  1. Yes! I agree. They have more imps, therefore more stuns! They shoudl allocate the number of stuns for action as a whole
  2. I play an assault vanguard and can sympathize with OP. Gunnery commands while having great DPS are quite easy to take down. They can shine against a noob opponents, but with a decent pug (not even a premade), they are priority targets just below healers (infact I detour to take them out before the healers since they are so easy to take out). The very first run into WZ, if I see my health dropping fast then I know it is either a sniper or TM spammer and make sure to handle them every time I get a chance after rez. The fact that they cant really kite (and cannot interrupt a VG) makes it cake. It seems like BW really wants commando's to be healers primarily in pvp(which they are quite good at) and dps in pve. They really should give utility for the commando DPS to be viable. This is going to get ugly with glut of tankasins/juggs/maras come 1.2
  3. ^^ This. I have been playing full assault through out and I have to say that you are very well setup for burst damage (Assault with eliminator set and power adr/battlefocus/relic). That with ST taunt/aoe taunt can do quite a bit of mayhem against the enemies.
  4. While I agree good marauders can take anyone including us, it definitely is not that easy and they have to work for it. If we both start with all cool downs and at range, it can go either way, if they get the jump and we cant kite, then they can usually win, but they will be left with 20% of their health at end (assault spec in BM gear + biochem btw)
  5. /played . I am atm 7 days /played and already at 63 Valor rank. Assault works quite well both for leveling and for PvP. Shield hybrids are fine and is fun using Charge (Tried Parakeet for couple of days, but the burst damage from Assault is needed to take down healers quickly in PvP). IMO vanguards (or trooper in general) are very easy to level. I hardly ever died while leveling as Assault+Elara. I did have biochem for the resusable heals/buffs as well.
  6. I did this in 5 minutes Basically a guild in my server was "selling" this run for 100k credits. They had sages at both the points to pull you up and you just have to go through the barrier/sky bridge thingy (They had me grab a crystal in museum, didn't even know about the other stuff). In fact I read this guide just to see what the hell was going on. All in all very efficient and for someone who does not care about PVE at all, this is awesome! 100k wellspent I say considering I had no use for the credits (Vanguard + Biochem + BM gear = nothing to really spend anything on)
  7. Hiya, Can you post your healing pvp seer keybind setups? I am going to respec my sage to be full healing and am interested in seeing some of the keybinds used by the community. Esp, how do you target friends? Swap the tab and ctrl+tab to select friends on tab instead? Thanks in advance!
  8. assualt + elara = profit. Burns down mobs fast with little downtime. I leveled mine to 50 in 4 days with 50 valor pvp.
  9. Thanks ! That makes sense. So far in sub 50, typically the enemies are not yet in complete control of their toons, so I dont see too many cleanses, but I can see it changing at 50 bracket . I am just surprised that not many are not playing VG in pub side given the awesomeness of this class. I was sick of running around as sage and wanted to play something different stumbled on this and I gotta say that this class is a blast.
  10. With plasma cell and ionized ignition, is there a reason to even use IR? For example, I could go with this rotation <all offensive cooldowns> Assault plastique while closing in ion pulse HIB stockstrike ion pulse <until HIB procs> HIB Assault plastique (by this time the target is toast) FYI: I am only talking about PVP. I am not even trying to any PVE so burst with ammo efficiency is most important . Currently at level 45, it almost feels like god mode in warzones with assault, just the ammo efficiency is the issue and if I can live without IR, I would be set
  11. Thanks for the info. I will go full assault / plasma cell !
  12. Do you guys run with ion or plasma for these rotations?
  13. Thanks! At my current level, I am missing on few of those. currently I do Adrenal, Incendiary, Hib, <close in + pulse canon until I proc a free HIB/SS>, SS The problem is I run out of ammo and I am running around with hammer shot in PvP..
  14. Hi All, Curious on what rotation do you guys use as a full Assault specced Vanguard (or any other spec is good too). I am currently leveling my Vanguard and he is at level 42 and focusing primarly on PvP only. I have a level 50 sage but I find the vanguard way more fun and would want to make this my main and use the sage as a healbot.
  15. yep. I has happened to me to. Even in PvE. None of the instants will fire (so not a interrupt)
  16. I dont think there is any question that sages are good class in zerg conditions or against pugs. Even with crit - 2.5k on each of those against a geared enemy) you can hope to get them down to 60% of their health tops. This is assuming you are able to get your TK wave without getting interrupted. Sorry, but I cant agree that sages can do spike damage. as I said earlier, against group v group, the only viable role I can see for sages is being a healer.
