  1. Well I loved SWG, it gave me some of the best moments I've had playing online. It also gave me the worst ones, I only had 1 holocron to unlock and three professions to master when they changed the system (not the NGE, the "spend your points here in this stupid village" system). I loved the crafting and I definitely would love to see something similar here, but I know is not going to happen. Why? Because one of the SWG bases was that you "changed the wolrd"; a player city here, a moisture farm there. I think they should try to improve the system so is really useful and it becomes funnier. SW:TOR has a lot of things to do, but the base is solid enough to receive some good updates (player housing? Instanced buildings, kind of what you have in Puzzle Pirates) But, let's wait first until they finish the fixes... we'll worry about updates after.
  2. Have you ever seen how much Tesla criticized some of Edison work? Then, by your standards, Tesla wasn't an innovator? Errr.. wrong. Complains and destructive criticism are as valid "weapons" as constructive criticism. You might not like, but it is still the truth.
  3. Mmmh, how old do you think I am? Cause I'm 32 and I had a computer nearby since I was 6 (oh that Amstrad CPC 464 :'D ) Ok, I didn't have the BBS but believe when I say I would love to. Back on topic: ^^^^^^^^^ THIS!! edit:typos
  4. When you are chatting with someone through skype and, suddenly, press space :S
  5. Yet another paid review where they tell us "is ok to pay for an unfinished product, you shouldnñt even expect everything worked the day of release! " Next thing before we know it they will try to convince us "is ok to allow the prima noite, he is your governor after all... we all have to make sacrifices" ¬¬U P.S. Exaggerated in purpose!
  6. /signed Wasn-t this supposed to be MY story? Then, why in seven hells do I have to suffer Kem Val (or whatever his name is) for ever? I wanna get rid of him, I wanna throw him through the airlock or carbonize it. For more reasons why we should be able please read the best rant ever (includes spoilers) P.S. I would enable that and charge people who wants to rez them or who wants a legacy name change. And I don-t mean 20$, soemthing hard like 150$ for rezzing a companion and 300$ to change the legacy name. That way people will learn (or not.. )
  7. Well O?, have fun your way and get richer and richer. Not everyone is sick enough to spend that many time in the AH, for me it works perfectly, I do a planet and once I finish it go the tleet and put everything to sell in a few clicks. If you want to buy all my items, please do, but that's your sicknes not mine. Mine is a different one, like grinding or exploring or just having as many alts as I can. Am I telling you how to play the game? Then stop telling me how should I play it. But what really p**ses me off is the fact that you consider yourself better by doing this, I mean honestly, haven't you check the world lately? Is behaviour like yours that made the last years a nightmare for a lot of people. Yeah this is only a game, but his arrogance was too much...
  8. Not that one, but I got kicked from the turret WZ too many times because the bike wasn't loaded so I couldn't click it. That's when I stopped trying to PvP at all...
  9. Thank you for this!! Oh! How I needed some laughs!
  10. I disagree. The typical MMO player (from what I've seen) will be perfectly happy to wait until the game is finished. That same person will try to be part of the development phase, getting into alphas and betas; some want to see the game, some want to try it, some want to help. The good majority, the ones that will keep coming, are the ones that are ok to wait; the ones that want to be in the beta to know the game so they can rush to end-game later are the ones that are destroying this games. In the end, the decission is money driven. I understand the process and I cannot imagine how much money is needed (only thinking about the infrastructure makes me tremble). Well, I wanted to give an example that non-IT people could understand. As a network administrator and ex-programmer I kind of imagine how big the whole system is, I even had a WoW and RO private servers to understand more the system and, let me tell you, is quite difficult and expensive. But the problem still remains, we are given unfinished products, paying for them and involving as much as we can in the process; what do we get in return? Bad (almost unexistent) customer service and the feeling that they are ignoring us. I would pay to see my programming and system teachers telling them a few things
  11. Here I disagree. In fact that's why I left the "programming world", grew tired of some marketing/salesman agreeing with the client with impossible dates and sentences like "this is only a button!" when that "button" changed the behaviour of the whole app. If someone is at fault is the project managers, who don't defend their product and people as they should. Again, they don't care. Is all about money, not being proud of their product; and I know some people who did an amazing job and refuse to put that on their CV because, in the end, it sucked due to marketing decissions.
  12. Well my father did and I didn't end that bad ^_^ They can also develop a strong personality and learn to never give up, always continue going forward no matter what. They can also learn that there's always space for improvement. Just saying
  13. My standard is Ragnarok Online (I thought it was obvious). I've seen some bugs in it, specially when they added new classes (Tae Kwon were a pain at first) but there are bugs that feel like small mosquitoes and others that make you feel Ungoliant is going after you. I'm not going to keep comparing TOR with WoW, that is the mistake we've all been doing; I will compare it to other games I enjoyed (and still do). edit:typos
  14. That's what I'm saying!! Windows ME (and Vista) were so outrageous it wasn't even funny, I don't know about Apple because I never had and never will have a Macintosh computer product. When did we start letting them rip us off? Because, honestly, when I was studying IT if any of my programs was buggy my teacher would laugh and make jokes about it, and if it was as messy as some things I've seen he would have shouted at me and make feel embarrased. And people still defend them! ><U
  15. Take a few (ok, maybe more than a few) steps back. I compared two products. Change the car for a tablet, an operative system, whatever works for you; delivering an unfinished product is fraud, no matter how you look at it. But I'm glad at least it made you laugh ^_^
  16. Where did I say that? In fact, me and some friends are still working on it, but I don't think it will be around anytime soon, why? Because is unfinished!!
