  1. Lol. Wasn't expecting this to be such a "triggering" issue for so many people. Wow. It's just a game guys, cool your jets. The hostility is a little rampant don't ya think. You made some good points and I can see where you are coming from, no need for personal attacks about how much I do or do not purchase. I actually do just fine credit wise due to PVP & was just making a suggestion to test the waters on how people feel about it. I clearly don't have as much experience with the economy of MMORPG's as many of you since this is the first MMORPG I started playing & the only other one I've played in the meantime has currency exchange and the ability to purchase in-game currency (which I like). Sorry to offend so many people with my ignorance, or as some of you put so eloquently my "awful game breaking ideas." I shan't do it again since so many of you were so gosh darn polite about it, Lol. Here are my two favorite responses to my suggestion: __________ "I'm sorry if you can't stop spending credits or can't make credits or whatever is possessing you to pitch these awful game breaking ideas, but the general consensus is no. Just quit spending and look up credit making guides or something. " ---- RWScissors __________ "It's such a terrible idea I don't think there's much need to worry BW would actually do it. Hmm... relevant. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_sink" ---- Darth_Moonshadow __________ Great advice on both counts and not condescending at all. I feel so blessed that you took the time to grace me with your well reasoned, witty, and genuinely heartfelt banter. This is the kind of unbiased, positive rhetoric that really has the power to change hearts and minds. If only we were talking about a real economy, I'm sure everything would be fixed now. But seriously, thank you for educating me on this serious, serious issue. I can't believe that in my negligence to research the economics of MMO's I made a suggestion that almost single handedly destroyed SWTOR as we know it in one fell swoop. I'm so glad that there are reasonable, fair minded people out there guarding against ignoramuses like me. I feel awful. I really do. Please accept my humble apology. I recant my suggestion in its entirety. What was I thinking? You guys really just saved SWTOR with your comments. Thank God. ________ Now to respond to these posts -- which were actually reasonable and therefore worthy of a legitimate response *this is not sarcasm*: "OP, buy a pack, sell what's in it. You'll make way more creds than a credit boom. Everyone against it - why? It already exists basically, what's the difference? People sell whole packs straight off. What's the value in them getting their creds that way rather than straight up? It's exactly that reason that there's no need for a credit boom to be made purchasable. Unless it's the OP saying "I don't want to wait a day and a half" Step 1: Buy a RNG Pack Step 2: Sell on GTN All this suggestion does is get rid of Step 2 :p" ________ Yeah, I don't want to wait a day and a half. I'm impatient like that. I work and go to school for a living. I play games to have fun and take a break from worrying about serious issues like the state of the economy. The more I can expedite that process, the better. ___________ But by all means, everyone feel free to rebut. I'd rather you all take your righteous fury out on me than some innocent player who is new to MMO's and carelessly makes a suggestion you don't agree with. P.S. If your goal was to shame me into submission, consider yourselves PWNED. This is for everyone who has ever been bullied on a thread. Sorry Dev's if this post skirts forum policy. Feel free to delete it. I wouldn't want to make anyone feel uncomfortable or belittled for expressing themselves on a game forum.
  2. I don't see why not. It really wouldn't give anyone more of an edge than they have now by buying cartel packs and selling items at a ridiculous markup. There should definitely be an appropriate exchange rate. I'm not saying they should come cheap. A lot of the items that people spend credits on are purchasable through the cartel market anyway, and high end gear costs commendations, not credits. There are already multiple ways to earn extra credits in game, such as: exchanging PVP commendations for credit boxes, specializing in slicing, doing dailies, etc. I don't seem the harm in adding credit booms to the cartel market. They are already in packs and actually don't drop that many credits. If you buy a pack for 375 CC and get a credit boom, it is usually just for 50,000-60,000 credits. When you consider that people are selling most pack items at prices ranging from 50,000 credits - 1,000,000 credits, a guaranteed credit boom doesn't effect game play that much. Say somebody with disposable income did buy enough credit booms to earn 10,000,000 credits. Odds are, if they didn't buy the credit booms they would still be able to turn a profit by using their money to purchase packs and sell items at a markup on the GTN. Charge 500CC for a 50,000 credit boom, or less. In the long run, people are already purchasing packs as a kind of credit boom.
