  1. The tactical Throwing Arm is not applying the Obfuscate debuff as it says in the description. I have the tactical on my Jugg. I logged in my Marauder and placed the debuff on the WZ training dummy and it worked fine. Debuff showed up. But when I used my ability on my Jugg on same dummy, the buff never showed up. The Sunder showed up but not the Obfuscate.
  2. LoL, that’s not how expertise worked, it had nothing to do with stun resistance and if you didn’t have pvp gear, you could wear 190 pve gear and the system would bolster your stats AND give you full expertise.

The only people who did not get expertise bolster on non pvp gear were those who thought their epic pve gear, that had much better stats than pve gear, would give them an advanatage in pvp. Which it didn’t, it actually made it worse for them.

Considering you could buy all the 190 pve Mods, armor, enhancements and hilts/barrels from the armor vendor for less than 30k, there was no reason for anyone not to have full expertise in pvp.

The problem as I explained in my post earlier, was Bioware never explained how Bolster ie expertise worked. You needed to come to the forums and read a sticky thread that community members made through testing it. Those breads were really helpful and explained how to do it.

The other problem is people wouldn’t listen to us trying to help them in the game. We would see people in the game in epic pve gear and try and explain it, but they were so arogent or just dumb, that they wouldn’t listened and would often tell us to F-off

    ^^ +10. This ^^

  3. This could easily be implemented. I hope it happens. The current bolster is better then ever. Make the new pvp gear coin system easily attainable for gear to keep PVE players interested. PvP players honestly don’t care that much about others having almost the same level of gear, it is more theory crAfting that makes it more interesting for different roles. Lots like having alts as well to learn other crafts to counter act their plays. As far as augments are concerned, probably need to make those cheaper or make Augments have expertise as well. That way you have a clear separation of church and state and the pve guys can keep their raiding gear without having to complain about gear cost. Make the pvp augments super easy to obtain or craft.
  4. Already unsubscribed. ....... I'll keep an eye out on the forums as I do every day but I'm not paying for 5.0. RNG=fail for pvpers. They had a really great thing going. I just can't fathom why devs would go backwards in progression. I wish they would just do away with all gear for pvp wzs. I have no problems PVE grinding for open world pvp if I want to but no gear in wzs is better than freaking a RNG.
  5. PVE'ing gets you PVP gear faster...... Fact.

Ranked is for players that should be "end game PVP" not "I'm just here to gear". Now I'm forced to play with people who know F'all about pvping who only "que" ranked for gear. Yes I understand there is a Valor requirement but that has not been communicated. 70? maybe/hopefully? Just means my alts suffer now because they will have to grind Valor and CPX with a RNG.... = ALT KILLER. You just lost a lot of cartel/coin spendage on character perks.

Ranked is ONLY arenas..... I and many people like me HATE arenas............ HATE... and we hate PVE repetition. Objective based team play is where it is at. Always has been. I would inject here that NOW is the time to make Objective based ranked play (8s). <--------- would be cool as hell. The way it stands now I would have to do ranked just to play regs.... It should be the other way around. (or pve.... I just verped).

I am here, like many other PVPers, for story and pvp only. Doing the same battles and computer AI mobs is a horrible repetition sleep fest.

RNG is FAIL... utter total complete fail. Especially for the three disciplines for each class.

This patch is fail. I'll enjoy while my sub runs out but I alt pvp a lot and the things I mentioned above essentially Micky Mouse PVErs.

What is really fail are people thinking they can "jump in" anytime to pvp WITHOUT having two sets of gear. You are kidding youselves. Accuracy is fail in pvp....

  6. I'm a subscriber and I have leveled all 16 advanced classes and pvp on all of them regularly. This doesn't cater to me.

Expertise is what prevents raiders who farm the highest level gear, from walking into PVP and wrecking everyone despite skill.

Bolster, while imperfect, was the means for PVE players to enter into PVP and be competitive... and it was one of the better systems out there.

    This... +10.

