  1. So unsub FFS! I'm so tired of all you negative Nancy boys on the forums, polluting it with your tripe. If you don't enjoy the game, or are not satisfied with content then find something else to do. One of the reasons this game doesn't grow is because people who are considering playing this game come to these forums and see nothing but incessant whining from people like you. How do I know this? Because I've had 3 seperate coworkers(all of which I played WoW with for years) get turned off by the game because of reading the garbage most of this forum is filled with. Luckily they had enough sense to come over and watch me play, start a toon of their own. You don't get a second chance at a first impression, and for many curious MMO vets who come to the forums looking for the game/communities climate, people like you are not making a good one. Go ahead and go down your list of things that YOU don't like, or things that aren't up to YOUR standards, I won't read it. For every 1 of you(forum cryers) there are 25 people like me who enjoy the game and don't spend an inordinate amount of time complaining on a forum of a product I'm paying for, that I don't enjoy(which is completely asinine, within itself).
  2. http://dulfy.net/2012/04/07/paxeast-...nel/#more-2605 Q: I know in MMOs class balance is always an ongoing thing, it is never perfected. Most of the changes in 1.2 I agree with but shadow/assassin tank hybrids – 400k damage and lots of protection. TLDR: there is a shadow/assassin tank hybrid spec I feel is overpowered- are the devs ok with this? A: If there are hybrid specs that are outperforming the metrics we have set for them, we are certainly going to take a look at that. As of right now, we have not found hyrbid specs we have not addressed yet. As of right now, we don’t see it right now. You may see a flash of brillance from a particular spec in one particular situation/warzone but overall we consider all the specs are performing in line with each other. TLDR; Straight from the horses mouth. Cry all you want, the game isn't balanced around 1v1 skirms(the area that spec excels in) and no amount of whining on the forums is going to change that.
  3. Ummm darkness assassins don't hit for huge numbers. They just hit you a lot of times and have good survivability. Outside of assassinate, you're going to be hard pressed seeing a Crit over 3k.
  4. This. These threads are getting pretty old and the fact that your random whiner lumps deception and madness in with the "op talk" shows just how clueless most of these people are. I've even seen people complain about darkness while describing deception abilities...
  5. It really depends on the situation. When I was darkness and rolling solo I would shoot for 3xHD for the heal and using thrash for an energize proc while wither and shock come off CD was the quickest way to get there. Also, the variation in rotation that you're talking about would net you less than 100 extra dps. Although you're correct and when playing with a premade you can optimize your dps by foregoing thrash and the 3rd HD proc but it still a minimal gain when looked at overall(barring the other team stacking up and letting you get maximum damage out of wither). If you're in the position to not use thrash and HD as intended, by all means, do it. But on average, more people queue solo and can't rely on pocket healers so the parsed rotation is in fact the most effective route.
  6. This, plus parasitism and the 2 pc. Force Master set bonus adding up to 2.5% health per DoT Crit really sets madness apart from deception. With the teir 1 Crit talent and improved lightning charge I run around with about 41-42% Crit while engaged so the healing really adds up after awhile. I used to be a big supporter of deception but after somewhat mastering madness I don't think ill ever spec deception again until the spec is reworked.
  7. No uses in PvP? What are you smoking? One of the main ways I use it is against good players who know how to counter deceptions burst. After your 2 VSs most people with a brain will use their defensive CDs to mitigate your Shock and Discharge. At this point you use low slash to either 1) give you a gap to use those 2 abilities or 2) if they use their cc breaker, electrocute and it guarantee's that those 2 abilities will land. It can also be used as a second interrupt with jolt, that has a low CD. Between jolt, low slash, and electrocute you can give classes with cast timers fits.
  8. Unless by "twirling his glow baton" you're talking about assassinate, you're dealing with a deception/infil. There is no way a tank is hitting you with anything that hard with his saber. Thrash crits are typically in the 1.2k-1.4k range.
  9. Although it is strong dps for a tank build, 300 dps is still a pretty good gap. Before you call me a FOTM player or anything like that, I play madness spec.
  10. This +1000. A spec that encompasses a 31 pt talent is definitely NOT a hybrid just because you're wearing dps gear. Once again, normal people with a functioning brain call them "tanks in dps gear."
  11. Not sure if serious... Were you actually tryin.g to say shadow/sins are op with a screenshot as proof, or were you fully aware that the person highlighted in the SS is actually a SW? EDIT: After rereading your post, I'm fairly certain you are in fact being sarcastic. Although I could still be wrong.
  12. Well, There is Endurance + Power + Surge in Champion Enforcer's Gloves http://www.torhead.com/item/JEa9uU/c...forcers-gloves Enhancement (56) +23 Endurance +34 Power +48 Surge Rating I don't think there are any others that are readily available or in game but you could always itemize with those. I tend to get a bit laxidasical with Crit because I am madness spec and have a passive +3% from my saber charge. I'm also interested to know how or if those will be updated in 1.2, bcause as of right now I haven't found any further information on them. I know that doesn't help your excess surge situation put if you're looking for power enhancements that don't suck, that's as close to it as I've found.
