  1. I was just curious as to whether or not anyone has personally come across any ME easter eggs/references in this game. I would actually be kind of surprised if they didn't have at least one. Also, though I find it unlikely, do you think they'll add any ME crossover gear/weps/items/companions as bonuses to the game? What do you guys think?
  2. Yes, I love how after you save peoples lives in the earlier levels, they mail you their pocket change as thanks... :/
  3. Hey guys I'm pretty new to MMO's and I'm just wondering about Dual Specs. I looked it up online and I was wondering if you could clarify on what I got from it. Does this mean I'll be able to have a second set of how I put points into my skill tree? Meaning if I was a BH merc, I could also have a second tree that's spec'd to a PT? Also if that's this case, how do you go about switching it when you want to use the PT? Just push a button? Any cool down? I know it's not even out yet so people don't know for sure, but I guess I'm asking based on what you've all experienced in other MMOs. Thank you in advance!
  4. Oh my god, I'm so sorry! Who's hurt!?!?... Wait.. no one?... Everyone's ok?..... Oh.. well in that case relax. Don't need to be spoken down to for making a simple mistake.
  5. I know what happened. Happened to me with my BH. Started off with the default red crystals in my blaster, but I decided to go light side. Didn't get a chance to upgrade my crystals for a good long time, was at lvl 25 before I found a new red crystal to use. BUT when i popped out my crappy old red crystal to put my new red crystal in, it wouldn't let me! Then I was stuck with NO Crystals in my blaster because I was a light side BH. A very nice person made me some blue crystals and sent them to me. However I had just recently gotten a new orange blaster that by default had a good level red crystal in it, and i could use it no problem. Thus my dual blasters have one red crystal and one blue crystal, looks pretty awesome when I fire. I'm assuming it was something like this. Most likely the crystal was already attatched when he or she got the saber, or they put it in before they reached the point on the light/dark side scale where it would forbid certain crystals to you. So say he/she's a light side char, when she pops out that red crystal, she won't be able to put it back in. It will go "dim", and say it's forbidden to lightside 1 and above or whatever it says. Hope I helped clear up any confusion. Pretty sure this is what it is If you could get a lightsaber with the purple crystal ALREADY inside of it, whether it's mailed or what not, maybe you could use it then? (I have no idea if you can even mail from empire to republic, or any of that, just theorizing on this part)
  6. Thank you everyone for your posts. Wow, this forum community is a lot nicer than some, but I'm not gonnadiablo3 name names....
  7. DLing Jedi Academy now. As for the fact that there's some things a saber can't cut through, I agree with you. But sith robes? Jedi robes? That's a little silly. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the new star wars movies that has ninja like lightsaber combat and dodging. Most of a jedi sentinels attacks are kinda "Darth Vaderish" too. Slow and and grounded. That observation is for another thread though. Off topic, how do you do multiple quotes from different posts? I'm not a big forum goer but I need to know this. I NEED to.
  8. Yeah I see what you mean. Infact, now that I really think about it, i think some mobs who have vibro blades actually clash with your saber as you attack. Maybe what I want is just an animation for that every time. It would take a heck of a lot of work, and I mean A LOT of work, because they'd have to create animations for blocking or dodging every skill from each ability each class has, and then make different dodging or blocking animations for each class as well. And THEN you'd have to figure out what happens when you both use skills at the same time.. Yes I'm quite aware that I'm arguing against my own idea. I guess I do it in hopes of people not flaming me for an idea. Don't do that (wave)
  9. Bushido blade = one of my top ten games. Yeah it was for PSX. I DLed it and used a psx emulator just to replay it a couple months back. I would LOVE a new one. You know they came out with a sequel right? Bushido blade 2 on PSX as well. Had some characters that used guns. It was actually pretty fun. But yes, that's a good example of how games like that are in fact possible.
