  1. Companion questions Does affection improve companions power/stats? There's no need for implants/ear piece, etc...gear any longer for companions? If we have no affection from a companion will they be much less effective in combat?
  2. I have 14 60's on Jedi Covenant but, I've been playing on Red Eclipse recently...however, there still appears to be no way to transfer characters to European servers from North American Servers. Cannot you come up with a method to transfer characters in this manner? Even if it costs a bit more, I would still do it for some of my North American characters....PLEASE!
  3. I was a big Wildstar fan through beta however, after launch my interest quickly dissipated. I really thought I was going to leave SWTOR. Nope...not for WoW, not for ESO not for Wildstar. I've been back and I'm not really looking to go anywhere else other than an occasional single player game.
  4. I was noticing that my sentinel was dropping health rather quickly yesterday. I figured since it's not a boss and my toon was a few levels over the content I don't need to use interrupts, and defensive skills. However, when I decided to use defensive abilities and interrupts things went smoothly.
  5. I really haven't been following the forums at all. Being able to purchase Update 3.0 along with getting some perks right away (12xp class missions and $0 for skills) is great! I know there's haters out there for one reason or another. Personally I'm pleasantly surprised and it's really re-invigorated my interest in SWTOR. Keep it up!!! Markos
  6. Paid transfers are limited to within the region of the server your transferring from...correct?
  7. I can only speak from my personal experience but, I'm still very much enjoying the game. I have 3 50's and 3 40's on Jedi Covenant. I seem to get into FP's relatively quickly on my tank/healing toons and not so quickly on my dps toons...nothing earth shattering there. WZ's pop fairly quickly.. My problem which is personal is that even though I'd like to see the endgame content...I choose not to invest the time gearing my 50's to be in position to play endgame content. I was the same way when I played WOW. I played off and on from vanilla thru Cata...however, apart from MC/BWL never played endgame content while it was fresh. As with any mmo it's typically made up of a diversity of players (casuals who are ok with early/mid-game content) playing out the different storylines and the those who crave the challenges of endgame. It's difficult to be all things to all people...thus the challenge of today's MMO. PVE/PVP/Crafting/Quality of life...etc... as much as we would like...It's simply to costly to maintain it all. Personally, I'm sick of all the hate I see here, on podcasts and in the community in general. I play games to have fun...if I'm not having fun...I go and do something else...Will I stilll be playing SWTOR in 6 months...probably not but...I'm not going to go on complain incessantly about it. Just because I may get tired of the game doesn't mean it's bad.
  8. In addition to gearing your companion I would supplement your playtime with pvp and flashpoints for xp/gear. I try not to move on to another planet until I'm at least at level for the questing. I'm at 36 and I probably won't go to Quesh until I'm 37.
  9. Great points here in this thread. For those who can heal and tank fine w/o any add-ons fine...I salute your outstanding abilities to play SWTOR effectively. However, for many of us who have had experience with that "other" game since vanilla understand how tank and healing mods really improved the gameplay for those of us who have trouble chewing gum and tying our shoe laces at the same time. If I were devs I would look at some of the best mods used in that other game and incorporate them into SWTOR. By doing so, you continue to control the development of the game. It may not please all players but, it should placate enough of the player base...plus improve the overall quality of the game.
  10. Good question. I decided to dump Bowdaar and Corso in favor of a dps companion. Since I recently got Risha myself I decided to use her. It seems to work better for me when I use her in sniper mode than the AOE mode. Even being sharpshooter spec I thought using her in AOE mode would be a good compliment but, we kill quicker with her in sniper mode and our threat is more evenly distributed. I just picked up Akavi who I lbelieve is a melee dps companion and it would seem she would be better match for me than Risha. Any thoughts from ppl about who would work better for a sharpershooter specced gunslinger?
  11. I really don't need 16 slots. 12 would be nice
  12. This is true!!! However, I could use the speeder in Justicar territory. I don't know why I could there and not the other areas..
  13. There are ppl. in starter zones who just don't know...I don't think I really understood it when I first started playing SWTOR. I do agree it's nice to have the 4 buffs. Relics are another item that a fair number of newer players don't understand it's a good idea to get them.
  14. I haven't done any dailies but, the concept of doing them is NOT appealing at all...thus I have essentially parked my 3 50's. Doing a couple WZ's a day and a FP a day is ok...However..having to grind dailies..."YUCK" !!! I really don't want to go there with my gaming experience. For many of us who might have just a couple uninterrupted hours per night would much rather do something interesting than grindy. Work/School...etc...for many of us is grindy enough!!!! I prefer to have my SWTOR play time to be fun. If that means I miss out on having the appropriate gear for endgame content..so be it.
  15. It's definitely a balancing act...I have a 16 year old son who has an inquisitor on my account and he's always bugging me to play it..."you can when you chores are done" :-)