  13. Right, so ideally you would try to get as close to 30% Crit, 75% surge, and 95% accuracy as possible. Everything past that hit DR soft caps, which means the rest of your moddable enhancements should focus primarily on power to optimize dps.
  14. You're so full of **** that its coming out of your ears. The highest "innate," or passive as us normal people with functioning brains call it I've seen was around 33-34% and that was with Crit stacked in full BM gear and a piece of rakata, with Rakata implants/ear piece, and improved lightning charge. Keep posting though, I'm enjoying you make yourself look foolish. One more thing, isn't the surge soft cap 75%? Meaning you're itemized for 2% past(which is quite a bit) when you could be stacking Crit+power mods. I have a hard time believing you're as leet as you say your are when you can't even itemize your gear properly.
  15. Care to explain how you came to that conclusion? Also, could you provide your own with a detailed explanation on how you arrived at the numbers you deem accurate? Those are parsed off of the PTS, BTW. If I were to take a stab at it, ie guess that "your accurate numbers" are coming off of the MMO-mechanics.com(if you even have a parse). If that's the case, I think you should know that the numbers achieved on the simulator from that site were done in base rate columi without min/maxed mods...etc...etc... The numbers they came up with in that setup were 1229 dps for madness and 1110 for deception. A later simulation was done by the same player with min/maxed gear and he came out with 1348 dps as madness. All of the details of these tests can be found with a Google search. Judging by your posting history, I'm not even going to bother explaining things here because it appears you 1) type just to hear yourself talk, and 2) argue incessantly for no other reason than to argue.
  16. There isn't a problem with carrying it over. The OP, and my example is different though. There is nothing wrong with the loser of a competition conceding and shaking hands/gging. The problem arises when a member of the winning team of a lopsided match throws out a gg in general chat. It comes off as condescending even though it may be genuine some of the time. I am a realist, I know you're not going to win every WZ, especially when solo queuing. I tend to let it roll off like rain drops on a tin roof but it doesn't change the fact that I think "what an ******e" before doing so.
  17. When its said between guildies or actual friends, sure. I think the OP was refering more to an opposing player saying GG in general chat after a lop sided game. It's really not that big of a deal but I see how it can be frustrating if you're solo queuing and going through a losing streak. On a related note, cross team chat in WZs is stupid and serves no other purpose than to stir the hornets nest. Some people, myself included at times, can get carried away with the competitive aspect of the game and having this option only serves as a catalyst to a flame war when tempers get heated.
  18. Wait!?! So just because other posters have differing opinions from your own, we haven't played competitive PvP? Or we can't be taken seriously because we aren't as annoyed by cc as you are? Those are pretty bold claims my friend. You also act as if your team doesn't have the same capabilities as the opposing team. I do agree that the resolve system may need some tweaking but after your last comment you're just coming off as a whiner who couldn't use his abilities to their fullest potential like your opponents did. In closing, you have moved from the "meh, he kind of has a point but that type of game sounds fun" to "clownshoes."
  19. LOL, not cynical just realistic. I know that some gg's actually mean good game. But the majority of the time, especially in online video games, its a snide jab at the other team. Most of my guild leadership has gone the route of asking guild members to refrain from saying things like GG at the end of a stomping just so that our guild doesn't get a bad name. Like I said before, its all about context. If its a 5-5 huttball game that comes down to a team getting the ball from the other team with 15 seconds left after killing the carrier and pulling out a narrow victory, then by all means. GG it up. If your ripping the team a new ******e and you throw one out, I don't see how that can be taken any other way than them patronizing the loser. People use sports to try to solidify their stance but I can tell you, I have competed in sports up to college and have been a pro sports spectator for decades and never once did I see someone like Michael Jordan go up to the Mic at the press conference after they beat someone 120-85 and say, "yeah, the other team played a good game." GG's after blowouts should be given to your teammates. Not a badly defeated opponent.
  20. This. It's all about context. 75% of the time I see a gg in this game it comes when I'm solo queuing, in general chat, from a member of the opposite team as a blowout winds down. That clearly is not a sign of respect or humility. I tend to agree with the OP on this one, as its usually some douchenozzle rubbing salt in the wound. I don't really let it bother me, but it does happen, and usually as others in this thread have said. At the tail end of a 6-0, 5 minute long huttball usually consisting of a premade stomping random puggies. The internet and MMOs in particular are NOT known to have a tight knit respectful community, but rather a bunch of entitled brats trying to be cool. Also, am I the only one that finds it ironic that the majority of the posts in this thread talk about respect and good sportsmanship yet they insult the OP in the same swoop for him having a differing opinion? This is exactly why anyone who plays an MMO automatically assumes its said with ill intentions.
  21. I agree and my post was made in jest.
  22. This, pretty much. It appears to have been your standard "well oiled premade vs. a terrible pug."
  23. So you can't find the motivation to log in but you still find motivation to come on the forum with all the other haters and cry babies. That's your problem right there! This is by far the worst, whiniest, self entitled MMO forum crowd I've ever seen. My opinion on the game is a positive one, but then again I'm a realist. The game is young so I don't expect the 7 years of polish like wow or a full weeks worth of end game PvE content. The leveling was by far the best designed and smoothest I've ever played. PvP is getting better as changes are implemented and the future looks bright imo.
