  1. You know, a big problem with this game is simple: When you first play and make your character your already thinking "Umm.. Not a lot of character customization" Infact, there isn't any. You are forced to pick from pre-sets. You can't make your character look how you want. So already it starts off bad. So anyway, you make your character and land on Tython/Dromund Kaas/Ord Mantell/Hutt and you go about questing. At first it's great. The whole voice-over thing, the dialogue choices, you feel like you want to quest, want to know the story the quest giver will give you. But as you progress, you start wondering "Didn't I just do this quest?" because every single quest is the same. They took a template like: I'm _____ From ______ and something bad has happened to _______. I need you to ______ x amount of _______ to make this right. That's the template FOR EVERY SINGLE QUEST. From 1-50. So ok, you ignore that and just continue mowing down the quests one after another, and as you progress further in the planets, you stop dead in your tracks and just say "My god, this is absolutely dead!". You're not speaking about the population. You aren't speaking about the server. You are speaking about the atmosphere of the game. The planets are dead, lifeless and bland. No NPC interaction outside quest givers. There is no point in exploring. You are on the rails from the very moment you get on the planet after going through about 6 loading screens. There aren't any old Sith Temples to find (Unless it's connected to a quest), no old Rakata buildings, nothing. It's an on the rails adventure the whole way through. No exploration in an MMORPG? Especially a Star Wars MMORPG? Ouch.. That's really all that needs to be said. So what happens? By the time you reach Alderaan, you're bored to death and the only thing that keeps you going is the class quest. So you put your head down, slog through the muck to get to the end of your class quest, and when you do, you realize "That story wasn't even good. Felt like it was written for a 10 year old. Very childish". Now you are 50. What do you have left to do? PvE dailies, Grinding Warzones, Doing Flashpoints/Ops. That's it, and that's ONLY if you happen to be on one of the 4-6 populated servers, or were able to join a Guild that didn't all quit. Your next choice? Re-Roll, and do all the boring, bland questing again over the same boring, bland planets again, to see another boring bland main-story again. No thanks. They can't fix this game. There are HUGE design flaws that are simply not fixable without rebuilding the game, which won't happen. This game has no shelf-life. It's a tide-me-over at best. That's truly a sad, sad ending for a game that had such amazing promise, hype and potential playerbase.
  2. Umm? I used the cheating example because it's something 80% of men have to face in their lifetime. More people can relate. And I wasn't harping. I was engaging in intelligent conversation with a mellow minded individual.
  3. I loved KOTOR 1 myself (Let us not talk about KOTOR 2) but if I played this game on the basis of playing that game, I would be disappointed ten-fold. To see what they did to Revan.. It makes me shed manly tears. And manly tears are not easily shed, my friend.
  4. lol @ low population on servers not being a deal breaker. That's like saying your wife cheats on you, rubs it in your face, but it's not a deal breaker, it's normal. I'm roaring with laughter right now. The very meaning of MMORPG's is massive amount of players playing together to conquer massive amounts of content. Which this game doesn't have.
  5. As far as the sub issue, perhaps he phoned customer service and had them refund his unused time which would be the next billing cycle, cancelling his sub sooner than 6 Months? A thing I just learned is possible.
  6. SWG probably never went F2P because of this game.
  7. LOL @ The Knight PvP set. Oh man. It just doesn't get better, does it?
  8. I actually did not know this. My sincerest thanks for the information.
  9. I have already provided Bioware with my feedback as to why I unsubscribed. And I care not for what others think of me, and I say that with all respect. My life is mine and mine alone, as their life is theirs. I wish not to judge them, nor assume anything about them, but I care not if they wish to judge me, or make assumptions about mine.
  10. Butthurt? Kind of crude. If you mean annoyed, yes, very much so. At myself, however, not EAWare, or SWTOR. I'm the one who paid the money for this game without waiting and doing proper research. I ignored my logical brain, and dived in head-first. If I had known before hand there was a sharp rock at the point I dived in, I probably would not have done so. Alas, such is the life of a foolish man with blind faith. ----- I don't bash this game, by the way. I simply type truths that are easily confirmable by simply playing this game. I find it no fault of my own that some people have a fanatical view point of the game, or the companies involved and take such things personally. A little maturity and understanding would go a long way to making this Forum and much more enjoy place to come and discuss the games positives, or, as I'm sure you are shocked to know, it's negatives.
