  1. Some people are more interested in being 'friends' with Bioware or part of the 'team'. Sadly these are lot of the 'forum junkies' and 'beta testing crew'. Yes men. Then there are the more casual gamer/consumer type like myself unsubbing who is 35 years old and very experienced since the original Star Wars Galaxies who is seriosly trying to help save the game because I want the game to do well. It hurts me I waited years for this game. 1 - Relieve the duties of the project manager. Sorry he has to take responsibility for admitting he wanted a socialist game where everyone had the same abilities. He's on video admitting this. That breaks the competitive spirit in people. 2 - Take away player puffs/debuffs in PVP. We need to actually be able to utilize the gear we spent so much time grinding for. If not, people will feel they are wasting their time playing the game and unsub (like me). 3 - Move to a 'rock, paper, scissors' formula. One class should be able to beat one class, but lose against another. Very basic formula. 4 - Take away free grear and medical drops during questing to stimulate the auction economy and crafting. I can't sell anything at the auction on the busiest server. 5 - Consolidate PVP servers and group instances into the best serves. This is what is done on WoW and I'm AMAZED that no one at Bioware knew how to setup these warzones and instances. 6 - Redesign PVP zones and bring in capture the flag. Do NOT design PVP for 'mosh pit' play like guarding an object. That takes away any kind of skill or tactical team work. Huttball is a good start, but awful level design that results in frustration. Not excitement. Please no more 'guarding objects'. It's not good design because it creates mindless mosh pits. 7 - Fix world PVP so we see opposite players but I know at this stage you really can't do anything about this so I put this at the bottom.
  2. No please don't say this. There are likely important people that are going to be reading this and if this game was like Vanilla WoW we'd ALL be here playing and the game would be growing massively. Don't you dare say 'it's too much like WoW'. Anyone can tell you that it's not. As an experienced gamer, SWTOR and WoW are *NOTHING* alike.. At ALL. SWTOR is more like a single player Diablo world RPG final fantasy story action game. Not an MMORPG. Two DIFFERENT games completely.
  3. Dude I promise you I'm on Fatman and I would wait almost an hour to log in and NEVER run into the opposite faction. I have only ONCE been asked to join a group and this is with me being on LFG *ALL* the time. Even then joining groups aren't fun. There is low moral the fighting elites is not fun. There are no giant dragons, and 40 man raids. You'll end up being stuck with PVP as 'the only thing to do' and when you reach level 50 you won't like it. Gear won't make you any more better/stronger. It's almost pointless to continue playing and trust me rolling on Fatman is not the answer.
  4. Been a month and since hitting 50 and realizing all my time and effort went to waste not being able to utilize the talents and gear that I worked towards, I've decided to close my account. Yes I can use it, but they don't do anything. It's pointless to continue. I feel 'duped' that I bought the game and wasted this much time on it. I haven't done it yet but haven't logged in for the first time today and have no desire to. I know exactly how the PVP session will turn out regardless of gear. I'm not up for a mosh pit of laser shots and button mashing. All the toons are the same except for range ability which hits just as hard as melee. That is illogical. No individuality. All the same power with the ranged class having a huge, huge advantage over eveyrone else. The PVP is flawed because it promotes a 'cluster' 'mosh pit' environment. Absolutely no skill needed. No capture the flag. Huttball is ok and my favorite PVP, but too boxed in and too advantageous for laser rifles and ranged players. Just think about the level design. Often if you aren't ranged you are sitting duck. Can't sell anything in the marketplace so why bother crafting. The game is basically pointless. I can say that I'll never return to the game as long as the players are buffed to 49 and the PVP is a mosh pit. The game is 'socialist'. Tries to make everyone the same. This is NOT conducive of the 'competitive spirit' of an MMORP and is why people are turned off (aside from it being just un-fun to play). You need to code the game for 'rock, paper scissors'. Not 'rock, rock, rock with ranged attack'. The game is deeply flawed and the lead developer SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE and relieved of his position for goofing it up this bad. Sorry but if you don't have talent you shouldn't get rewarded. He needs to be held to account for making us wait YEARS for this game and ruining this project. I hope a director is reading this message. Oh PS, the endless dialogue was good for the first few times, but too much of a good thing gets old fast. I was on my iPad for most of the dialog. A bad place to put funds when the curent game is so lacking. You need to put a new project manager in charge of the game who understands rock, paper, scissors. Whoever was responsible for ruining this game needs to be let go. Many have already said it.