  10. Well maybe an endurance or stamina meter like the other fellow posted? You could get more "tired" to the point where you were just too tired to defend yourself I suppose. Or maybe the chance % of you getting hit goes up as your meter goes down? I'm sure some sort of mechanic could be worked out. I just thought it'd be nice to have the saber just hit once like it should be, but I suppose most of you are right when you say it'd would be very hard to pull off. I could always use my force persuade power again to make Bioware look into it.... Loved Jedi Academy and it's prequels btw. Think it might have been the first games that had different light saber combat forms.
  11. They're adding pencil's in the next update. FU2 is awful, I know, I was just looking for a comparison. As for the whole coming back to life thing, I don't mean to make the whole game realistic to that extreme, but like I said, I've never played a SW game that uses the lightsaber like you would "in real life". Maybe they could come out with a feature that instead of a health meter, you have a block meter? And that instead of getting "hit" you "Block", and the meter drops as if a health meter would. Then the killing blow actually hits you in the animation. That'd work for jedi and sith, and with blaster users, they could have a shield meter, with the same results. Edit: I actually really like this i idea.... And so do you. (waves hand in front of you)
  12. In every star wars game I've played, this has been one issue that's always bugged me. I don't think I remember a game where the lightsaber has been a one hit kill like it should be. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they should add this to SWTOR. That would involve a lot of work and might make Jedi and sith a liiiiitle OP, nevermind how quick pvp would be. I just have a dream where they come out with a game that uses a lightsaber as it's portrayed in the SW universe. SW force unleashed was close, but still, if i have to make more than one direct hit with a lightsaber, something's wrong with that. Then again I guess you could say that about blasters, swords, or any other death dealing weapon. Anyway, this is just one of the "Universe to game" transfers that bothers me. Anyone else have anything like that?? (Btw I love this game, not flaming it at all.)
  13. Unless there are a different amount of quests for each class, I don't see how you came across this problem. I lvled a sentinel to 50, and I didn't do one flashpoint and only 2 heroics. Only time I ran into that prob was at lvl 49, until I realized there were quests on the planet I just haven't found yet. You actually might want to look into that. When on a planet quests are usually grouped together at a certain base area, and the end of one of those quests could lead you to another"base" area that has a new bunch of quests. Also, there are sometimes just random quests you'll run across by exploring the planet. They are by themselves off in obscure areas. Don't forget to do space quests either,I know its boring to repeat them but I think everyday they reset to give you a good bump in xp. (Could be wrong about this.) Also if you have any stealth abilities, or are just very good at avoiding mobs on your way to quests, you might want to tone down doing it. Yes, I know, its a bad bandaid but a lot of your xp comes from mob grinding, whether you mean it to or not. Pvp xp might have been toned down but its more entertaining then killing mobs IMO. If all that fails, your only option left is to pray to Jeebus Crunch for retribution and absoluton. Hah Lay Lew Yah! EDIT: Oh, one thing I didn mention is that around your level I was always 2 or 3 levels below what the planet wanted me at, so I guess if you're trying to lvl to where they tell you you should be at for the next planet, you're out of luck. Pvp and flashpoints are PART of this game, you can't complain about not being t the lvl you should be at when you're ignoring part of the game that will get you there. I don't mean this in a negative way but KOTOR and KOTOR2 would be perfect for you if you haven't tried it yet. Pretty much this game but single player.
  14. No one eh? Really thought it wasn't that bad of an idea, even if the legacy level was the same through out characters.