  11. I wish I was getting paid to post factual information about the inner-workings of this game. Alas, I'm just some poor schmuck who went full-idiot and bought a 6 Month subscription to a game I had no playing knowledge of. (In total, it costed me north of $200 for this game ) Stupid me for not seeing the signs of what was to become of Bioware. I take it on the chin. Well, that isn't entriely right. I did see the beginning signs with Mass Effect 2, but I held out hope, as Mass Effect 2's only real big down-fall was the story. Gameplay was fine. It would probably hearten you to know I still login sometimes and play (On Fatman at the moment, trying to muster my way through a character story) let me tell you though, Faymar, it grows ever increasingly difficult to sway myself to log in. Had I been a WoW fanboy, or come from another game I liked, I would most likely be back there playing it. As such, I was unencumbered of such things when I joined this game (Specifically because this game had all my interest). Unfortunately, it didn't work out in my favour. I've seen friends quit, Guilds fall apart, and mass-exodus from servers. Now I slog my way through questing zone after questing zone, in the futile effort of getting to the end and finishing up all the class stories, so I can say I got my moneys worth. I have my doubts I make it past my current character.
  12. Probably Freedon Nadd, the EU server everyone is re-rolling to. Which is the equivalent to Fatman on the N/A side.
  13. You wouldn't know that around here.
  14. No, I admit I'm not a silly fanboy of any game-company. Thought the post was pretty self-explanatory.
  15. I'm not fanatical about any game company. My favourite devs. right now aren't even MMORPG devs (Rocksteady, CDProjectRed).
  16. Haha, and yet I've never played a Blizzard game, can't stand Call of Duty, and have zero interest in Guild Wars 2 now because of the cash-shop. :-).
  17. This guy has clearly been indoctrinated by EAWare. Approach with caution.
  18. There's lots of reason. Appeal. Being the 'bad-guys' is always more appealing than being the good-guys. Generally the bad-guy story is almost always better (As it is in this game). Imperial design is way better. Better quests. Better stories. Star Wars. Being a Darth Maul/Darth Vader type is probably hugely appealing. Imperial side was obviously loved more by Bioware. I mean, that's all you need.
  19. It is dying. If you people cannot see this now, then you will be forever blind to the obvious because your fanatical love of the game/company will constantly shield your eyes/heart from such harsh truths. This game is less than 4 months old, and yes, it is indeed already dying. It is having the same issues many other new MMORPGs have had, that have seen a dramatic decrease in their sub numbers over a relatively short-time. I could tear this game down, and post countless negatives about this game, re-hash things already well documented, but I wish not to provoke you. Clearly you and those of your ilk love and enjoy this game to which I say, enjoy it until it no longer functions as a product that you do enjoy, then move on, as many of us have and will do so in a very short while. Whether the game lives or dies has no bearing for me anymore. I've officially given up on it. Nothing they could do would make me re-up my Sub, absolutely nothing. I still wish them the best. While I doubt their hardwork and creativity, they've obviously created something here that a small fraction feel passionate about. I say enjoy yourselves and have fun until it ceases to be so.
  20. You point was Bioware had nothing to do with Warhammer. My point is Bioware has had little to do with SWTOR. It's been Mythic, and the Dragon Age team, and some stories written by Drew (Who has now left Bioware completely). This is a Mythic game, through and through. Warhammer was nothing like DAoC. Both done by Mythic.
  21. Mythic did. Then Mythic was bought by EA. Then Mythic was merged with Bioware to make up EA's RPG division. Any guesses who was the main SWTOR Dev Team? If you guessed Mythic left-overs, you win!
  22. You are leaving out Standard servers. This is something Bioware apologists do a lot. Standard can be anywhere from 500 to 1500 (iirc). I'd guestimate there's about 60% Standard servers with less than 800 players on Peak. Spilt that up into Factions, and Planets, and you got a server that is largely dead but says Standard. It's a much bigger problem than you Biodrones would ever admit. There's maybe 5 viable servers to play on for High pop. I Re-rolled on Fatman to finish out my class stories, as I've no interest in playing it when my Sub is up. Personally, I don't care anymore. Very tired of complaining about it, tired of debating with Biodrones over this and other issues. It's exhausting. It's the whole "Lead a horse to water, can't make them drink it" thing. No matter what we show you, Biodrones will simply see sunshine and rainbows. I wish you guys the best of luck, I honestly do. I feel like you're going to need it.
  23. This game made me move back to Aion. Think about that.
  24. He's saying Bioware rehashed content, I think. I can't really agree. Mass Effect the series was actually obliterated as a series because they didn't rehash the first game. The original story was so much better than the crap we got. I knew it was coming with ME2 though. That game was all flash, no substance. The fact they took Drew off ME was a travesty, Mac Walters is a terrible writer. His games suck (ME2, ME3) and his comics suck. Yeah, I'm still kinda pissed about what happened to the Mass Effect franchise. It was a great, great start to what could have been an amazing series, and they completely re-wrote it into a garbage franchise. Sigh.
