  1. Total agreement -- logged on last night for the first time in a few weeks and Mako (specced as DPS) was burning through mobs on Dromund Kaas. I didn't even have to heal her. I actually prefer this absurd OP'd Mako as I am only an occasional and VERY lazy player. So my play style is now: TAB - to target nearest enemy NPC CTRL + 1 - let Mako unleash Hell UP ARROW - move on to next objective
  2. Against! And all God-fearing, patriotic, clean-living Americans should also be against it! Hello, I'm Januaria, and I approve this message.
  3. I find this to be an issue with most MMO's: as you level your toon you wind up with a condition that I call Ability Bloat. Some power players will have SIX 12-button quick bars + the companion quick bar open at 100% sizing. That can take up as much as 1/3rd of your screen real estate. I HATE a cluttered UI and would love an option to limit ALL your offensive/defensive abilities/skills to TWO 12-button quick bars. But it's safe to say that I'd be in a tiny, tiny minority of MMO players, the majority of whom would love an infinite number of quick bars leaving a gaming screen about the size of a postage stamp.
  4. "So for those who think that this is another mistake that Bioware is taking with SWTOR and that people will leave this game in droves because of the focus on solo play, then you are wrong. In fact, this expansion will satisfy a majority of their player base! In fact, the only reason why I am here and back as a subscriber is because I am excited for this new solo-friendly approach to SWTOR and while waiting for KotFE, I am leveling up a few characters that I will import into KotFE later this year." I am so hoping that what you've posted is true! I am a confirmed soloer and more solo content would be heaven-sent. In fact, I wish all content was solo-able: Heroics, Flashpoints, etc. Unlike some, I didn't sub to the game along with FFC's (family, friends, co-workers) + busy, chaotic lifestyle = cannot commit to a group for any length of time and when the phone rings I log off that moment, wouldn't be right to do that to a group. So solo content? YES!!!
  5. "It's these kids today. You know what the problem is? No respect for authority. When I was a boy, do you know what I used to call my father? 'Sir.' That's right, 'Sir.'" Lee Jay Cobb as Juror #3 in "12 Angry Men." TL/DR: every successive generation is worse than the one preceding it. Eventually we will devolve back into single-celled organisms.
  6. The trend is that soon enough we'll be down to the square root of -1. That's a trippy #.
  7. 60 here. Played my first game in 1997: Titanic: Adventure Out of Time. First MMO was WOW back in 2008. After that I could never get back into single-player games, they just felt so lonely. Been playing SWTOR since launch (minus about 8 months sub lapse -- resubbed a month ago). Okay, so any of you young gear heads can help me program my VCR?
  8. This is EXACTLY my situation! I'm relieved to read that I'm not the only one facing this dilemma. It would be the height of dickishness to group up and then abandon the group in the middle of content because LIFE calls you away. This is why solo content is so vital for some members of the community.
  9. I totally support this! Also, too, "H2" heroics. I'm only on for an hour or so a few nights a week, don't want to spam general for PUGs and then wait at instance entrance for group to arrive ("can you wait a few minutes while I turn this mission in?" Really, you can't say "no" to that, right? So there's a few minutes of down time right there.). Remember, peeps, not everyone has a RL where they can play for HOURS on end and long into the night...
  10. I resubbed after a 6-month hiatus -- but it had nothing to do with the imminent expansion. I adore the game at the lower levels but get bored once my toons hit level 25-30 or so. Basically after Nar Shaddaa my eyes just glaze over.
  11. Raises hand... Not only have I never done Ops, I really don't even know what they are. I'm assuming they are group content with very difficult objectives but sweet payoffs and drops. I will further speculate that they are time-consuming. However, mandatory grouping and lengthy time commitment are deal-breakers for me.
  12. Wow, thanks so much for that link! I adore Vette! I am now officially in love with Catherine Taber...
  13. While I agree with you 1000%, this will not happen. Ever... Never... The sun will consume all its nuclear fuel before this game has Chat Bubbles.
  14. I am absolutely floored to read about your departure, Andryah! To be honest, over the years that you've been posting to these forums, I've always considered you to be a BW Tool -- a mewling, sycophantic, suck-up; and in my mind I labeled you the SW Church Lady. But to read this departure message of yours -- it appears that I was wrong -- so I owe you an apology: "Andryah, I, Januaria, apologize for thinking of you as a BW employee plant undermining all criticisms of the game." I too am on the way out -- 3+ years and I am bored of the game, tired of the loading screens, the poor FPS, the lack of chat bubbles (my biggest peeve), the inability to sit in friggin' chairs in the cantinas, and oh, did I mention the loading screens? All in all, I'd rate this a "Good" game, maybe 3.75 out of 5, or to use a letter grade, a solid "B," maybe even a B+, but never an A-. Hard to believe both Andryah and Lord Artemis departing in the same time period -- not a good indication from two of the more (formerly) devoted fans of this title -- SW-TOR: A Fatally Flawed Masterpiece.
  15. Farewell, Lord Artemis. I may not have always agreed with your opinions over the -- what, has it been years now? -- but I've always respected the fairness of your posts. I too am feeling burnt-out and bored with the game and might soon join you in unsubbing -- haven't logged on in weeks and I'd like to spend that $16.32/month more productively (and enjoyably -- gotta maximize those hypothetical Utils). So again, farewell. Perhaps we'll cross paths again in the future.
  16. 8.5 out of 10 seems like a very fair score to me. That's exactly what I'd rate the game after having been a sub for 3+ years now.
  17. I think that was the episode staring Paul Winfield -- about him and Picard being intentionally stranded on a planet, where the other culture spoke only through analogy.
  18. Damn, I wish I had bosses/owners as lenient and patient as you! But then again, I live in NYC, where everyone moves at the speed of light. I want to live in BW Land where time stands still and imperfections are smiled upon.
  19. I actually like the lag, both in the initial loading of the game, and also, too, when waiting to land on any planet. One time my lag was so bad (or is that good?) that I enrolled in a continuing education program and managed to get my MBA in Finance. After graduation - brand, new shiny diploma in hand, I came home, and I still hadn't landed on Belsavis. Long story short, without lag I would not have gone back to university. P.S. This is a true story.