  15. First off, I apologize if this idea has been posted before. Anyway, an idea just popped into my head considering what to do with the "legacy" levels you earn while playing the game. I think it would be kind of cool that once you reach a certain level of legacy with one character, when you're playing an alt, you actually get to interact with your first character in quests or maybe just cut scenes. That's probably a lot of work, but it could work as "Legacy quests", kinda like side quests. Maybe getting specific legacy gear that has your previous character's first name on it? For instance my character's name is Flack, it could be something like "Flack's dirty used ear implant". ( You get the idea.) At the very least, you could atleast have your previous high legacy characters in cut scenes. I feel like that would be pretty easy to just pop one in to a blank spot of standing room, and would (maybe) give the player a sense of accomplishment to see a character they worked hard on appear in the game outside of their direct control. Anyway, just an idea, and I apologize again if it's been brought up already. EDIT: For the legacy quests to work, it would probably make sense for the first character to have finished it's story line quests, though that would be at odds with the actual legacy XP and leveling. Dunno, just a rough draft idea. Also, I'm not entirely sure whether your legacy level is consistent through out each character, as I've made two chars on two diff servers. If so I guess this idea is pretty much scrapped.
  16. So just to clarify, someone told me that if i found an orange chest piece at lvl 30, it would not be as good as an orange chest piece i found at lets say 47. They said regardless of what mods i have, each piece of armor has a base armor rating, so that the lvl 47 armor rating would be better, even if i used the same mods. So what you guys are saying is that this is NOT true? That the armor rating is only based on the armor mod? Thank you in advance for clarifying.
  17. I lvled to 400 on Artifice, arch, and treasure hunting. I definitely recommend them to sentinels. Great for self modding as stated above. If you're just starting a new sentinel i also recommend using these skills from the very beginning and keep at them while leveling. I could usually make mods a couple levels higher than my char so it gave me time to make them, re-engineer them, and get better versions by the time I could use them.
  18. yeah noticed that after posting. Thank you, and sorry again for double posting. Is it possible for me to delete my threads?
  19. Huh.. I haven't had any issues. I haven't done too much pvp, because i'm not very good at running around while attacking (pvp noob) but i don't have any trouble pveing at all. I do feel however that if i screw up in my attack routine against an elite, it could make a big difference, and without doc i'd most likely be a toasted ravioli. Just don't think it's that big of a disadvantage I guess. I wonder if a lot people aren't keeping up with their mods.. Either way I'm sure when i get into my alts the game will be that much easier and i'll enjoy lvling them up. Thanks for the responses everyone.
  20. At lvl 47 i was taking down lvl 50 elites. Used combat spec tree and doc.
  21. Yup, I second this. When the enemy was stunned, it wasn't moving so at that time it was both a stun and a root. Now it's just a root. I really hope this is a bug that they'll fix, and not just a trade off, because if it is, it doesn't make any sense.
  22. Hey guys, quick question. When I first got master strike, once I activated it, it would stun the mob for the duration of the attack. They didn't attack me during it, just stood there swaying in pain. Note that this only worked on normal / "weak" mobs. It was like that for quite a few levels. Now this could be coincidence, but I think that all changed when i put a skill point into the skill that says something along the lines of "Master strike will disable the enemy 50% of the time". Not sure on the exact wording. Once I put a point into that, ,master strike only stunned them half the time. Once I put ANOTHER point into that, it hasn't stunned them since. They attack me freely while I'm doing my attack. I've asked in my server's general chat for answers to this, but no body knew so I thought I'd ask here. My guess is maybe it stops the mob from being able to move but not attack? Could someone clear this up for me? I'm sorry if it's been asked already, new to the forum. Thanks in advance. EDIT: DARNIT! I did it again. I promise I wont post a thread from now on unless I comb through the entire forum. I'm sorry. Again.
  23. Didn't see this thread and made my own, sorry for that. I'll just post here what I posted there. This is the first time I've actually gotten this far in an MMO, so I'm no where close to being an expert on these things, but I don't see why people think the sentinel is so bad? I've always been about two or three levels below where i'm supposed to be taking on mobs and elites and I haven't really had much of an issue. I'm lvl 48 now and I'm taking on lvl 50 elites. My gear is almost all orange except for "bracers?" and belt. Maybe it's because I always use Doc? I guess without him I'd be way too squishy. I guess I just don't see what's wrong with them. Are they awful in PVP? I'm honestly curious, because I'm worried I shouldn't have rolled this class.