  5. It doesn't matter if you merge the servers. I'm on the busiest server and NEVER see any opposite faction. Not even much of my own. During PVP it's the same people over and over. IF there's a premade you just have to give up the whole night. IF ANY OF YOU GUYS THINK YOU DON'T SEE ANY OPPOSITE FACTIONS BECAUSE YOU ARE ON A SLOW SERVER, I AM ON FATMAN AND LAST MONTH WAITED THROUGH 400 PEOPLE LOGINS AND ALMOST NEVER SAW ANY OTHER FACTION PLAYERS. GOT INTO WORLD PVP MAYBE 4 TIMES THE WHOLE GAME. THE GAME WILL FEEL JUST AS EMPTY AND SLOW ON FATMAN TRUST ME BECAUSE BIOWARE SEPARATED THE PLAYERS ON PURPOSE DURING DEVELOPMENT. THIS IS SOCIALISM. MICRO-MANAGE AND CONTROL THE CHILDREN SO THEY DON'T FIGHT.
  6. Not it wasn't. We were all at work one day at Microsoft and this video link got emailed to each other. This was before Youtube. It was the Leeroy Jenkins video. It was funny but the next question is 'wow you can talk live on games now?' 'what game is that?' 'these guys are actually calculating stats'? It just drew men in. A couple of years later and through word of mouth, everyone was playing it. It grew through word of mouth. Back then there wasn't even facebook. People joined the same guilds, played the same game, did voice chat and it because a game were litterally people who went away for school or work could re-unite on the game. From Montreal to Ottawa, to Texas we all played. It was fun. The more you worked for your gear and the more you practiced, the better your results and the more rewards (freedom). Then the head developer left the game and they created a 'death night' in an attempt to make all the kids happy. That was the games first step towards socialism/communism. Then they took away abilities to make things 'fair'. Then on PVP all you would see is Deathnights chaining people left right and centre. Everyone who put in time and effort into their toons lost all the hard work they worked for. Kids rolled the Deathnights and were the most powerful. At that moment they lost TONS of subs as the game became 'less fun'. People played the game on and off for years. At my next jobs, the WoW people would find each other at work and play. People were paying Chinese games to level their toons and you could buy gold from gold farmers. The head developers left, and the game became socialist/communist. Just like in real life, it brought on poverty, low moral, and people not wanting to work anymore. All they had left was to cry that things weren't fair and too look to big brother for more regulations. The more people lose freedoms, the more they drop out. This is what socialism breeds. It kills the competitive human spirit and creates an attitude of 'entitlement'. The goal of the developers are to make a playing field that is relatively fair and it's up to the user how far they want to go. You can't have everything. No super classes. You want range? Fine, but you won't get DPS. You want DPS? Fine. But you won't get armor. You want to heal? Fine, but you won't get DPS. Rock, Paper, Scissor. - The winning formula for MMORPGs. You need to chose which one your are going to be. -Scissors - I'm a DPS class. I'm scissors. I can really cut though paper easily,. but I cannot cut through a rock. A rock is a tank. If I get caught off guard, my armour is so weak that I will lose quick. However If I get the upper hand on the burst attack, I can cut through paper. -Paper - I'm a Ranged/Crowd Control/Healing class. I'm paper. I can do many things to many people at once, or I can shoot from far away. Like paper I cover everything. Very general. I can cover over the rock if I'm well equiped enough becuase I have so much crowd control, stuns, and bleeds. I can also heal myself. However, if a DPS class gets me I'm toast because he'll drain too much of my healthbar as I have mediocre armor mitigation. -I'm a Tank. A rock. Burst DPS doesn't hurt me because of my armor and my ability to last long. Your combos won't harm me. I am the master of mitigating kenetic damage. However, I cannot heal myself and my dps is *VERY WEAK*. I can last a long time so you better have some heal abilities or some medium armor and be able to stun me if you want to beat me. If not, you won't be able to cut through me so DPS combos don't phase me. Now as a gamer, you chose what you want. Which do you want to play. Any one of these will beat another class. You will win, but you will also lose. It's your choice, your destiny. Right now though, Everyone does everything and everyone is a rock. This is why no one is having fun playing the game. It's socialist right now. We need liberty and freedom to chose.
