Nope. Not really. Somewhere in an EA board room, there is a pre-determined return on investment on the expense spent on the trailer written on a wall, probably somewhere between 20-25%. So that means the Devs need to create something that will keep us entertained enough to bring in enough new subs and/or cartel markets sales to make that ROI.
Trust me, if the bean-counters saw a path where investing in new stuff (Ops, FPs, GSF...) would bring in that kind of income, we would have seen it in the last 2 years. Don't get me wrong, I want to see new group content and I'll expect there will be something, I just don't expect anything wide-spread throughout the game. The devs will give us just enough to keep interest up. Face it, the new reality is cartel purchases w/real money + a few more subs, and hope those subs stay to grind to buy on gtn when they don't want to pony up real cash is the new business model of the game. As said before, raiders are/were a small pop of the game and did not offer big enough income to support the game. Why you don't see a big investment in raids.
So to say, "If they'd just spend the money to make more Ops, everything would be better", nope sorry, don't see that point of view. I hope i'm wrong, but the economics just don't appear that way.
