dropped I resubscribed and now play everyday. The game is not boring in the least. In fact im finding it more interesting to play at endgame than mostly any other MMO ive played. I dont understand why people are quitting permanently, what do they expect from such a young game? Bioware has revolutionized storytelling in MMO's, its only a matter of time before everything else falls into place. I think SWTOR will gradually steal the mmo market once all the major gameplay updates are released (which will hopefully be before the first expansion). I mean really, what MMO player could resist a highly polished, living, breathing Star Wars Universe to explore and conquer?
  3. The question is why would they look the same? This is totally different era in the Star Wars Galaxy. The sith were open and aggressive with entire battalions of elite sith lords exploring the galaxy. They should at least show some cultural differences. I myself love the Battlemaster PVP inquisitor gear, it looks like an ancient sith robe. The other armor im less keen on. I think Bioware should try to keep it looking culturally ancient/ deeply evil/ or classic sith. No more stupid pointy clown hats.
  4. I'd give it a 7/10. The story for what it was isnt bad. It just didnt make me feel like an assassin, or sorcerer. The missions towards the end had you fighting in a planet wide war against another sith...it just seems something that warriors should be doing not inquisitors. We should have had more quests revolving around exploration and finding ancient artifacts and gaining recognition independently. Thats what i mainly hated about the Inquisitor story, the fact that we were never independent. We always relied on someone else to get us anywhere. The player character came off as some idiot that survives battles and gets everything else spoon fed to him. With all that said for what it is the story is still engaging and fun to experience.
  5. Im glad that there are threads like this, the more focus on GW2 there is the more pressure on bioware to make the PVP worth while. This is just a prediction but with MoP around the corner Bioware is going to release some major updates this year to keep the game relevant. SWTOR does have the clear potential to be the biggest MMO on the market, the stage is there but Bioware isnt delivering. 2012 is the make or brake year for SWTOR. If nothing is done about PVP this year the servers will dry up.
  6. Totally agree. Star wars is probably the best IP a developer could have for developing Open World PVP and it seems shocking that Bioware totally failed to deliver. On the other hand I cant even imagine the struggle to design an Open world pvp region that feels balanced, fun and open all at the same time. Bioware just needs to give all players a strong incentive to engage in Open World PVP - it needs to be something people aim to do every night. That would make it a success. We can only guess the ins and outs of it at this time. I just hope its high on Biowares priority list and isn't left to the first expansion.
  7. As youve probably now realized this forum, as any mmo forum, is half full of whiners. There is always guna be people that hate parts of the game. Ignore them and enjoy the game. Whiners arent new. On a side note, i think the PVP in this game is awesome - any changes that make it better are welcome. Cant wait for the new warzone.
  8. I looked through the Holonet and found the story about the new Mandalorian Champion to be very interesting - the fact that he won that title through what is essentially a PVP arena has so much potential. Do you have any plans of using Geonosis as a PVP hub world? You could create tiers of arena, and show a real visual progression as you move from one tier to the next e.g. the crowds get bigger and bigger. You could also implement a storyline of sorts, that only progresses as your character progresses within the Arena tiers. Such an implementation would make this game the best PVP mmo around.

    Is SWTOR dying?

My experience at the moment is that this game is far from dying. My Guild is always talking to eachother and logging on daily to level alts or do HM's in guild groups. Also, i have had countless hilarious conversations and arguments over General Chat on nearly all of the Planets - not including the arguments about JarJarBinks that i seem to keep having on the fleet. To have a great experience or to create a good MMO Community for SWTOR you actually have to DO some work - ask people questions, join in conversations, accept all HC invites. You guys want this sense of "Community" to be handed to you on a plate, even though you probably arent even making an effort to talk to anyone. Want a Community? Make one.
  10. What are your plans for PVP in the long term? We know you are going to release a new Warzone soon, but i dont mean Warzones. The StarWars IP is so unique and open to possibilities and I want to know do you have any really original PVP content in the works? Such as sieging an enemy base on Hoth, or boarding an enemy ship and taking a NPC hostage, or pod racing against other players, or having two teams battle over control of a ship that is burning and about to crash onto a planet. We need stuff like this, its Star Wars!
  11. In my opinion, it is stupid at the moment to invest your character totally into PVP. The content simply isnt there yet, but given time i have no doubt Bioware will bring the PVP up to the PVE standards. I still havent reached level 50, so im doing the story and a good 10 or so warzones a day - and im having great fun. Honestly, i find it as addictive as Wow. I cant talk for endgame players, but If you cant be patient leave, un-sub and never play this game again. Its not a big deal.
  12. This thread has deteriorated into just general complaints about the entire game. Go play something else - seriously this forum is for players not haters. Get over it. Wow, you dont like a game. Its not a big deal. Move on.
  13. I never experienced that. I'd say stop playing this game if you have that many issues with it. Or post a list here on what you think would improve the PvP for all players? That would be interesting and useful. Because i think a lot of players like me love mostly all of the game, so find it hard to relate.
  14. I swear thats all people ever did in WoW? Learnt the abilities/rotation and did it. Also, i found WoW questing a lot easier than SWTOR questing - i die far more frequently on this than i ever did on wow. The only thing i prefer about WoW is the sense of adventure with your first character; like when you can see the high level zones when youre on a flight path and wonder whats going to be there or who youre going to fight. Those moments were just pure genius on Blizzards part.
  15. Thanks for this thread guys, great advice. Lets keep this going.
