  1. They delayed deployment of the patch due to a bug with debuffs displaying properly on targets. So we are not in 2.0.1 quite yet.
  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, typical AHG matches start with each team sending 8 people out the left door. If you drop 6 guys out the right door, they will get to the pylon around the same time as the other team. Sure, the other team can send people through the tunnel to your left node, but how many do they send? The result, it sounds like to me, would be 2 smaller-scale battles, one at each node, resulting in people getting killed and either leading to a 2-cap scenario, or a more interesting battle at mid. It's certainly risky because it basically opens up a similar Prisoner's Dilemma to what to pick for x-y-z on Alderaan Civil War, but at least it won't be such a rut, eh?
  3. As stated in the other thread about this, the best short-term solution is to make a few adjustments so it is convenient for players to pick up these quests as they need them. There should be a terminal inside every Operation instance that grants the weekly. There should be a terminal on every Makeb mesa that gives you the dailies for that Mesa, etc.
  4. They should also be able to sell ranked comms. Kind of a glaring omission if you ask me. Hopefully they adjust it for 2.0.1's actual release.
  5. In this case, they are one and the same.
  6. Explanation much appreciated. Gotta say this opens the door on requests for features like countdown timers on buffs and being able to tell which debuffs on a target are my own. The ability to choose which buffs are displayed would also be a huge help. Class buffs shouldn't take up 4 icons, it should be 1 at the most, separated into quadrants. On my gunslinger, there are a lot of buffs I would rather switch off, since dropping into cover and doing my opening rotation often gives me a total of like 12 buffs!
  7. Nice attitude. Did it ever occur to you to say "Hey, guys you totally outlevel and out gear me and the healer, can you please hold back on your dps so you don't pull aggro?" Or do you assume that every dps who does behavior you don't like is bad and always will be, forever unteachable?
  8. Foxmob, as long as we are in perma-preseason, why not take a risk and send 6 guys right? If it doesn't work, who cares, it's not like your rating matters.
  9. It's crazy easy to hit your weekly cap on elite comms anyway.
  10. "Shrap bomb/Explosive round is part of my rotation! I cannot do leet dps without it, so I will use it on that darned Hunter Creeper Droid, so he dies real quick and everyone /cheers me. It can't possibly have bad consequences for the cc'ed technicians right next to him, can it?"
  11. ^ This. Off-topic: Astarica, were you gone a while or something? I haven't seen you post in a while. I didn't always agree with your posts, but I always respected the way you approached thinking about the game. Glad you are back.
  12. I guess if you think it's balanced that someone can get the ball and pass it away without even being touched ... Pretty easy for the operative to be stealthed before the door blows up, get past whatever crap the enemy team laid down, combat stealth, and roll on. And then they are much faster than assassins because their move is spammable, and their energy recovers while they are capping. You seem smart, how are you not getting this?

    Operative roll

lol, u mad kid? Afraid someone will take your new toy away? I am not going to list all the things that operatives and assassins can do, because you are so good at the game you know them already. Of course, you are lying and probably a horribad (I really like your sig and avatar by the way) so it won't do any good either way. Maybe expand your head for a second to realize that stealthing to the goal line isn't all that operatives and assassins do in huttball, and you may even mature a couple of years. In the end, you're just another brat. /thread
  14. Again, the issue is not who gets there faster, but how much faster. Typically most of your team was at the acid or better when the Assassin got the ball. Now people are barely dropping off the top catwalk. It's hard to slow someone in stealth. One more time, it's not that someone can break away, but the degree to which and ease with which they break away.
  15. Here is another question for you tanks: How often do you start a pull before important cooldowns (like Saber Reflect, AoE Taunt, etc.) are ready, because you can just sense the impatience of the dps and dont want them to pull first.

    Operative roll

This is not a surprising response coming from someone who is only seeing one side of an argument and has no desire to entertain the other side. Operatives have plenty of advantages compared to Assassins, but you only want to compare the aspects that support your argument. My entire point was that a 6 second, or even a 4 second, cooldown on this obviously broken ability would make it balanced against some of the other utility abilities that other classes have.
  17. Some of guys are missing the point about huttball. It's broken if the operative can get the ball and hand it off to his team's best carrier, then stealth out before the other team can get in range to stun, damage, etc. Assassins never had that advantage.
  18. I was just venting my frustration that this sort of thing doesn't go on nearly enough. PUGs, at least pub side solo-queue on Pot5, seem to just assume that the plan every time is "Do what you feel like, hope it works out." Some players are pretty good and play tight tactics without communication, but it's always reactive instead of proactive.
  19. Equally annoying are the dps heroes who never stop to think "Man, we are wrecking these guys. But we can just keep doing it. No way they would try to take our pylon with coordinated stealth, even though that's the only way they can win. That one schmuck non-stealther we left guarding is enough."

    Operative roll

I did my best to tidy up your immature rant that conveniently ignored a lot of important points.
  21. Screw dual spec, I wouldn't be satisfied with anything less than quad spec. PvE dps, PvP dps, PvE support (tank/heal), PvP support. Good players will respec if they are doing the same role but transitioning between pve and pvp. Right now field respec handles this nicely, but takes up to a minute. My only gripe is that it seems to love putting my abilities in exactly the wrong places on my bars. It's especially frustrating when it happens on my cover bar, because I dont notice until I drop into cover and use Diversion instead of Trickshot
  22. The bolded part assumes you have competent dps And actually it should be 2-4 attacks. I would be embarrassed as a dps if it took me 6 gcds to kill a normal. What the OP fails to grasp is that every gcd is precious in the first few moments of a trash pull. Tanks need to spend them getting all the strongs and elites they can and building threat while the dps deal with the grunts. If a tank runs around whacking normal mobs, there's a good chance a stronger mob will go for the healer.
  23. ^ This. When I'm tanking, I assume the dps will go for the weak mobs (which has resulted in a few frantic pulls at the beginning of instances...) until they show me they dont know to do this. Then I tell them to. When they still don't, I know it will be a long run. But sometimes they figure it out by the end. In these new HM 55s, there are definitely pulls where getting some HoTs rolling on the tank are a big help, but can backfire and send aggro to the healer before the tank can get enough aggro (esp Guardians now that they have no anti-cc ability!). There is one particularly nasty pull in, I think, Mando Raiders, where a crapton of mobs come out a side hallway. Of all the ridiculous over-simplifications in this thread, this one really stuck out. Tanks have to manage threat, but they also manage the bulk of the mechanics, plus a lot of their mitigation comes from being effective with their rotations Actually, this is exactly what healing feels like for me. What am I missing?
  24. Yeah! Screw all those noobs using hyperbole to say spammable roll is OP. Much better to use hyperbole to say its trivial to counter. Unless that 1 thing can win the warzone....moron.