  7. That's right it wasn't. OK GUYS LISTEN: WoW - Rock, Paper, Scissor - EACH CAN BEAT ONE ANOTHER. Since they are ALL powerful in different ways, they are ALL the same. SWTOR - Rock, Rock, Rock - They are ALL THE SAME POWER, however, there is NO POINT IN PLAYING THE GAME. SWTOR - PVP Skill? Who cares! Don't need that. You'll have 3 snipers camping you out critting you for 3k from 'who knows where. 80 meters away. Getting shot for 1k white damage from some guy up on a bridge or who knows where. Everyone is a ranged class. Even myself as a STEALTH dps class is able to do that damn lightning from 30m which is unfair to everyone else and it's NOT an ability I should have. PVP Gear? Don't need that! Your crits will still be the same. You'll still die just as fast. Casting DOTS? Why bother? Every class can cast them off. Why bother using them? Wanna speck something interesting? Not so fast! You are literally forced into one part of your tree. This isn't WoW where you change vastly from one spec to another. So everyone is a ranged class, everyone can buy a heal buff or self heal, everyone is a tank. So now we're playing Rock, Rock , Rock. Not Rock Paper Scissors. The game is socialist. Communist. You see guys.. let this be a life lesson away from gaming. You can't base a system off giving something to free to everyone. It breeds low moral, it rewards bad behaviour, and it creates negativity. The human spirit wants to work to be the best they can be. We want to take pride in building our toon. We all want to win! If you play Rock, Scissor, Paper, you'll win sometimes and have fun. Especially if you work at it. If you play Rock, Rock, Rock, which is the socialist version of the game so 'nobody loses' then the game becomes pointless and people forced to play it won't see the point and won't play it for long. I'm telling you there's litterally no point in playing the game. There game gives free drops, stim packs, med packs to everyone. So why bother crafting? I can't take part in the economy at all. It's pointless. Why? Because they give free gear and item mods to everyone. Free PVP buffs so a level 15 is beating out a level 45. PVP *DE BUFFS* so if you DID work hard for your gear it's pointless as they drop DOWN your crits and power. And in the end, who cares because PVP is one big cluster *** mosh pit of 3 second kills and these endless sniper shots coming from who knows where. The game just isn't fun to play. SWTOR is like playing Rock, Rock, Rock - pointless and futile.
  8. Thanks for understanding. My brother in law played the beta and told me he didn't like the game that much and didn't plan on playing it. We all played WoW. All night raids from Canada to USA. It was like a mens Facebook we were all on it (this is back when it was level 60 and still good). And to think we would complain back then lol.. I'm trying to let someone with common sense know why the average person is not going to play the game long term and keep their account active. If I can't spec into my own character and enjoy the fruits of my labour, then why on earth would I continue playing the game and keeping my account? Why do I want to spend time on gear sets when it won't do anything for me and the game is going to buff everything down? Why do I want to compete with a bunch of pre-mades the whole night to the point where we are all standing around just farming medals because we literally can't play the game? Why do I want to sit in some PVP 'mosh pit' dying in 4 seconds and getting critted by some laser rifle 80 meters away from 'who knows how far'? It seems a lot of you guys never played the old WoW when it was in its Golden Age or even the original Star Wars Galaxies. There is *NO* comparison between those games and this one. In WoW we'd spend half the time making macros, researching stats, organizing combos, binding hot keys, playing PVP, world PVP'ing. You could spend all day playing capture the flag. God it was so fun. So so so so many LOL moments. So many crazy things happened. In the origional Star Wars Galaxies everything in the game was player made. EVERYTHING. So if you wanted a rifle, you had to go to an weaponsmith who would be a real player. Players had their own built cities and houses. You asked around for a weaponsmith and someone would give you a referal. You could also visit his house and he would build you the weapon. It would take a couple of days. The DPS, durability, and stats of the weapon was dependant on the quality of the materials and skill of the crafter so you had to look to the guy who could produce the goods. When you pay him the money for the rifle, he's able to rip you off and take your money. Or you're able to take the gun and rip him off. Once you got the rifle you then went to a 'slicer'. He was an underworld type character that had the ability to 'slice' your weapon and boost the base stats. Now if he was a GOOD slicer, you'd luck out and get all the stats increased. If he was bad, it could actually decrease the rifles stats and ruin the rifle. Or, the slicer could just run away with your rifle. When you'd go to the pace ports there would be lowbies begging for change becuase they couldn't afford to travel. You'd see these comic book style call-out boxes 'Spare some change, traveling to xyz'. Everyone in the game helped each other out. I was a miner. I would mine metals and water. I would have to travel all