  1. I think this has changed. Leland Chee doesnt have much power within LFL anymore with the Disney Acquisition and the new canon team being put in place. Also the official canon is now "if its not on screen its not canon"
  2. Is that so? "...to become the most powerful Jedi, and the only way you can really do that is to go to the Dark side because the Dark side is more powerful. If you want the ultimate power you really have to go to the stronger side, which is the Dark side..." - George Lucas [AOTC commentary]
  3. You really are looking at this from a jaded point of view.
  4. If you actually did your research youd know the Chosen one Prophecy was written into the original script of ANH. So no, Lucas didnt make that up for the PT. And again, if you did your research youd know what the balance actually was. It was never a balance of numbers. Time for you to do some more reading of the material.
  5. No, if you dont like the G-canon answer given by Lucas through various sources then I cant help you.
  6. It makes perfect sense, your just getting the word "empire" mixed up...Palpatines definition of the word empire is one person to rule entirely which has never happened before.
  7. The Sith are the natural enemy of the Jedi. As George Lucas describes it, the Sith were once in control of the galaxy 1000 years in the past. Unfortunately, the Sith's hunger for conquest got the better of them-so many Sith lords were vying for ultimate control that it led to infighting among their ranks. Such internecine struggles were exploited by the Jedi Knights of the era, and they were able to turn the tide and defeat the Sith. As Ki-Adi-Mundi states in Episode I, the Sith have been extinct for a millenium; however, not all were wiped out. A surviving Sith Lord sought to rebuild the order, to retake the galaxy, and to take revenge. This Sith Lord realized the dangers of having too many in the order, so he kept his existence a secret. It would be a long time coming, but he carefully plotted revenge. There would be only two Sith Lords at a time, a master and an apprentice, working in secret, planting the seeds for their eventual rise. By Episode III, the Sith are ready to reveal themselves. There's no more need for subterfuge, no more need for skulking in the shadows. Darth Sidious, the Sith mastermind, will make good on a 1000-year plot to finally avenge the fallen order, destroy the Jedi Knights, and retake command of the galaxy. --Star Wars Insider, issue 78; page 60 "The Sith are the archenemies of the Jedi," George Lucas explained, "and for a long time, they ruled the universe until the Jedi came along and got rid of them. The Sith characters in the previous Star Wars films were Darth Vader and the other apprentices-Darth Maul from Episode I and Count Dooku, or Darth Tyrannus, from Episode II and the soon-to-be released Episode III. The evil master Sith in all of the films is Darth Sidious, who becomes Emperor of the universe." --George Lucas, Star Wars Insider, issue 78; page 80
  8. What are you getting at with this? It was confirmed Darth Ruins empire did infact have rule over the entire galaxy by Lucas.
  9. Youll love this too then. Fresh (within the day) of posting. Victor Barnabé ‏@VictorBarnab 3h @infinata I think it's too unclear, people don't seem to understand the fact that the films or TCW or Rebels are not like the rest of the EU Pablo Hidalgo ‏@infinata @VictorBarnab we try! Some just don't want to hear it. Canon is only what's on the screen - Episodes I-VI, TCW and what's to come. Its pretty clear whats going to happen to Post-ROTJ EU, thank god. What does this make of EU before EP1? Who knows
  10. This gives me hope. As soon as I heard Jedi Kota being alive up until the point of Battle of Yavin and most likely after it....It got ridiculous. There are points in the overall story in which the EU should not mesh in with the movies. ESPECIALLY when there are other jedi around during the OT period. I hope all of the TFU story is cast out into oblivion and with the release of EP7 the new EU will be under a lot stricter rules and far shorter leash. Thank god this is actually happening. http://lightsaberrattling.com/binding-the-galaxy-together-a-look-at-the-lucasfilm-story-group/
  11. Played for 2 days on the weekend and got bored of going through the same quests for the 10th time. Im at that point now where Double XP is not enough for me to do the same thing over and over.
