  1. They should put the queue time up in light years.
  2. I'm in a queue. HUH? light pop. Not only that, i am moving DOWNinstead of up. No cuts.

  4. LOL JJ, you write like a Jawa speaks. cool.
  5. Aww, man! Now i will have to find something else to do with my hands
  6. Wouldn't it be nice if we had an add-on to peruse all of our characters traits crew skills, inventory, creds, etc? Just informational to save time and effort?
  7. BW has been posting status reports in the official thread covering this downtime. The last I saw offered no specifics, but i would suspect it isn't a simple issue. The official thread is in the Customer Service Forum. The thing that has ALWAYS bugged be in gaming online for decades, is that even when those who run the technology we all get to enjoy try to keep the players informed, regardless of what they have to say, the company that owns it is the worst at everything that is needed to run the game, the techs are incompetent, the programmers are lousy, the game suck and they attack the messenger. Yet these people still work to get things going for those who despise and villify them. I AM American and have literally circumnavigated the globe in the service of my country and have found AMERICANS to be the most downright, thoughtless, and self-absorbed culture on the planet. Those who have little show greater honor and humility than most Americans. This has gotten worse over the years. Most of us are ignorant to the fact that MOST of the worlds governments despise or tolerate the US and its people. Funny, the Canadians don't have our reputation problem...
  8. so, your hardware, originally, wasn't working and you expected them to wave their magic 3000 mile wand and bring it up to spec. It didn't happen, so you made the decision to go and buy a laptop capable of running the game. Sounds like a winning decision. You get a new laptop that can play SWTOR AND do more things better than the old one. Personally, how you use your leave is your choice. Sorry, BW doesn't take that into consideration and work harder for you to keep things running. When I take annual, I usually spend time with my family. Maybe a little late-night gaming occurs after all are asleep. This is my day off and I had plans to level my Armstech's crafting and make some modifications. I get you are upset. I used to get that way too playing WoW. Servers crashed much more than this ever does AND they did their lengthy maint during my day-off prime playing time. But howling at the moon will get you nowhere. This is high tech, regardless of whether you feel this is true, or not, and tech fails with and without warning. However, YOU are not the only one affected by this, regardless of your personal circumstances. We all have a personal circumstance.
  9. really? I have always hung up or gotten closure on all my issues. I've been here from launch. I know you have not because had you been you would have known they dramatically cut their support side over a year ago. to expect personal return calls (lol that is hilarious) and lightning fast in-game support is unrealistic. And the cool thing. They don't outsource their support to india or Taiwan.
  10. What do you know? I have no idea? Can you pour through millions of lines of code to recognize and find the part that took down the server? Are you in IT? An Electrician? and EE or CE? Systems analyst? Then maybe you can fix it faster than those who have those skills are trying to do.
  11. I have gotten over a weeks compensation since launch. New to the game, right? Also, the TOS and EULA expressly say you do not have any right to 24 hour access to the game or servers and servers may be taken down for any reasons and you are not entitled to compensation for server down time. READ the big long legal contracts you signed.
  12. You're kidding, right? 50 cents a day? do you play all 24 hours each day? no. then you are wasting their sever space by not maximizing your game time. And if you had been around for ANY amount of time, you would know there have been quite a few free days given to extended downtime and other issues. BW is not afraid to hand out 1 day extensions to all account holders affected by extended downtime.
  13. Maybe they are trying to drive away you malcontents. Plenty of other games out there to ***** about. Some are even free. Surprisingly, their servers go down, sometimes, too. So you can just cut and paste your complaints.
  14. When it comes up, it is up. Complaining about it into the ether isn't going to get the thing up and running any sooner. I don't sweat it. The only thing I would like is a bit of communication from the techs. You know, what is the status and what is the ETR. They may not even know yet what caused it. Who knows? These things happen. On the rare occasion I'll step away from my computer for a bit and come back to find if OFF. Nothing seems awry when i boot back up. Once again, who knows. These are extremely complex systems with billions, if not trillions or more, variables. Who knows if it weren't something crazy like 1 person puts up a dye on the GTN and exactly as it posts 5 people at the exact same time to the millisecond buy that item. They all go to the mailbox and retrieve said item, and holy cow!, 1 items sold, 5 items delivered, system goes "HUH?!?!" and takes a dump. All starts with the butterfly on the other side of the world. . .