  17. You rotation needs to change. You shouldnt be using TK wave without a proc. Since you are specced in to full Tk, you have to operate as a turret . Your rotation could be Weaken mind -> Turbulence (Auto crit) -> Project -> Mind Crush -> Disturbance (x times)-> (tK Wave if tidal force is proced) and watch out for interrupting their heals or their channelled attacks using your stun/mind snap and keep your bubbles up. You also would need to position near pillars to LOS them. Always refresh weaken mind. But in sub 50s you should do well if you pick you fights well(But the pure TK build shines only if you they let you freecast) So consider getting the CC goodies from hybrid spec
  18. The problem is, jack of all trades will not cut it in a group v group situation. In group conditions, you are going to require specialists who do their job well (i.e, DPS should be able to spike DPS. not just put pressure, Healer should be able to keep up players fast, and tanks should be able operate as meatshields" In a zerg situation, yes, DPS sages do great. Of course this is all assuming guilds/groups will focus on group vs group combat to gain reputation.
  19. As I mentioned earlier 1. I have played Sage to 50 and have valor rank 53. (Consider that this is in republic side, so lots and lots of onesided matches gearing up) 2. I have played pure caster classes (have played rune master in DAOC to RR9) and know the mechanics to play them well The seer sages are fine. They can put out lot of healing and will be a good fit for group vs group fights DPS sages are another matter. In a group vs group situation, All a DPS sage can bring is CC and not a lot of DPS. If you consider a 4v4 match, you would typically go with 1 tank, 1 healer, 2 DPS and all of them provide some amount of CC. I dont see one of the DPS spot being taken by a DPS sage. It is most likely going to 2 melee DPS or may be 1 melee DPS and 1 range DPS. Remember, that you mostly aren't gonna have gear advantage against good group v group fights. If BW allows 8v8, then I can see the sage providing CC and decent DPS, but I just dont see them useful in a 4v4 situation In WZ situation against pugs, sages can do quite well if played right. But people telling "500k damage in WZ" doesnt mean much unfortunately because all it means is lots of AOE/dots and healing and possibly undergeared opposition. Just my 2 cents
  20. As a valor 53 hybrid DPS sage, I have to say that sages are not paper canon and agree with rabits for the most part. You go down to melee very quickly and now it has come to a point that the melee take me out right at the start of the fight. I can CC couple of them but with so many aoe, they will be on to you quickly. Your best bet is to hug pillars and apply pressure with your AOE/dots.. but you are not going to burn anyone down . I used to play runemaster in DAOC and was hoping this will be somewhat similar , but the range is just not there for you to DPS down anyone before they get to you and a lot of melee having gap closers, so it is very hard to kite. Btw, I am talking about playing at level 50 against teams that know what they are doing. I am almost thinking about rolling a trooper who seem to be more durable at 50. Pre 50, yes, sages/sorcs can rule the WZ.. but post 50.. nope. A well played marauder or assassin will eat up a sage everytime..
  21. I am surprised no one said Tharan Cedrax. As a DPS sage, He was easily my best companion once I got him. I couldn't remember a fight that was even close with him around. I turned off his DPS and set him for CC and heals . With holiday and his heals, you can rip through mobs easy. Nadia was way too squishy for me to keep her healed (with only base line heals). I can see she might be good for a seer sage though. EDIT: Just realized the OP is talking about seer. in which case, lizard or nadia is the way I would think.
  22. +1 Also, I do understand the intent of OP. As a fresh 50 (I had purple non expertise gear and I was 44 valor when I hit 50), there is virtually nothing I could do against geared pvp players before getting 3 shot (had about 11000 hits at fresh 50) . I is NOT a l2p thing and in this game with the ability lag, you could even mouse click your rotation (unlike DAOC with your positionals, your reactives etc that you learn after you play your class for a long time). With no change in the way I play, once I got geared up with expertise, I could easily hold my own against those same players. BUT, the way to get your centurion gear is VERY easy, so at least in pvp it is easy to level the field quite fast. So all I can say is, hang on, get to know the nuances of your class and once get some expertise gear, you will be fine!
  23. I levelled as a tk/balance hybrid sage and with Tharan geared with lvl40 pvp gear, I had no problem whatsoever with the boss. I was actually surprised fighting the final boss at level 48 and killed him in one go (considering he had only one kill move it was easy I guess) Simple things to watch for. 1. I found tharen to be the best companion for dps sage. He needs to be geared though. I turned off all his dps stuff and only enabled his CC and healing 2. I always CC the strongs/elites and kill all the trash mobs. If there are multiple strongs, force lift one strong and kill them one at a time 3. Always keep the stun/interrupt/lift (mine is instant) for interrupting the special abilities of boss With your interrupt and holiday you should easily take on any boss.
  24. Yes please.. Make this happen! Tired of sitting on empty server (though it is listed as "Standard"). I dont care about legacy or surname as long as I dont have to go through the story again. And yes it should be free considering I am paying the subscription already.
  25. This! There is no reason to even keybind given the ability lag, graphics lag, GCD. And no. the action is not fast and furious . My runemaster in DAOC had to do lot more to keep up than my sage ever did
