  1. Eh, it'd have been nice to have the alliance stuff voiced but probably within reason given what they probably paid to record all the main chapter installments for the next year. and yeah, its way, way better than SOR side quests where you right click, your character says a line and you immediately get the quest. At least this way you can still RP a little bit
  2. Weak? No. Weaker than his opposition? Absolutely and i'm fine with that. That's probably the idea, if you were stronger you could just march right up to them and kill them, there would be no need to 'gather a team' I mean Luke couldn't take on the Palpatine on his own. Neither could Yoda. Qui-Gon couldn't take Maul on his own either. Etc. As for the Jedi Knight's 'strength', you can probably assume that the Emperor wanted the Knight to kill that body to throw the Empire into chaos. He was, after all, the same guy who OHK's a powerful Darth Marr like it was nothing. probably my favorite way of looking at it. thumbs up.
  3. do you need to win or just play? if a game is stressing you out you need a new hobby. i suggest fishing.
  4. its really quite awful. story is incredibly boring, nothing you do matters, all characters are uninspired, all in all it felt like a waste of time. now if you'll excuse me i want to get back to playing it
  5. all the me games had tons of cutscenes, people complaining just to complain.
  6. Since no one is answering your question and just talking about themselves I'll answer. Compared to the Sith storylines, the jedi ones barely notice your alignment change. People will occasionally note your aggression but most will not bat an eyelash when you execute your opponents. Indeed, for the JK no one really notices until the very end, and there are some real inconsistencies, (a character says you are touched by darkness even though you may he light V for instance ) Consular is interesting in that you can slaughter many jedi similar to how Sith characters fight many other Sith, but again little notice of your dark tendencies compared to the Sith side. Also note that Consular makes much more sense light side, particularly you are completely locked out of the 'good' ending as a dark side character, but as you execute the final boss your character will still hold his head in his hands as though expressing regret. Basically the opposite alignments are not even close to being as well done. This is mostly because dark =killing and thus closing story branches and removing characters. While light Is lack of killing and thus characters pop up later. Thus in case of the Sith being light actually adds to the story. While being Jedi dark actually detracts from it. Played all class stories multiple times w alignments. If you're against the grain and want the game to respond (as opposed to just doing it in your head like most posters here) then dark jedi stories will likely dissappoint you. Consular in particular makes very little sense if you are dark side prior to act 2.
  7. Skadge only threatens and insults you because he really likes you. That's why he gets mad if you threaten him back, because you don't understand him and he gets upset.
  8. At this point it's irrelevant anyway, class stories are gone.
  9. The Oasis helped me have a SW who is initially a dark side jerk with the occasional merciful act finally reveal that he actually did have a good side, and embraced it, going [almost] full light from then on. Then meeting the jedi master who tells you Vette hates your guts and wishes for your death daily. Once you defeat him one of your dialogue options to vette is almost an apology for your behavior. I then took the slave collar off. By the time I finished the class story he was light 2. Killed a few jerks, refused to be challenged but was generally heroic otherwise. Very satisfying story overall. All thanks to the Oasis. Now that I think of it the SW has a lot of great dialogue. Vette mentions aliens as slaves, SW says "every race has a place, yours exist to serve your betters." Vette admonishes him and he says "sometimes the old training dies hard... i apologize." Old news but GJ bioware
  10. fun fact light side jaesa is super happy if you initially decide to spare baras. if you 'mercy kill' him after the council has their say, she doesn't mind.
  11. i'm pretty excited about it. just because it isn't wholly different per class doesn't mean it won't refer to your storyline. Clearly it will since you will have to find your companions after 5 years. each companion relates to your class-specific storyline. While having things COMPLETELY different for all classes would be nice, i can see how it isn't feasible. As long as they include little nods to the things I have done or who I am, I have no problem. Hutt Cartel, Shadow of Revan all had nods to who I was and my accomplishments. That's all I need.
  12. tyvm for this information, nothing would make me happier than to be able to enjoy the storylines without grinding like crazy in the higher levels like I used to have to.
  13. I always thought he was an ancient force ghost who could take over the bodies of others; not at all unheard of, he was just much more powerful than most and had a very large collection of hosts to choose from, basically anyone that had a ritual performed on them (such as his children) or someone he had previously possessed was at risk. I played through all the storylines and the one that made the most sense to finally vanquish the Emperor was the Inquisitor, due to his ability to control or destroy ghosts. The Knight and Warrior were absolutely capable of destroying his body, but I felt the Inquisitor was the only one that was capable of destroying his soul. This is particularly evident in the 'light side' inquisitor ending where he is able to purify ancient sith spirits and allow them to die a final death and return to the force. And no, I don't like the inqusitor story very much, it just made the most sense to me since swordplay simply isn't enough to kill vitiate for good.