  7. Just read more info on the topic. I'm sorry but for the first time in almost a full 5 years to the day I've unsubbed. GL guys. I'll pop back in after 6 months or so to see how it pans out (hopefully for the better) but I'm not gambling with real money in any hopes whatsoever that the DEV team here cares about PVP. I will miss it for sure (current system) but I'm not paying to stick around. 13 days left to play so I'll enjoy it while it lasts on The Cov...
  8. Yes, you can still get PvP gear by doing PvP.

But it's going to be way faster to do a HM or NiM ops to get the best gear than spamming PvP all the time. Ranked right now barely even pops anymore and, at least on my server, it pops because people get together and start advertising they're queing, that still only happens like once a week.

So hardcore PvPers, without a reliable amout of ranked pops, will be forced to do regs to get the best gear and, assuming by logic, that will take much, much longer than the people who do HM or NiM raids.

And let's imagine that ranked will pop fairly often. With how the matchmaking system worked in previous seasons regarding ELO (People with high ratings will get teamed together and go against those with lower rating. It happened a lot of times to me.) People with the higher gear will likely end up in the same team and go against those with lower gear. It's just going to be frustrating all around.

At least someone gets what the hell I am talking about. I know I am probably in a small minority of players who only pvp but still wanted my voice, however tiny, to be heard. The system in place really was the best I've seen around to encourage pvp. Not only for new folks, but for pvp lovers who like to have alts. I guess the game really has run its course and the devs really are out of touch with what the players (see gen chat) want. It is like congressman who retire go to work for EA/BW as developers.

  9. I'm not sticking around to see how easy it is to get gear because there is no PVP gear anymore. Ok so you can buy crafted gear. What fleet level do I have to be to wear it? So now I have to do PVE dailies or craft myself to earn enough come to buy said gear because sure as heck it will be bloody expensive as all crafted top gear has been. No throw in the utterly ridiculous lack of coms earned from PVPing. I am not going to play more matches over a longer period of time because I don't PVE.
  10. Yeah.... sorry for the dissertation but I just want them to know just how serious the situation is. Well, at least for me anyway. 5 years playing a game and staying subbed is a long time.

I really can't help think this is similar to what the NGE was that Sony implemented for SWG and folks left in droves.

I'm sure they will see a spike in subs as the timing of the new SW film comes out but they more than likely won't last considering they are actually going backwards on MMO development in stead of being innovative.

  11. Sorry BW/EA,

I am afraid that if this new gearing system goes live, I will leave the game. Here is the standard (for real) been playing since launch comment. I have been playing since launch, I read through the forums most days of the week and follow closely changes to the game. I dabble in the odd H2 solo just waiting for a WZ to pop but that is about it. I used to do some raiding. I used to do LOADS of dailies for the faction (this got massively boring). The only thrill that has kept me coming back was PVP.

I play usually a couple hours at night (family and work dependant) and don't really have much time for anything else. Sometimes I can manage 30mins of play, others 3hrs of play. Either case, all I want to do is PVP despite a deplorable game engine (GTX 970FTW 100+FPS full settings in fleet--------30-40fps in WZs), pretty much 0 open world pvp minus the Gree Event, and obvious class imbalances.

Family and work come first and I fit gaming in where I can. The current gearing system is by far the best system I have ever seen in any MMO/game (been playing loads and constant games since early EQ). The amount of time that it currently takes to get coms for gear is perfect. It allows us to focus on the pvp aspect and give us enough coms to gear an alt and try other things and play more aspects (toons) of the game. Bolster, however people think right wrong or indifferent, worked and gave people the opportunity to join in with no expertise gear needed and still be competitive. Where it failed miserably is with Devs/Producers/Managers NOT communicating HOW THE DOG GONE SYSTEM WORKS IN ANY FORM OR FASHION. All you had to do was tell (officially and not rely on players) everyone that PVEs, hey..... wear green mods and implants below this level (insert lvl here) and you will have pretty much MAX bolster minus the main/off hands. So easy to get this gear............. Put it in the help icon.

The bolster system took a LONG time for you to clear out and even then it still a little iffy in application but theory it is brilliant. POOR communication skills has caused this failure in PVP attendance among other things. And now, you want to remove Expertise from the game and allow people who basically live online, do dailies and raid and get biz gear for PVP? So, a player who only plays a couple hours a day and does nothing but PVP is to get owned because he or she can't stand raiding and doesn't have hours at a time to commit to rinse and repeat quests? I remember doing the daily cycles. I also remember literally falling asleep at my keyboard towards the end of doing them. And that is when I discovered PVP. Beautiful wonderful PVP. Where the map is the same but the content is always different. No programed mobs, just skill.

