  1. Agreed, Cathar seems like one of those races that would have been added way down the line, and I was expecting a more bold, popular race to come out for the first 'new race' in the game... something to draw players to the game, and for some reason, I personally don't see Cathar having that effect. It does seem the women like Cathar quite a bit, but it just doesn't look right watching and listening to a Cathar speaking perfect english, which an english accent. I picture them having a hiss to their voice, or speaking some really weird language.
  2. Stop playing SWTOR, and boot up WoW and grind out some credits. If by any chance you actually do find out a way to get gold in SWTOR let me know, I would pay a lot of credits for some gold...
  3. Why do you think early access what an option, its a great way for players to feel special for getting to play new content earlier than others, while the devs have a smaller, controlled player base starting to advance through the new content, and catching the bugs before opening the floodgates.
  4. So playing through the new expansion pack with early access gave me a couple of oppertunites to see the cathar race again. Personally I do not like the Cathar race, and they appear really out of place in the game. They have cat-like features (cat nose, and face, hair), but have Bat ears, and them having a human voice and speaking english makes it a little over the top. I feel that if Cathar spoke another language it would look a little more normal (like wookies, some robots, or other races were they use text to show you what they are saying). I cannot imagine this being a main race in the game, and honestly don't see it being used very much... I could be wrong, but again, I dont think a Cathar would be a BA sith marauder, or a powerful Sorc. Just my opinion on the matter, seeing what other people think after playing the expansion a little and seeing the cather a little more.
  5. No, you will get them in the mail the day of the expansion pack. Only us who have early access got our items already, the rest will get them tomorrow.
  6. I had my doubts about it being worth the $10, or if it would actually be considered a true expansion pack. After playing it extensively I would be more than willing to say that this is a great expansion pack for the cost.
  7. No, I'm not. You stated there are MANY bad things, but you didn't list one. Bottom line, the good greatly out weighs the bad for this expansion pack, and most of the bad I have seen are simple technical issues, or bugs that can be worked out.
  8. So if there is one thing I have learned over the past couple days in reguards to the Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion pack, its that the developers definately moving the game in the right direction. This is a summary of some of the best parts of the expansion pack that I have found so far. Achievements - The addition of Achievements initally had me thinking this game would turn into a giant time sink, but in reality I have been finding myself playing through older content again to achieve them, and actually having fun with some of the old flashpoints, and wanting to actually roll new characters to see what achievements come with the stories. Makeb - Makeb is probably the most beautiful planets I have seen in any MMO thus far. It has a great varity of enviorments, and is really large in size. Most of the time I am finding myself looking into the distance while on my speeder in awe of some of the great features... waterfalls, and the well done city details. I have been saying this a lot over the past couple days, but I honestly believe that makeb is the breath of 'fresh air' this game needed. Great development with the makeb enviorment makes me really hopeful of what future planets and places will look like. Story - The stroy in the expansion pack is probably one of my favorite parts. It starts off very boldly, and has a very demanding plot that will draw your attention very easily. Never once did I find myself wanting to press spacebar, and although I was intially disappointed there would not be any individual class storylines, this was easily forgiven by the great plot to makeb. Its very fast paced, and finally makes you feel like the ultimate powerful BA you were portrayed as in the end of each class storyline. Guild experience boost - Another one of smart moves they made in this game was finally listening to the population, and giving a 5% XP boost to people in guilds. This is finally showing the game does care about guilds, and what they offer to the game, and finally gives people more of a reason to join one. This is just the first benefit they have implemented for being in a guild, and if my understanding is correct they are working on more. As a GM of a very active PvE guild, I was very excited, and happy to have this feature, and it there has been a spike of people joining guilds to get this boost. New skill trees, new abilities - When I first heard that they were making skill tree modifications I was excited to see what would be availiable. I am pleased to announce that the new skills and abilities look amazing, and are highly useful. I play 2 classes, and have 1 character to 55, and the other is still at 50. The marauder is my main, and I love the new lightsaber throwing ability, which gives me, finally, a little bit of a better AoE attack, and again it looks awesome. My second character is a Sorc healer, and having reviveification as an insta-cast in a game altering move, and I find myself using it way more often than I did before. I also saw that assassin tanks have a really neat new teleporting type ability that is a lot of fun. It seems like the developers are starting to understand that having fun moves and animations in the game can make a big difference. Gear - The new gear looks great, and again, this is another step in the right direction in my opinion. The gear is more 'star wars oriented' and feels like it could actually be gear you could see in a movie, or show. Removing the lower classes of gear (tionese, columi, rakata) was a great decision, and makes the gear have a more natural flow of progression for most classes. Its also a lot easier to aquire this new gear, as they have simplified the names of the comms used for purchasing the gear, making it easier for first time MMO players to discover gear up for end game. Overall, this was a very great experience, and I did not want to stop playing once I started. As I stated may times before, the developers have taken many of the player's advice, and put them into the game, and have developed one of the best expansion packs for any MMO to date. If the developers continue to put content like this out I have no doubt this MMO will be around for many more years to come.
