  1. Always amazing. You can have a different opinion on the internet and the backlash is always real. A) I spent about 6 hours doing just the one on Taris, never found it. B) I am fine with time consuming, I understand its a throwback quest (There is a reason i mentioned Archaeology from WoW and if finding 47 was the same in KotOR, that's a cool, I never played KotOR because i was not big into RPG's at that time) C) Alot of people spoke with said very similar things,"It took me 4 hours to find this piece," "You think the taris piece is bad? Wait till you get to hoth," Took me a few days to complete." When you basically survey about 50 people and get all the same answer it's fair to estimate about how long it should take. When i looked it up, it seemed like everyone who found the Hide and Go seek pieces fast did it when he was newer. Where, when one person found it, theoretically found it.. So, if i judge everything based on what i have heard and what i have read, When the quest was the thing to do, it was infinitely easier to do because of saturation of player. Now over a year later, where there is not that saturation, the quest can take exponentially longer. TL;DR) I feel alot of you don't understand how the quest was versus how the quest is currently and that I feel as though the quest needs an overhaul of some kind. Whether you agree or not, i care little. To those of you who have given me backhanded assistance: thanks, i'll use your tips to hopefully finish the quest or just abandon it all together.
  2. This quest needs an overhaul. Bad.
  3. You want a companion suggestion? Fix the HK companion quest line so it doesnt take a ridiculously LONG time to finish
  4. I came back after a long hiatus and decided i was going to do the quest to get the hk-47 companion. I had never done it before. So i did some research. The quest is effectively a very poor knock off of how World of Warcraft has Archaeology. Except, in Archaeology you actually have a set space where you can look for artifacts and when you put your surveying tools down, it tells you how close you are to finding the item. In the HK quest you go to an area which has graciously loose borders with no real definition and you place an item that scans only 25 meters of the area. According to other players, it's taken people days, if not weeks just to find one of the pieces. It's no wonder several of them told me they only have him on one character. Some also told me that it isn't worth it in the first place. Ok, so you can find the items for those in the area too, that's nice. However it's been about a year since the quest was implemented. Anyone who wanted him, has him or has given up wanting him. How is this quest fair to your player base at all? it really isn't. This quest needs an overhaul. Bad.
  5. Lets discuss something unrelated to 1.2 I will be the first to admit that nostalgia is a big part of me. I do a lot of things solely on that feeling. So i was curious (and a bit late to the party) and looked up the voice cast for the game. So this thread will serve as a distraction by asking you: What nestalgic characters surround you? As every loyal person does to their OC i looked up my main first (BH). and i gotta say, he's surrounded by too much awsome. TOO MUCH! Torian: Johnny young bosche AKA The second black power ranger. Blizz: He's a damn jawa. Love these lil guys, they remind me of Black mages ans Vice versa. Gault: Cosmo from fairy odd parents. Loved watchin this show with my lil brother. Skadge: though he's new (and promptly taken from us ;-; ) Tychus Findley. He's a winner. NGL So as i move down the list and I get to my Soldier. My soldier is named Hightower. Yes. That Hightower. Token Big bad *** black guy right. He's always my tank character in any game i play. Well ... He's voiced by the same dude who voices Steve Rogers in the recent avengers cartoon series. Too fitting if you ask me. He is also Yuri in MW3. Matt Horner in Starcraft 2. The list goes on, but I actually would like to see if other people have the same kinda thing show up for them.
  6. it is interesting. Not new, but interesting. And true. In my own observation i noticed that i liked the PS3 Version of DCUO more than the PC version just because it felt more like an action game than an mmo. I am hoping GW2 breaks the mmo mold like a boss. (im not in the beta =( )
  7. I do the same thing. And I agree. Let us all try and be a smarter community. Let us try really hard and give well thought out and feedback in which the company can fix their game instead of being moronic sheep and go "this game is BAAAAAHD! lol i quit" or "/rageuit". (sorry, pun was necessary)
  8. I gotta love how when someone who puts forth the effort to do the right thing and actually talk to the company of which they are displeased with in a civilized manner instead of threatening them with loss of business, that person gets ridiculed by the rest of the community and flooded by the morons who are quick to blindly jump to it's defense unnecessarily. The op is not attacking the game like everyone else. He is stating that "you screwed up, here are some things you can do to fix it" like a calm and collected and responsible consumer of a product. So in the immortal words of that famous bumper sticker, get off his ***. In regards to the subject matter. Yes, I will say that 1.2 came too soon. There is a difference between Soon as in a time frame and Soon as in it is not yet it's time. 1.2 was not finished and should not have been pushed out like it was. It was vastly incomplete and what they are doing airs on the side of the EA business practices, which as the community is so vocal about, are very poor (and iIagree). 1.2 was implied so heavily to have a lengthy and very intricate role play mechanic to get a robust upgrade. Instead it was given a half *** implemented system 1.5 update with a "to be continued" attached to it. This was a very poor decision. If Bioware continues this kind of business practice they can see a lot more loss of money. That is not a threat. It is the truth. And out of everything that I love of the game and the Universe i would rather see it grow and be amazing like World of Warcraft was/is to some people. I do NOT want Star Wars: The Old Republic to become another Warhammer: Age of Reckoning (will never forgive EA and mythic for what they have done to WAR. So disapointing.) Sorry for the TL;DR. Here is a summary: A) Get off the op's *** and let him do the responsible thing in the correct formula. B) Requisition some consumer ethics. If more of the community has them, it takes power away from the company's who think they can do whatever the hell they want and forces them to actually have business ethics. C) Learn to see the others perspective and understand that the internet is not just about you. -bearhammer
  9. Though all the Main hands require the Main hand Construction kit to purchase, You can only purchase a Main hand of the character type that got the kit. i.e. BH can only by BH.
  10. So i got the main hand construction kit or what have you and when i go to redeem it i can not buy the Smuggler Blaster pistol with it. I can only purchase the BH (who got the token and does not need it) main hand. Is this correct? Or am i missing an important piece of info?