  3. I'd like to see a combination cowboy hat w/eye patch either in the cartel market or as new medium armor headgear. The only thing better than a space cowboy or a space pirate is a combination of the two.
  4. Make "Credit Boom" purchasable through the Cartel Market.
  5. A single use consumable that allows you to change your appearance from any location at any time.
  6. I'd like to see two new consumables added to the game: * A consumable that increases the amount of credits dropped by enemy NPC's, class quests, missions, etc. * A consumable that increases the amount of prototype & artifact level items that are dropped by NPC's.
  7. I'd like the ability to exchange cartel coins for credits and vice versa. I've seen this on other MMORPG's and I've always liked it. Of course cartel coins are worth more than credits, so there would have to be a reasonable exchange rate. Say 1CC:1000C. 500 cartel coins = 500,000 credits. 5500 cartel coins = 5,500,000 credits. I don't know if this would qualify as play to win. I already know that people purchase cartel coin packs to sell for credits at a markup on the GTN, so it would necessarily change how the game is played. It would, however, enable players to earn cartel coins over time.
  8. I have also noticed that the Calo Nord armor is buggy. I have noticed the following in addition to what has already been stated: * The Calo Nord headgear clips in the back, showing the back of the toon's head (at least for male body type #2). * The pockets on the Calo Nord chest piece clip through the chest piece when moving and occasionally when stationary.
  9. I love the Calo Nord armor, but I agree. It would be 100% more awesome if we could dye it!!
  10. First off, I'm thrilled that Calo Nord's armor was added to the game. Love it! Unfortunately, when I equipped Calo Nord's headgear on my Miraluka I noticed that it clips in the back. I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this issue or if it is isolated. I'm using Miralukan head model #2 and the back of my toon's head clips through the headgear. I haven't tested this on any other headmodels and sadly, I don't have a picture of it just yet, but I'll try to upload one later.
  11. I know this sounds weird, but I really like the look of some of the older characters in the game and I think it would be cool if wrinkled faces were added as a new purchasable complexion option. Example: http://www.rarityguide.com/articles/content_images/1/swtor/mishta_swtor.jpg
  12. This sounds like a good idea to me. One hyper crate typically costs more than 5500 cartel coins (the maximum number of cartel coins that can be purchased in a single transaction). As a result, players hoping to purchase hyper crates have to make two separate transactions, which can potentially prevent players from making future purchases due to the cartel coin purchasing bug mentioned in the following thread: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=638277 This could be fixed by adding another cartel coin package equivalent to the average cost of a single hyper crate, creating a 10000 cartel coin pack, or allowing players to purchase multiple cartel coin packs in a single transaction.
  13. It is a little insensitive to post something like this when a large number of players can't access the new content or access the game at all. You really should have posted this in tandem with an update on the launch issue --common sense. You are basically begging to be criticized. That said, I was able to work around the launch issue by doing a system restore and have been able to access some, though not all, of the new content and I have made Cathar. One of the things that I like about the Cathar is that there is a range of faces from more humanoid to more feline. I would have liked to see more hairstyle options for female Cathar instead of recycling the Zabrak hairstyles, but I imagine they'll be selling more unique hairstyles through the Cartel Market from now on, not ideal, but I'm a sucker for character customization, so I'll probably shell out for it. I've been going back and forth between a Cathar smuggler and a Cathar consular. Despite the comments on this forum, the game world looks like "invasion of the Cathar" right now. I haven't changed any of my previous characters into Cathar or any other race, because I don't have access to the customization kiosk due to the bugged patch. I also can't preview gear without the game crashing. I hope a fix will be released soon, so everyone can enjoy the new content.
  14. The Miraluka are my playable race of choice and i would love to see more mask options! Here is basically a photo dump of Miraluka masks that might make nice additions to the Customization Kiosk: Simple black mask for sith and dark jedi players. Plated visor. Simple black wrap with jewel embellishment. Mask + Long hair options. Maskless Miraluka Classic white bandages.
