  1. Agree. Got nervous as I always do, stuffed many things up and still managed to complete it at 29. Sad to hear that we don't have any more challenges like Lightspring. Am sawbones though so different play style and weaknesses from slingers.
  2. You get a droid companion later (depends on class) and I understand your ship droid can be tricked out as a basic healer with droid parts.
  3. As usual many people haven't read the original post properly. The OP is talking about travel time to and from planets. Not travel on planets. I agree that travelling on a planet over distance can be a great immersive experience but the way you currently have to get into your ship to travel breaks the immersion completely (described in detail in OP). The pointless long runs through empty spaceports are the worst of it. There must be some technical reason (eg pre-loading planet data) but it's certainly not an improvement to gameplay and as originally stated a throwback to the bad old days. Though I do like the fact that you don't have to bind yourself to one particular quick travel spot - nice change which obviously came late in the game development as the tips still tell you to rebind to a new location. By the way - if you join warzone then get booted from the warzone you will appear in the hangar at fleet, not your original location. A good way to get a free ride to the fleet. I've never done this deliberately, only had this happen because of the shocking load times on warzones.
  4. I think Bioware are using code to communicate. They drop the server connection twice to let you know they are about to take the game offline. It's the same thing as those old-fashioned verbal warnings that other games use to communicate with their players. This would be one of the innovations that Bioware have added to MMOs. It's not their fault we're too dumb to understand.
  5. I'm in the same boat. I don't do Flashpoints so the new content is irrelevant but to further mess up PVP is very frustrating. And the other main thing I do is crafting and selling on the market which has also been mildly screwed over. Plus crashes to desktop that never occurred before the patch. You got to wonder about the testing they do.
  6. The planet commendation vendors sell gear appropriate for level of planet. You'll find them two doors down from the cantina under the senate tower. Also replicated at Fleet HQ - every planet except our starting one has a vendor there. I'm enjoying the main storyline so far - looking forward to it getting even better!
  7. Some quests give them but you can also get them from the commendation weapon vendors. Something on which to spend those useless commendations. Enjoy PVP - you'll never want to go back to killing AIs.
  8. Are you right-clicking on the gift with your companion present? Apologies if this seems like an obvious question but I'm not sure if you are "giving" through some other method, eg click and drag.
  9. Happens for me with Logitech mouse. Tried all the suggested solutions so far and no improvement. Navigating with WASD instead which makes hotkeys awkward. Devs?
  10. What's usually called crafting in MMOs is called Crew Skills in this game (explained here http://www.swtor.com/info/systems/crew-skills). You can send your companion to gather materials, complete a mission or create an item depend on the skills you decide to take. Apparently greater affection on the part of your companion will increase the chances that they could gather a rare material or craft a more powerful item. Only of interest if you're into crafting.
  11. Hidden under a tab at the bottom of the Preferences window. A number of useful things have been hidden in this way in other windows by the interface designers.