  12. Thats irrelevant considering coming from good old lucas mouth that OT Vader/Obi-wan/Luke dont know how to use a lightsaber properly.
  13. Lets be real here, if we compare the duels from the OT to the PT...I really do think that ROTS Anakin/Vader wipes the floor with OT Vader. It falls into line with everything Lucas says. Im sure your canonical sources are just from the EU...As we all know, Lucas words > EU
  14. He doesnt kill you, he even tells you before that your not going to die but knocked out.
  15. No he isnt. Lucas says it himself in the behind the scenes of the Phantom Menace that Vader was a better duelist in the PT due to not being a "crippled half droid half man". He alludes to the fact that OT Vader,Obi-wan and Luke all suck with a lightsaber. Which makes perfect sense when you compared the OT duels to the PT.
  16. Uhhh....You do know you the maelstrom prison happens first in the timeline then you get lord scourge way later right...According to the timeline Revan wouldve been dead/defeated anyway before you got Scourge. There wasnt any missed opportunities with this at all. It would have made absolutely no sense unless they used to delorean.
  17. Ive watched the commentary and I disagree.
  18. Im assuming you have never actually watched the ROTS DVD with the commentary on because he said Windu Overpowered Sidious in the beginning of the lightsaber duel, not at the end. Please actually watch the scene with the commentary on before making that sort of claim.
  19. Im pretty sure the word "overpower" is a pretty big detail. Not anywhere did they stalemate as the other guy claimed. Thats the whole point of what im saying.
  20. It didnt look like that to me, even Lucas says Windu was overpowering Sidious from the beginning of lightsaber duel.
  21. I dont ever remember it ever stating that Sidious and Mace stalemated, did you?
  22. Heres what you state: "Regarding Yoda and Windu, your right the outcome of those duels is personal opinion. However the notion that Windu and Sidious stalemated and the notion that Windu would have been overwhelmed by Sidious lightining are canonical facts according to the ROTS novelization and therefore very relevant - especially as they do not contradict but in fact support the depiction of events in the movie itself." Lucas says that Mace legitimately wins the duel, and further clarifies in the Making of ROTS that Sidious was pretty close to having his face melted off which is the reason he had to stop with the force lightning. The novels pretty much make it out to be like Sidous beats Windu whenever he wants, this isnt the case. Like I said, the novels contradict the final cut of the film.
  23. Did i say we invalidate the entire novel? No. Anakin wasnt watching the entire fight in the movies, he did in the novel. He saw kit fisto struck down and didnt bother to help. "As he arrived, he witnessed the epic battle between Kit Fisto, Mace Windu, and Sidious by hovering his speeder outside Palpatine's office window. He could not yet determine who the combatants were, seeing only their lightsabers. Kit Fisto was decapitated shortly after Skywalker caught sight of the duel. When his green blade flickered out, Skywalker smashed the window to Palpatine's private office and leaped through. There, he found the dead body of Kolar and the heads of Saesee Tiin and Kit Fisto (who was also only slashed in the movie). Anakin was able to watch the epic lightsaber duel between Windu and Sidious for some time, instead of arriving just in time when the Jedi knocked down Sidious in the movie." Theres a reason why the scene in the movies is almost completely different from the novel, the script was changed. When the novel completely contradicts the scene IN the movies, Movies > Novel.
  24. The novel version of the windu vs sidious fight wasnt updated when Lucas changed the script. It says in the novel Windu cut Sidious lightsaber in half, which is impossible because it states outright that his blade is impervious to lightsaber damage due to phrikalloy. Anakin wasnt watching the entire fight in the movies, he did in the novel. He saw kit fisto struck down and didnt bother to help. Mace kicked it in the movie version and disarmed him. When there is contradictions between the novels and films. The films trump the novel.
  25. its pretty simple, the post-rotj eu will be put into an alternate universe or scrapped similar to what happened with the EU when EP1 came out. Theres no way in hell they are going to try and fit most of the material in. See this video:
