  1. WoW NEVER had response issues. The launch was bumpy but still overall just fine. There was some lag. But there was never, ever a response issue within the game engine. You hit a button, and it happened.
  2. Cute, but even if they add more schematics they'll also be adding bigger and better raid/PVP gear. So it's more likely that artifice will always be behind. Checkmate.
  3. Haha, this is what I was about to post. Generally the people against DPS meters/parsers are the people who...do bad DPS. DPS meters help you up your game, learn optimal rotations and priorities.
  4. Indeed. I can guarantee that the way animations work in relation to the GCD is easily holding down my DPS. It's speculation but I'd say it's at least 30-40% less than I could do if I could hit each button as soon as it was up.
  5. Comparisons are a good thing. It promotes competition, and competition is always good in a consumer market. Competition breeds innovation and change and encourages growth.
  6. I'd definitely laugh pretty hard. Probably not true but it does seem somewhat par for the course for what I've seen so far from BW.
  7. The long term costs $15 a month, so they should deliver in short term.
  8. People like to pretend they're better than others by saying they don't need macros or addons to do stuff. It's sad kinda.
  9. Not sure if troll or just clueless.
  10. Don't misunderstand what dual spec means. It has nothing to do at all with changing classes, only talent/skill trees. It changes how your class functions under certain situations, but it does not change your class.
  11. I think you are having issues understanding something. If it's a failure to me...it's a failure to me. And to me that's all that matters. Whether it's a failure to you or anyone else doesn't really matter to me, now does it?
  12. Mine actually sets my settings to low or something. With all settings on low and shadows off I have 10-15 FPS. With all settings on max, including shadows, I have 35-45 FPS. Dat programming.
  13. No, they didn't. While more people did hardmodes in WOTLK than raiding in previous expansions, it was still a fairly small portion of the population of WoW. Just not the 1-4% of people that cleared BC content.
  14. Actually D&D added 'dual spec' and 'respec' before any MMO did.
  15. If they put in the game, and made it accessible, and people accessed it then no, BW is definitely in the wrong. Don't want low levels to go there and do that? Design your game better instead of punishing people.
  16. I would like a developer to actually put forth some work and break the current mold of MMO's. I'm tired of WoW clones. (Aion, Rift, SWTOR, many others). I guess I'll have to wait for Titan to come out to see any innovation, since apparently I can only rely on Blizzard to do it. Story is great. Story however doesn't keep subs for 7 years or more. I don't know about you but once I'm done reading a book I NEVER READ IT AGAIN.
  17. There are too many reasons why it fails for me to list, but to put it simply, to me it fails because there are too many crucial things wrong to continue paying $15 for it. It's as simple as that. The game is fun, but the fun only lasts temporarily. And in an MMO that is not a good thing.
  18. btw he probably meant hardmodes. Which, if you did them as they come out, was quite difficult.
  19. This is not how MMO's work. As soon as the ability to respec was added to the MMO dogma, choices didn't need to be permanent anymore. And, Let's look at Sith warrior as an example. There's no healing, but there is tanking and DPS'ing. What, I can switch from Immortal to Veng/Rage? Yes, big deal. The fact of the matter is respec's are already in the game. Dual spec is convenient and saves money for the player. There is no downside to it whatsoever. Any downside you or others perceive is manufactured by some inane need to "do it old school" or "have choices matter!". I find it more likely that more people will leave because dual spec wasn't put in, as opposed to leaving because it was. WoW and Rift certainly didn't die because of dual spec being added.
  20. That seems really low to me personally. Hell League of legends has more on at peak times than that I believe.
  21. So and hour and a half a day isn't casual? Uh. Pretty sure that's the definition of casual, cowboy. I've killed about 80% of the raid bosses on WoW when they came out/were relevant and raiding in WoW in "casual" terms is as follows: Vanilla - Casual unfriendly, 40 people gathering and difficulty because of lack of abilities, newness, and some bugs. TBC - The least casual friendly expansion, even with the reduction to 25man the content was devastatingly hard for the average player. WOTLK - More approachable due to 10mans, Naxx and ToC were easy, but Ulduar and TFT were difficult. Not as difficult as previous expansions but still enough to not be a pushover. Hardmodes when implemented were a lot of fun, as were doing the crazy achievements. Cata - Difficulty back up, casualness back down. It took waaay longer for people to kill the first set of raid bosses than it did in previous expansions. Still easy to organize raids because of 10man progression (which at this point was our only progression, easier to organize and more individual responsibility/effort than a 25.) This was personally my favorite expansion because of the revamping of talents and classes, and the changing of the game style. SWTOR Unfortunately is way too easy. I mean, my guildmates don't even bring dedicated healers to flashpoints, as long as someone in the party can cast a healing spell they don't need to be spec'd for it and we'll roll our faces on the keyboard and crush the FP. From what I've seen Ops are going to be exactly the same. Press button get loot. I don't want content to be harder so people can't do it and have fun. I want content to be harder so that I can actually enjoy playing it and put in full effort and bring out everything my character can do. And right now that's not the case. As for the heroic quests, if it's not a 4man heroic I can easily do it with just my companion, as both a SS and a SJ. Even the 4man ones only take me and my guild mate who is leveling at the same pace as me, hell sometimes I can still 'solo' the 4man heroics with just companion.
  22. While we are vocal, many people who have this issue simple dont post on forums. They'll quit just because the game "doesn't feel right". I could deal with the game having animations if it didn't ruin many aspects. Right now there's almost no point to a skill being instant or off the GCD.
  23. My biggest problem with it is doing anything off the GCD. Want to interupt someones cast? I sure hope you aren't already in an animation of your own, because you won't get your interupt off. It'll be too late or won't do anything. Want to hit retaliate on your SW/JG? Nope sorry, you're in master strike/ravage animation and it's not going to work. This is the number one issue in this game right now, it is make or break. Literally every other bug in the entire game can and should wait while this is fixed.
  24. I came into this game fully expecting to pay MAYBE a month of sub. I honestly am treating this game and bought this game to play Mass Effect 2.5. And in that vein it wasn't bad.
  25. Because without dual spec the game will stagnate as cookie cutter builds become the normal. As it is right now because respec costs are so INSANE, you can't experiment. Permanent character build choices do not belong in a modern day MMO. They kill the game. I play a tank and a healer, and am completely for dual specs so that other people can actually get groups going. And for an even more constructive response, for me personally, if you don't put in dual spec I won't be renewing my subscription.