over the place and survey land looking for the best copper, zinc, aluminum I could get. The water was used by Doctors would could buff you. Those had a lot of stats and would ensure the outcome of the final weapon or buff. Only a doctor could buff you. To make money I would stand out in the main area in a doctors coat and people would line up single file and I would buff them each one. They could rip me off though and run away if they chose. You could take up talents. One of them was 'animal taming'. You could just walk up to any beast and tame them. And then raise them and even genetically modify them. We called them 'pets'. You could take out HUGE pets. I'm talking massive beasts that shook the screen when they walked. So you can see how these games were far, far, far better than this game which is this socialist/communist sort of game where they don't let you enjoy the fruits of your labor. You get treated like a child in this little box and we get this enough in life in general and the game is not an escape. It's just boxed in and frustrating. The PVP is a joke and NOT fun. It's one big mosh pit. This game is so fundamentally flawed that's it's almost beyond fixing. It doesn't matter what you do because you'll never get to utilize your gear potential due to the socialist/communist attitude of the developers. Socialism breads corruption and negativity. In early WoW and SWG you were completely free. You controlled your own destiny and if you worked for your stats, you'd make the top of list. I mean.. it's a great single player Diablo style game and you like lore and LOTS of dialog. Myself I just went on the iPad during all the dialog.. too much of a good thing I guess. That's what SWTOR is.. basically a single player Diablo game. Not anywhere close to a real MMORPG and especially with a $200,000,000 budget I can't image where all this money got wasted. I don't ever see them making the money back.
  9. Here I just took a screenshot.. we simply gave up playing against a premade the whole team just sat and farmed metals guarding because there's nothing we could do. This pic shows how severely off track the game is and I think honestly at this point it's looking to become a failed game. The below picture should 'shock' people in retrospect and hopefully wake some people up that the game is about to become a flop: http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r261/mikedavid00/5-8-20121-29-56AM.png
  10. Rock Paper Scissor. Every class should be able to clear out another class for good gameplay and fun. You never saw a Rogue trying to take out a Pally or a Warrior. Actually the frost mages could ice block you if they were good so even though they were clothies they could always ice block and blink out. Frost mages often were at the top of the list. Druids, Warriors, Mages, Hunters, Priests, any class could be at the top of the list. SWTOR - Tanks clustered at the top, Inquisitors at the bottom regardless of gear. The game is fundamentally ruined and I don't think they're going to see a return on investment as it cost $200,000,000 to make this game. Obviously the project wasn't properly managed and the ideas (like getting sick and a legacy system) show a clear lack of priorities. Look at this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnKYF_ZZQDE He basically says he's decently geared and just isn't enjoying the game. I agree. I'm also not enjoying the game.
  11. Screenshots coming tonight. I offer proof, you offer opinion.
  12. You don't get it. Grinding gear is futile and pointless in this game. That's like asking me to 'shine the care more' to enjoy a car I'll never be able to drive.
  13. Don't worry I'll take some screenshots tonight and we'll see who's spreading the misinformation. You bring opinion, I bring numerical proof.
  14. I agree. MMORPGS can not be socialist. That's what sunk WoW and lost them all the subs. The Deathnight was the death of WoW. You need to take an approach that if you put in the work for gear, you get rewarded for your work. But in this modern day and age of socialism maybe peoples minds are skewed and everyone wants free stuff for nothing. They want everyone to be the same. Those who work for the gear should be the power house of the PVP charts. Regardless of class. A class should not be completely OP or completely under. There should be MANY choices of how to stack gear to your liking. There shouldn't be literally one single set that everyone is using. It was rare in WoW to get the best sets. In this game everyone has them. Also ranged attacks IS indeed a problem. Only the hunter had ranged attacks. A single class. He had a weak hit, and had a slow shoot. He could put bleeds on you and slow you down. But he wasn't some kind of crit machine. The PVP is not fun. At the end of the day it's not fun going into a mosh pit and then being shot at a long range from 'who knows where' being shot for 2.5k crits and 700 white damage. There's also no capture the flag. Everyone loves capture the flag so why not put it in. I have never once seen an LOL moment or positive vibes in chat. Never once. Compared to WoW capture the flag 'GO GO GO' sort of thing everyone having fun. So many LOL moments and funny things happened. Overall the vibe is very NEGATIVE on PVP chat window. Low moral. People not having fun. Only playing because of the time investment or there is nothing else to play.
