  1. Yip the L20 and L40 sets have really good stats. It's not a bad way to go about levelling as long as you don't mind repeated Huttball games!
  2. Elite players? There's no real secret, tips maybe. - Always log off in a cantina or your ship to generate rest xp faster. - Only play while you have rest xp available (alternate toons) - Clear each planet when playing the story, you can usually gain 3/4 - whole level from doing the bonus series for a planet. - Skip H2's and H4's. The time it takes to find group, organise group, get group to start area, complete quest you could spend completing half a dozen solo quests. - Depending on your starter companion, run as a DPS if you comp is a tank or dps. Tank/dps if you're start comp is a healer. - Do your space missions.
  3. Not as much no. Either you stack your dominant class stat, or endurance and even that's going to be of minimal impact as all players are scaled to 49. PVP stats don't appear on gear until you hit 50.
  4. This basically. Every time stealth past mobs to an objective you're losing XP, and eventually end up in the situation you're at now where the content is too high level for you.
  5. It's better when you're higher level. In your 20's and 30's it's not cost effective to be leveling your skills to a point that you can create items to replace your gear/mods because you'll out-level them too quickly. It is cost effective later on when you can put the higher quality versions of your crafted items on the GTN because there are gaps in the leveling process where you can't purchase mods/items with commendations, or the craftable versions are higher quality or have additional stats.
  6. You shouldn't have to buy anything but skills. Assuming you're clearing each planet of quests you'll easily have enough money to purchase skills and your speeder. Armour repair's are pretty insignificant and a rare event unless you're dying that often. I would leave your skills alone until mid to late 30's when you're raking in the cash.
  7. If you're following the storyline quest it will send you to the Imperial Fleet. When you first enter the station there's a quest right in front of you telling you to see your class trainer on the station, where you choose your advanced class.
  8. Please spend your time away from the game on improving your grammar.
  9. If you've been to the Imperial Fleet and you've done the quick quest on there that directs you to your class trainer and you've chosen Assassin, you'll have a container (pack/bag/whatever) in your bags now. Just open it and viola.
  10. Always dismount from your speeder before starting quest conversations so that your companion always spawns in. 9 times out of 10 if you don't dismount you won't get any affection points for conversation decisions. Also gathering skills like Treasure Hunting and Splicing allow you to obtain companion gifts through missions which you can use,
  11. Then it's your strategy rather than your equipment. Unbelievably you can't just charge on in blasting away and come out 3 mins later with some money and XP...... amazing right?! They don't require you to lead a target, just put reticule on target and pull trigger. They even let you shoot through solid objects. Big ships hit harder than little ships. Prioritize whats on the screen to shoot at, I'm going to shoot the zonking big capital ship over the 3 fighters that buzzed past because one hit from that ship will do way more damage than those 3 fighters.
  12. Another thumbs up for Taris. (why is there not a thumbs up icon!?) The ambience, the artwork, the scale. It is one of those zones which on the face of it can look and feel boring or frustrating but when you actually stop to take a lot around it's quite amazing. Just a pity that the whole time on the planet seemed to be about the rakghouls.
  13. You need to read the instructions again, and understand it. Transfers don't happen right away, there is a window of 3 hours on the date and time listed. You get an email when it's been completed, not beforehand.
  14. Quite the opposite, you're actually encouraged to roll new characters on either side to experience a new story. The legacy feature of SWTOR means that all your characters contribute to your overall experience which unlock benefits such as having access to the class buff of one of your higher alts. I've got 2 x 50's which are running Op's and PVP, a 42, another in early 30's and a mid 20's. On each character there's always plently of people in the zones for grouping so rerolling is not a problem.
  15. Could possibly be that you're not in the 'right place' to be able to kick off the quest/custscene. For example, on the Sith Inq story I had to 'fly to imperial station' to continue the story, thought sweet and used the quick travel pass, but my story got stuck because I didn't 'fly by ship'. Flying back to the planet and then flying back to the Imp station un-stuck my storyline again. Could be that you're in a similar situation where you've shortcut something and got the story stuck.
  16. Perhaps a stupid question, but I am assuming you're right clicking on it?
  17. Found the Merc story better than the IA one. Merc is also fun to level when you start off with a healer as your first companion.
  18. Pick a heavy server and if you want insta-groups, like any MMO, roll a class with a spec that allows tanking/healing as well as DPS. Newbie guide is your friend on this.
  19. Oceanic players were supposed to be given a free transfer after 1.2 to move the character(s) onto the regional server. Still waiting for this to happen.
  20. It's a world event....... I wouldn't venture out of your basement anytime soon, real life hurts more and you might consider cancelling life!
  21. Really shouldn't be behind the current level unless you're skipping whole planets. Even with no or little rest xp. Sith side for example I've found that I was 2 levels ahead of content right up to level 44 at the start of Voss. Republic side was about the same. Do the bonus series and space dailys, two levels at 34ish ain't that much to knock off.
  22. Had a similar issue with Mako on my BH. Mako is essentially a light side companion, so you need to play your BH with 'morals and ethics'. As I went DS on my BH I used Treasure Hunting rewards to level up affection with Mako and advance her story and still play DS. Was a lot slower but it meant a LOT less compromises.
  23. You can't specifically direct your companion to use a skill on you like that (direct control etc). Best way to use him as a pure healer is to turn off his damage abilities so he's not wasting energy/points on unnecessary skills and to keep the fights away from him. If he's in range of AOE and takes damage he will take time off healing you to heal himself.
  24. Bug that's been around for a while now. Class quests you can't abandon. Non-class quests sometimes become stuck for no apparent reason and you can't reset, abandon, or complete it. Apparently a 'fix' is 'coming'.
  25. Re-roll. It's only a couple of hours at the most to power through to L10. Probably the most pain free and quickest way to obtain it.
