  1. Just for the record (and since this was the top hit on google but does not contain the complete answer), the equipment vendors for republic level 55 gear on Rishi are between the main drag and the class/crew skill trainers not too far west of the imperial vendors.
  2. Just rejoined the game as a subscriber after having un-subbed when it went f2p ~3 years ago. I honestly didn't think the game would survive that, and tbh there are aspects of the game that I still dislike and the basic content is still similar to that I enjoyed 3 years ago across all 8 characters in my legacy, but without much class specific content 50+ ... yet. Back to the matter at hand, I'm in the same boat at the OP, finding that XP pushes me too quickly beyond content before I've had opportunity to play. I play the game to see it all and certainly don't consider it a race. and the same goes for any MMO. In World of Warcraft at least I could stop experience gain while enjoying the content, at least in the (at any time) current expansion with there's still players willing and able in group finder and such. This has always been the problem with heirloom gear in that game, where XP would attract another +50-60% xp, but at least there was always an option to control that - which I've often used - and level at the pace I felt most comfortable with. As others have said, I surely realise I'm in the minority, but I'd certainly support a feature which put me back in control of how fast xp is gained for my characters. The desire to gain xp as fast as possible is not universal.
  3. Actually Rift has it now and that game is only coming up to being a year old. And yes, load times can be horrible on new/updated areas but mainly with "screen lag" and certainly not in the minutes. In fact, Rift never had any of the load time problems that SWTOR has. Apart from the initial game load, transit between "zones" is pretty seamless. I've been hating the loading screens between planets in this game since I started playing it, and to be honest I think it is an area that needs some major improvement.
  4. Seriously, pretty much any of them. I have completed Jedi Consular, Jedi Knight and Smuggler on the Republic side (currently working on Trooper) and enjoyed each of the story lines all immensely. On the Empire side I have completed Sith Inquisitor only and was a little disappointed both in the story line and finding it overall a hell of a lot easier than Jedi Consular; hardly a challenge in fact. I'm hoping that when I get around to it I don't have the same experience with Sith Warrior vs. Jedi Knight (JK being by far the most difficult and frustrating - and thus rewarding - class mission I have done. All of the others are very easy by comparison). While Bounty Hunter seems pretty fun and all (recently finished chapter 1), I'm currently having a blast with Imperial Agent where the story line is the most fun I've had since I started playing this game. The class itself provides some unique opportunities for intrigue and surprise and the story tellers have yet to disappoint and I'm not far into chapter 2 as it is.
  5. Hint: World boss areas are "heroic" and he has a big path. PS: Republic Taris is a completely different zone from Imperial Taris. Same map (well, mostly) completely different contents and mobs, not to mention the difference of ~15 levels.
  6. They did announce when the Oceanic servers came online that transfers will be available, and the expected date. That should have been a huge clue as to when you would need to check on progress.... ? I expect by now that you've contacted customer support instead of just heading here and knee-jerk complaining? By all means, come back and ***** if they don't respond or tell you no, but I doubt that either of those things will happen.
  7. Jedi Sage level 50, full healing spec. This fight was so LOL after I read this thread. This was after half a dozen very frustrating attempts where heals on my companion or myself had zero effect and my companion (Felix) naturally kept dying. So I read this thread - went back in after zoning out, got out my dps companion (zenith) who was there really just for giggles - he has mostly orange/mod gear to around level 42 or so only. He died pretty fast, but i just LOSed Arho around a pillar, peeked out and dotted him to death. Took around 1.5 mins. He ran after me when he finished each aoe, but i ducked back in when he started casting again. Only one of his debuffs stayed for any length of time. Very easy.
  8. To be precise, you receive the Captain title when you complete "Return to Duty" and receive the subsequent mission "Recruitment Drive", all of which are a few missions after you are awarded the position "effective immediately".
  9. I had the same problem, abandoned the quest and got the item when I accepted the mission again. When I originally got the mission, I had another scanner from a different quest from further south in the zone that I had not yet handed in - identical graphic but different name. Not sure if that is related, but I certainly didn't have the scanner the first time around or it has been removed at some point in between probably by turning in the other mission (guess).