  14. I have absolutely noticed that SWTOR has made certain 'rules' of how a non force wielder can tackle a force wielder. Bounty Hunter storyline IMO does the best job of it. you get tossed around by Jedi and Sith a lot... this is expected, they are space wizards. One Jedi even swats your rockets away... this is normal, he is a very powerful space wizard. For these fights, It isn't until the BH is able to break out the flamethrower that he finally gets the upper hand. imo they did a good job. Maybe the jedi and sith can redirect the flames, but it probably is very difficult, much easier to get out of the way, which puts them on the defensive and allows you to follow up on your attack (thus beginning the actual fight) The game absolutely allows tactics to defeat force wielders and does a good job demonstrating them in-cutscene.
  15. f2p model is very basic but works. however i would never have resubbed if not for the 12x xp bonus. I played this game to death. I LOVE THE STORYLINES. Love it. Yes, even Jedi Consular. But the side missions filled me with dread whenever I made a new character, to the point where I got absolutely fed up with it and left for a long time. I hope they make the 12x xp a permanent toggle for subscribers.. It doesn't break the game anymore than the upcoming 'start at level 60!' expansion does. So I hope they consider this, if it were the case i would never unsub because i could always get my KOTOR3 on whenever i felt the itch.
  16. It's nothing like Wrath of Khan. It has a couple obvious fanwank references and Khan is in it. That's it. idiotic. Ever been in an apple store? http://cdn.slashgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/apple-store-locator.jpg That should help remind you what they look like.
  17. How can you guys knock STO? It's not perfect but it does a vast number of things better than SWTOR. SWTOR is well on its way to becoming a generic MMO. Bioware has no plans to continue the class storylines. You level to 50 to go to Makeb to 55 and grind ops. Whoop de friggin do, every themepark MMO has that. There are no guild ships, you can't customize your ship AT ALL, not that it matters anyway. There are no 'star wars' per se, just space on rails. Literally SWTOR's claim to fame it has is great voice acting and lightsabers and a good personalized storyline 1-50. THis is awesome, but it's going the way of the do do. Me, I unsubbed... I see the writing on the wall, and i've played the class stories. I got better things to do than grind gear. And there's no point in logging back in since my lack of sub has removed dozens of QOL features from the game... STO i can play for free and get pretty much everything. There's a reason STO is going extremely strong for an f2p game while SWTOR is considered the joke of the MMO world outside these forums... and it has a lot to do with this game's direction (if you can call it that.)
  18. He 'disagreed' with it because Unifying force was a theory proposed by writers that was rejected by George Lucas because he wanted to keep the dichotomy from the movies. Among other things, he also desired the death of Anakin Solo due to the similarities he shared with Anakin Skywalker and insisted that the Yuuzhan Vong be star-trek aliens. When they were originally proposed to be the original Sith race twisted over eons, and were originally supposed to be dark-side force wielders, as opposed to some random aliens who the force rejected because they were teh evilz. In other words, the EU and George Lucas have always been at odds, he personally never would have allowed the light-sided Sith that we see in TOR, as that would have destroyed the good vs evil red vs blue dichotomy that he constructed.
  19. Quoted from linked interview So yeah, they are continuing them... it will just be a bit, and it was likely on the backburner for most of last year as they fell over themselves trying to put out more ops that only a few people actually do. Me, i'm playing freemium till they continue the class stories i enjoy. (grind for and buy unlocks on GTN works surprisingly well.)
  20. How the bloody hell do you see anyone from that horse you're on. According to you, the problem is players needing to adjust their taste. you sicken me.
  21. I'd be down. That way I can pick and choose which ones I want to play. Never happen (class stories are done) but nice idea.
  22. If you spent 15$ a month on unlocks you could play this game for free with almost everything. Think about that.
  23. Then there are the wannabe cults of personality who take one stance and refuse to ever see things another way, challenging posters to defend themselves before ever dare challenging them.
  24. Came in, posted in an extremely hostile environment when didn't have to, owned up to mistakes made. Regardless of my personal feelings, Respect and props to you, sir.
  25. This. When I won the Great Hunt, after repair bills and carbonite rental fees and paying my 'companions' for their help, I had about enough left over for a pabst. Couldn't even take Mako out to a fancy dinner. (-100 affection)