  17. So, As many of you, I've been playing MMOs for 12+ years. Some of you started with EQ, others with UO, I myself started with LoM (legend of mir) and tried UO afterwards. Among all these years I've grinded like a madman and I can give examples that would make you think I should be in a mental institution, will leave that for another day; but the important thing is how all those games were. Let's ignore WoW and others and take a look to the ONLY game that still today I play when everything else bores me, Ragnarok Online. RO is damn hard to get to max level, I think I only managed to do that on private (pirated) servers with the drop and xp modified (x5, x10 and so on); on the official servers I think I made it to 92 (cap level currently is 100, then you reborn and go til 150 iirc). What did I learn here? That "end game" is a mistake, but that wasn't the point of this post. The really important thing that I think all those games we loved had was, they were ready. There were bugs, of course there were bugs! But a game at launch with so many issues? That wasn't even considered before SWG (pre-NGE). So, how come now "is ok" if a game has a lot of issues at launch? Imagine you want a new car, yours is already old and you think it'll be "fun" to get a new one; then you see this add, talking wonders about this new car that will come out in a few months. You start drooling, your behaviour changes to that of a 6 year old (i wanna!! i wanna!! i wanna!! i wanna!!) and life becomes difficult until THE day, the day when they tell you that you can go and pick up your new car. On your journey home, your going by the highway feeling it; the car is smooth, the smell is fantastic but... there's something wrong with the engine, you cannot go faster than 80 km/h no matter what you do. The moment you get home you call them and no one picks the phone, you're being redirected to a voice mail. You check online and discover you're not alone in these, a lot of people is suffering the same issues, but some fanboy tells you "well, is a new and modern car, they are probably still working with some software related issues that can affect the engine" I think you all see where I'm going here. When did this started? When did we decide "it was ok" to pay for an unfinished product? Sorry but that's just horrible. I work in IT, and have worked as a programmer for years (yes, half the MMO population works in IT related works because... is what we do! is what we love!), I can only imagine the screams if I ever delivered an unfinished product and ask the world to pay for it. "Is a new game" is not an excuse, is the wrong way to look at things.
  18. This is just an example of poor decission. Would anyone scream if today patch was to fix that? NO! We would be partying and celebrating! Instead they fix Ilum, again. They have to check their priorities... honestly.
  19. /signed But in my case I will still be paying because I need to know the stories! The grinding doesn't bother me much (if only you knew what I've grinded in my life... this game is nothing) but the bugs and the unexistent CS do. Still, I have to continue and learn the stories, but I'm going back and forth between characters because the whole game is boring, and there's no much to do. Farewell and may the Force be with you.
  20. This is what I bought one month ago: AMD Phenom II X2 560 (3.30 GHz, 7MB Cache) 4GB Corsair DDR3 Memory ASUS AMD 890FX AM3 Motherboard Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATAIII 6Gb/s 16MB Cache Sapphire HD 5850 1GB Toxic GDDR5 PCIE Graphics Card All from Amazon.uk, less than £600. Although, you might wanna change the Ati (Sapphire) for an Nvidia. BW still has issues with Ati cards (horrible lag when there is a lot of people around)
  21. Sorry BW but you got it all wrong. Either you start balancing schedules in order to not bother europeans that much or players will start (continue) leaving. It feels like we're second rate players for you, and I personally don't like it; we all pay the same amount of money. Well no, we pay more cause is in euros and 13$ < 13€. So, we're paying more monthly and are being treated 2nd rate. Yeah briliant ¬¬U
  22. Someone who understood my point! Thank you!
  23. Almost all the games I've played had some kind of corpse running, except SWG... then you would appear on the clinical center (ouch!) The thing is, this game HAS the probe and the medical. I just think the times should be different if you've been killed by a person instead of by a mob.
  24. I love trolls! They comment without even understanding, they just vomit whatever goes through their brains. I'm complaining about the times, THE TIMES. The part where I said I didn't care if they killed me? Nah, you didn't read that; you read two lines, grinned and start trolling. P.S. Yeah, I know, don't feed them. I just can't keep it quiet...
  25. Every step I do I found some horrible, painful things. I'm trying to do the last Czerka quest in Tatooine (empire) and I've been killed a few times already by a couple of republic guys. That, doesn't worry me. Even the fact that I'm 29 and they are 35 and 37, uooo big deal! You can kill me between the two of you! Congratulations, do you wanna a medal? Whatever... the main problem is the respawn time. I'm almost in front of the instance door and I'm gonna run for it but the times are just awful. First death - 10 seconds (ok) Second death (a few minutes later) - 2 minutes (mmmh... let's say ok) Third death (10+ minutes later) - 10 minutes NO. I don't know who was the f****n genius but this is plain stupid. 10 minutes to respawn with the probe? Really? "You can always respawn on onlygodknowshowfrigginfar" Did I say I'm almost at the door? I could understand those times if I was killed by mobs, well no but let's say I could. But, on planet PvP? Are you friggin nuts? Honestly, I'm beginning to get angry with this poor decissions; it looks like the guy/lady who took them has never played, ever.