  15. That kind of stuff happens. Harbinger is a bit surley. Some will troll and if you put them on ignore they will actually log on on to another toon and harass you with flurry`s of abusive whispers. Some will ninja your chests, nodes, and mission objects while you clear mobs. Some will want you kicked for not spacebarring through heroics, fp`s or ops Many here are impatient, immature, aggressive, abusive, and selfish. Oh, don't complain in general about ninjas. You WILL be set upon by numerous players telling you that you getting ninja`d is YOUR fault.
  16. I'm confused. I generally stay far, far away from the official forums. What do you mean when you talk about getting our companions back? I never lost mine and added HK to boot. I'm not trying to troll the OP, I just have no clue as to what he is referring to.
  17. I agree. It isn't like BW HASN'T emplaced tools for you to play in groups or form guilds. The mere fact they have the social system is proof of that. You aren't limited to only doing OPS, FP's, WZ's or Heroics as a group, simply grouping to do ANY mission will gain you social points. They have World general chat so you can talk to others. Because you choose not to utilize these features is not BW's failure. It is yours. YOU are choosing to make it a single player game. This is a widespread issue. You can be on a planet with 100 other players and NOTHING on general at all. You try to start a convo or ask a question...no response. Or the response to your question is simply "Codex" or "TorHead." Maybe it is just me and this is the way all MMO's are on US based servers. ALL my WoW time was on Aussie servers due to my work schedule it was a better fit. There's a LOT of chatter on them. They are active, even at off-peak hours. Perhaps it is a cultural thing. American's (as I am) have a tendency to be self-centered and guarded outside their circle of friends. Hell, most people don't know who their neighbors of YEARS are except for a passing head nod or "how ya doing?" Growing up as a kid and my family, we KNEW everybody on the block and across the street and behind us from one end to the other. Very few were reclusive. The internet fosters isolation. To deny that is to prove the point. For some, though, it brings out the worst that humanity has to offer. No consideration for what your actions and words may have on others online. But to the point, NO, SWTOR is not designed for single-play only nor is it ill-equipped to foster a healthy, active community. YOU make that choice, not BW.
  18. nice. 13 posts and every one of them negative. Just quit, already. It is for fun. a game...fun...wow. what a concept. why pay money to be miserable to the point you have to complain about a quality of life improvement that you aren't required to use to finish the game?
  19. Look. Every MMO requires uniqueness. You can't have 2 players with the same name. Legacy should be just as protected. It is what makes you connected to your characters. The fool that proclaimed that my $15 a month shouldn't get me this is wrong. I live in a country where being unique (or a poser or a 1 of tens-of thousands of "individual" goth chicks) is your right. Apparently he comes from a land where individuality is frowned upon or even punished. In my country you can even change your name to a crazy, meaningless symbol if you like, JUST to stay unique.
  20. Cool. Now every Jedi is going to be named Skywalker. Every BH will be named Fett (they were clones after all), every Scoundrel will be named Solo. every Sith Warrior will be named Vader. The absolute lack of imagination and originality is what caused there to be name changes when the transfers took place, to begin with. This was a ridiculous change with no purpose for doing so. What it does is invalidate those who worked to get those coveted names first. Now everyone will be named Chang (most common family name in the world). Who the hell was demanding this and why the hell would BW spend countless hours and dollars to accommodate this foolishness? "The Solo's are stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf-herder's" "Them's the Tatooine Solo's who's nerf-herders. Us Hoth Solo's are Wampa wranglers. No relation..."
  21. You pay $.50 per day to have access when the service is AVAILABLE.. The TOE and EULA spell this out in detail. You know, the ones you agreed on and signed. If you feel your being ripped off of the $.10 worth of time it is down in maintenance, then ask for a refund or cridit to your account. that or just quit. You didn't pay for 24/7/365 access. You paid for unlimited access when the servers are available to you. I bet you complain about the 2-3 minute queue logging on, too. that would entitle you to ask for a $.001 refund for your time.
  22. Back to this. You want money for time lost to a handful of players while the VAST majority is asleep. Also, EVE does maintenance EVERY DAY at 4 am, my time. I'm awake and I never complained about it. Finally the servers HAVE NEVER been down for a day with one exception of 2-3 servers. They were compensated with 2 days of play for the 1 they lost. When the servers were down to implement 1.2, EVERYBODY got a whole day despite the fact the servers were down only 9 hours. Jezz, WoW is down 8 hours weekly right in my prime time play. I went through with and dealt with it for 7 years. just cope with it. it is part of the MMO process. some days/weeks don't go as well as planned. Especially in a new game. Yes, it is still new, despite the massive loads of content and patches they have unloaded on us.