  15. I'd just like to see a version of Revan's armor in SWTOR that actually looks like Revan's armor and not a re-color of a generic inquisitor armor set. Let's get rid of the shoulder pads, add a hooded cape, and make the chest piece bulkier. Reference #1 - Revan's Armor Reference #2 - Revan's Armor Reference #3 - Revan's Armor Reference #4 - Revan's Armor Revan's armor is much bulkier than what we get in the game. Instead of an inquisitor's robe, Revan wore body armor with a bulky chest plate that obscured the waist. It is similar in look to a samurai's armor. Instead we get holy-shoulders-revan!-armor. This is closer to Revan's classic look. Overall, I'm just totally disappointed with Revan's armor in SWTOR. The only thing I like about it is the mask. They did a good job on the mask.
  16. I totally agree. Twi'leks are one of my favorite Star Wars races, but I'm just not crazy about how they look in SWTOR. I'd love to see a face a little more like the concept art/original concept for Vette?
  17. I totally agree. I don't know if they plan to do this with 2.1, but hopefully in the not too distant future makeup and tattoos will get separate sliders for Twi'leks and other races. I'm hoping 2.1 opens the door for more character customization options such as new tattoos, eye colors, skin shades, etc. There's a lot of potential. From a marketing standpoint, they could release customization packs that contain unique hairstyles, patterns, colors, etc. I've seen other games do this and it is a pretty good seller.
  18. I have absolutely no idea how it would be implemented, but I think it would be a nice change of pace to have some sort of PVP race course or obstacle course. Creating a race course with interactive obstacles such as fire turrets, explosive fuel drums, E.M.Ps, mines, barricades, etc. would be interesting. Players could use their mounts to run the course with some minor tweaks. Your goal is to reach the end of the race while impeding the progress of other players by setting off traps and sabotaging enemy players (the weapon mechanics from SpaceCombat could be incorporated). There could also be speed bonuses, shield bonuses, etc. that you collect along the way to give yourself an edge. It would be fun to implement something like the podracing from KOTOR and KOTOR2, but with a PVP or multi-player slant. It doesn't have to be PVP, it could also be an optional mini-game.
  19. I'm not sure if this is the best forum to post this, but I have some questions about the upcoming character customization kiosk that players more active in the community might be able to answer. Does anyone know if there are going to be level restrictions on character customization/changing your character's race? From what I understand, the kiosks are located on the fleets and faction homeworlds. Does this mean we will have to wait until level 7-10 to travel to the fleet and change our toon's race/appearance? Do we have to use the kiosk to change our characters' appearances or can it be done remotely through the Cartel Market?
  20. I'm hoping that after 2.1 arrives more character customization options/unlocks will follow - I'm a sucker for character customization. Here are a few options I'd like to see unlockable for Twi'leks. More Lekku options: Lekku draped over the shoulder. Lekku wrapped around neck. Colored Lekku Full Body Tattoos
  21. I totally support the idea of more headgear options for Twi'lekks. I would add Mission Vao's headgear as well, though I don't know what a human version (or other racial version) would look like. Considering that a lot of people are asking that less humanoid looking playable races be added to the game (Wookie, Rodian, Togruta, etc.) perhaps the designers should start thinking about race specific gear or adding more race specific headgear options to character creation/customization. At the very least, wrapped lekku should be added to the game. Variation of the Twin Suns Outfit Aayla Secura's Headgear
  22. The viridian crystal was also one of my favorites. I'd love to see it in SWTOR.
  23. Yes, I'd like to see this set too. Darth Bandon's armor.
  24. I like that some of the armor/outfits from the original KOTOR games are being adapted for SWTOR. Here is my wishlist: Mira's Jacket Talia - Queen of Oderon's - Outfit Calo Nord's Outfit Visas Marr's Outfit Atris' Outfit Darth Bandon's Armor Sith Assassin's Mask Mandalore's Mask Bao'Dur's Arm/Outfit Atton's Jacket