  9. I agree, i was fully geared, with BIS for every piece of gear, its was easy, I didnt intend for it to be that way, just the way it played out.
  10. Which class, and spec has the best RDPS at this time? I was going to roll a sniper, but didnt know if maybe a BH merc, or powertech would be better.
  11. It was a WAY faster grind from 50-55 than it was from 45-50, by far. My server is offline (Prophecy of the Five) and there is no indication anywhere of what is going on, or when it will be restored.
  12. He never said in any way, shape, or form that it affected him in any sort of way. He was just asking how that is possible. I hate people who don't read the thread before they reply.
  13. I also agree... ITS MY MONEY, AND I WANT IT NOW!... Wait, I think is this the wrong thread...
  14. Well I have a buddy that is F2P, and what he did is have a crafter make him a bunch of stuff, then had them mailed, and he paid in a couple of installments.... all of which was paid for my selling items on the GTN, then once he capped out in credits, he mailed them away, got more credits, mailed more, ect... .he got his marauder geared in full 63's from the dude that had a bunch of pre-mades in about 3 days... he didnt run a single thing, just hit 50 and took advantage of the P2W loop hole.
  15. Its alright bro, I went a couple rounds with this dude, and came to the same conclusion, he misses the point almost everytime. I agree with you Levity, it totally is P2W if you can just make enough money to get all the best gear in the game by just hitting 50, then making a boat load of credits by selling cartel items, then buying everything for gear on the GTN... without running a single daily, HM FP, any operations, gaining any Comms, ect.
  16. I'm sorry, I didn't know I had to spell it out for you... P2W=Bad for PvE and Raiding, I know all this is very difficult to understand, maybe some day this will make sense for you.
  17. Like I said before, everything you said past that point is now discredited, so there is no more reason to even try and justify youself anymore... other than for my enjoyment that is.
  18. Ty, an acitve raider is finally making some sense of what I was trying to say!
  19. There is a good idea, just eliminate all the extra BS it takes to get the credits, and just purchase them directly... may as well!
  20. Achievements will be pretty fun, and having a Non-Trival gear progression is a big one for me too.
  21. Yep, all you need to do is buy some cartel packs, sell all them, then purchase the top tier gear with the credits you earn... have fun!!
  22. You mad bro? Can't seem to discredit me? Its alright, its something called being wrong, it probably happens to you all the time. But its alright, you can try to come up with more and more instances were you try to justify, then discredit your own theories, im having quite a good time watching you, and discrediting everything you say... here watch this. You said by 'my theory a sub gets credits' and therefore you assume I think thats P2W? Wrong, everyone gets credits sub for F2P, Before the cartel market people had to hit 50 first, then spend countless hours grinding out dailies, or crafting and selling on GTN to get credits... bottom line, there was no way you could just hit 50 and get ALL the gear unless your one lucky SOB and someone just gives it all to you for free... which would literally probably never happened. Now, you hit 50.... then you buy some cartel packs, sell all them on the GTN, have millions of credits, and purchase all the top tier gear without running a single thing... that person just paid to win. End of Story... wasn't that fun?! I will leave you with this... a fresh 50 can get all the best gear in the entire game, F2P or Sub, without touching a single HM FP, OP, running a single daily, or spending hours grinding credits, or crafting then selling and purchasing on the GTN... P2W Bro, its that simple.
  23. Lol, yes, it is. I paid for my gear... literally you defined what I did right here... Irony? No, you literally make no sense, everything you say from this point forward I am immediately going to ignore because you keep discrediting yourself. Good day sir.
  24. Apparently you don't know what P2W in an MMO means... if you have top tier gear, you do have a HUGE advantage over other players in the game lol. And yes, it is PTW. They may as well have just sold them to me on the cartel market for $60, because thats essentially what happened, there was no loop holes I had to jump through, I just obtained a boat load of credits from my RL money I spent in the cartel market, and was able to max out my character, and actually a quater of another in one day, without running a single thing.
  25. what are you talking about lol, you are making no sense... you purchase the Cartel Coins with RL MONEY, then you purchase something on the cartel market, and you can sell it for IN-GAME CREDITS, in which you USE TO PURCHASE the best gear in the game with. If you could not sell the content purchased on the cartel maket then you could not get in game credits from your cartel market purchases. If you made it BOL once you put it in your inventory, then it would resolve the issue, in which I have done myself. You could only send your purchases on the cartel maket to alts... and use it on the characters on YOUR LEGACY ONLY. You will still purchase the cartel coins with RL money, you just would not be able to sell the items in game, they would be immediately bound to your legacy. This is what I did... Spent $60 on Cartel Coins -> Purchased a bunch of Cartel Packs -> Sold Cartel Packs on the GTN for credits -> Used credits from sale of Cartel Packs, to purchase 63's for Armorings, Mods, Enhancements, and Hilts... PTW.