Yes I went rambling on but I guess this that important to me that you listen. I will not stay in this game any longer if I am forced to do PVE things to get Biz PVP gear. And, I will not allow myself to have to grind 2 or 3 times longer in PVP with a gear disadvantage with a RNG deciding my fate if I don't PVE.

I love Star Wars, story, lore, whole concept and yes despite some crazy changes you Devs/Producers have come up with in the past that have almost pushed me away, I have still stayed. You are littery going back to the stone age of MMOs if you implement this change and I refuse to pay or waist my time for this or a RNG.

  12. I play on and off here and there because of work but last few days on Covenant it seems like 2/3+ people playing in WZ are Arsenal? Did I miss a FOTM swap. I've pretty always been a vengeance/vigi guy and always will be but dam. That was a quick FOTM swap.
  13. 308 bad.........I hope this helps. Here is what I did. I am running:

    Windows 10

    No Bitraider client

    1. Go to your SWTOR folder where your launcher is located.

    2. Look for the SWTOR symbol icon that just says launcher... not launcherdiag or launcherRestartMsg

    3. Right click on the icon and select properties

    4. Click on the compatibility tab

    5. Check on the bottom the Run this program as an administrator (ensuring that is checked)

    6. Hit apply

    7. Now look up at the small letter swtor folder. Open it and then select the retailclient folder

    8. look for the swtor icon and then follow steps 3-6 (again making sure it is selected when you hit apply)

    9. Open your task manager and ensure all instances of SWTOR have been closed out.

    10. Restart your comp.. click on the launcher.. it should work. did with me.

  14. I do NOT want this as a tech ability, I just want this to be a more reliable ability to use. I understand how Acc works, it's just infuriating to see at least 50% of my Leg shots miss. With Saber Ward / Deflection / other defensive things the chance to land the root should decrease, like it normally does, but against non-tanks it should be a little more reliable.

Can't jump to you and can't get to you. RIP melee

  15. I agree they are out of control. But I have a recommendation to keep them but make it hurt. Make each heal cast cost 3 or 4 times the current state of resources. Minus self heals of course. You want to heal your buddies as dps. Cool but your going to be out of power neigh completely. Choose wisely your course of action.
  16. You think that's bad? Wait 2 days and watch all those new chars in PvP. I hope people spend their basic comms on 168 gear and not higher.

Rishi mods ff sake. Not 168s. Ltp.

  17. We all know solo ranked is a joke, with trolls and bads and the horrible rating system. i think this should be scrapped for solo ranked and base the end of season rewards just on the number of wins alone.

If you want people to participate, base the rewards on wins. Right now people don't want to queue because of how the rating system is right now.

Group ranked is the only working form of competitive pvp right now, because you can choose who gets in your team, you can talk to them on teamspeak etc...You basically have control.

Solo ranked, you have no control over. You could get 200 wins and still have a lower rating than someone with 50 wins. Which is why i think Solo ranked rewards should be based on wins and participation.

The rewards for solo should be good but the rewards for group ranked should be better.

Of course, people on different servers would have different populations of people queuing for solo ranked. And right now people transfer servers all the time for group ranked to get more competition (good for you Bioware, you get more money!).

It makes zero sense to have different servers on the same solo ranked leaderboard when every server is different. Right now, you could be the best most amazing player on your server, but there will be few people queuing, the pops will be too long, and you may never get into the top 50 for your class or whatever, because people on other servers have a higher rating due to more competition etc...

Solo ranked leaderboards should be split on each server. The top 150 players with the most wins should get rewards, and thats it. Because if there was a top 3, you will never get the chance to reach those rewards just because someone is queuing 24/7, but the top 150 will give you a bit of a chance to be eligible for rewards. Losses would mean nothing, because it's unfair if you keep losing to trolls and undergeared people, so it won't affect your rating.

/signed. With the state of unbalace in this game as it is, the is the only way you will get me back into the arena.
